From my FIRST book (!), Night and Day ...

My First Date with a Guy - Part One

Back in 2008, through www.urnotalone.com, I came into contact with lots of guys, most of whom supported me and encouraged me, over many months, so much so that I decided I needed to meet one of them.

I needed to know that I not only had the ability to BE fully female while with him, but that he enjoyed my company, that he was attracted to me, that he saw me only as a woman and treated me like a woman too.

I spent a few months talking to some of those who lived in the UK, asking if they would like to meet me. They all said 'yes', which was nice (!), so we got to thinking about 'ground rules' and making arrangements.

Ground rules were important; I didn't want there to be any expectation beyond meeting up and being together. Should anything develop, we would both know it and only then would things go any further.

- One guy wanted to meet up in a public car park, which I quite liked as this seemed quite safe.

- One guy wanted me to spend an evening with him at his home, which I thought was a little risky (!).

- My third guy wanted me to go into his place of work one evening, after everyone else had gone home.

I reckoned I would be meeting them all eventually anyway, so decided to pick the safest option for my first date. I decided I would meet the third guy, let's call him 'Harry', the one who had suggested we meet at his office after work.

Although meeting in a public car park was quite safe, sitting in a car wasn't particularly appealing for me, too claustrophobic, and the thought of getting out of the car and going for a walk, or going into a public place, scared me half to death.

A first meeting at another guy's house didn't seem a 'safe' option either; I knew the guy very well, I knew where he lived, but being one-on-one in his house for a first date was a little too dangerous in my mind. Although I secretly loved the idea of being kidnapped and forced to live as his woman, that was fantasy!

So I decided to meet Harry. He worked about 50 miles from my home and his office was in the middle of a busy town centre so, right off the bat, I was facing my longest drive fully dressed as a woman, in heels, and I having no idea where I would park, how 'public' that would be, etc. Scary as that was, in my inmost being, I knew this was right. My therapist had actually recommended that I do this; I needed to know how I would feel in the company of a man, ostensibly as a woman.

Ooo! I should've mentioned this earlier ... even though my former publisher is no longer able to sell my book, Night and Day, if anyone wants to have a copy, it would seem that some Booksellers still have stock for sale.

For sure, as a 'traditional' woman, I consider my place to be in the kitchen, preparing food for my man...

... mind you, if I dress up real nice for him, he might take me out for dinner as long as I give him dessert when we get back ... that's a GOOD deal .... yay!!

Dear friends, I am sorry for being a little 'distant' these past few weeks, but I have had to go into battle with my Publisher to regain the rights to my book (Night and Day) ... and I have won!

What this means is that I can bring my story right up to date, add new content and republish. This time around, I will be self-publishing my book which means I will also receive royalties from sales of my book... my previous Publisher kept all my royalties, they never paid me a penny. Not nice people!

I'm going to be a busy girl, but I will always make time for my friends here in Tumblr!

The only downside is that no-one will be able to buy my old book, but the sequel will be way better!

Captions like these are often a bit 'cheesy' but this is no caption, I consider this to be a mental health warning and, if that is YOU, get help ... don't put it off!

I say this as someone who struggled growing up, who didn't find out what was 'wrong' with me until I was in my 40s, not able to follow my heart without hurting (in some cases losing) people that I knew and loved.

Psalm 34:5

‘Those who look to Him are radiant with joy; their faces shall never be ashamed.’

There is something different about people who trust in the Lord Jesus. As they trust in Him, something about the way they look changes. People around them begin to see the change in them. There is peace and joy instead of despair and hopelessness. That’s because they don’t look at their circumstances, but look to Jesus in every situation. The verse, "You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You." (Isaiah 26:3), is true of them.

PRAYER: Lord, I lift up my eyes, above the troubles that are around me, and I look to You. You are my hope, You are my salvation and You are the One Who comes and lifts up my head. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
