âbut i donât want to hurt it still, i donât know what a sentient being is. and i also donât know how to spell that word, so itâs really sad if i end up doing that.â he said with a small sigh, as he looked over at arlo as she started talking about not being worried with rubber ducks, but with pigeons instead. âwait, really? but i thought pigeons would be kind of nice too. i mean, i like to feed them sometimes when iâm on my way here and iâm eating something. they start surrounding me and then i just give them some of my food. maybe theyâre spying on me, i donât know.â he said with a nod of his head, as he looked at arlo. âdo you think i should try taking a tag from one of their ankles? maybe theyâre being mind controlled with that.â
âthe relationship you have with your little rubber duck is deeply concerning and i suggest you talk to someone about it. a professional, not me. i donât think i could personally sit through an hour of you bringing up this duck situation again.â arlo sighs, not even sure if joey knew she was getting bored at this point, but he sure did talk a lot. âitâs a federal offence to take a tag from the ankle of a pigeon, but sure, if you feel it is your duty to free them you should go and make the world a better place. get a pigeon army or something.â

âWoah, rewind,â Xavier requests, his hand moving through the air like that might actually turn back time about twenty-three seconds to the part he was stuck on.Â
âDid you actually eat all seventeen of those cheeseburgers? Because that makes me feel weirdly impressed and competitive all at once.â He had no grand excuse like a 3 month rice cake diet to explain away that kind if gluttony, just good old fashioned monkey see, monkey do.Â
âNo fear of me ever doing a period piece so, all good on that front. Thereâs a very high likelihood that I might end up a drive through menace at McDonaldâs later though.â
He could do eighteen cheeseburgers. Maybe.
âAre you kidding me? Of course I ate all seventeen of those cheeseburgers. I did have to have a small 13 minute break to readjust and make some room but I demolished the whole thing. Even had room for a milkshake for after. I may lie about a lot of things but I donât play when it comes to food.â Arlo had been starving throughout the entire process of making that movie, she was ravenous by the time she got to taste fast food again. âI donât think that the staff at McDonalds were really impressed with the massive order I made, and I seriously doubt they had any idea it was for one person.â She remembers the day vividly, it was just before the wrap party and Arlo had taken her little yellow car straight down to the nearest McDonalds. âI ate every single one in the backseat of my car like a teen at a make out point.â

so admittedly, bella definitely remembered the last time sheâd seen arlo. it had felt like a pivotal moment in her career, being featured in a film with someone as well known as arlo. she was younger, much more eager in her career and when she had seen arlo at possibly her worst, bella had felt bad. even worse in the months following that sheâd never approached arlo to see if she needed someone to talk to. something.      âare you sure? i really donât mind, i mean, i literally spilled a whole coffee on you. let me make it up to you somehow, at least?â    bella tried to reason, flashing an apologetic smile.      âwe, uh â â      she pauses, not wanting to bring up what might be an embarrassing past.      âi think maybe same filming lot?â
the memory is foggy, and arlo feels a bit of shame when it comes to delving into the depth of those memories, having to bury them out from under layers upon layers of alcohol and drug abuse. she was âbetterâ now, or so she told everyone -- she hasnât blacked out in forever, and so that is something at the very least. when sheâs working itâs not so bad, she can focus, but when filming is over, the darkness tends to set back in. arlo remembers being fond of bella, really fond of bella, to the point where she avoided her knowing that she was all too messy and that bella was all too good. âyou can....buy me a bear claw, i guess.â the blonde says with a dismissive shrug. âprobably -- where you an extra?â

ââ and with that, Iâm really excited to start creating. Iâm probably going to be the last person in here when youâve all left because currently, nobody has offered themselves up as a tour guide..â she pauses to laugh, half-joking, â⌠so if anyone has questions, wants to chat, or introduce themselves, please donât hesitate. Iâm going to be in here as long as you are.â
She raises her glass towards the group of people as she steps sideways, greeting the person closest to her. âI donât think I was jokingâ (about the tour guide) âthe site map? Itâs terrible.â Getting lost had become somewhat easy to her.Â
this is his first time alone on set without his father, the man who he followed around like a lost puppy on set. he didnât want to look out of place, as a director, he really needed to look as though he knew what he was doing -- they were trusting him with a lot. gale didnât know if his young shoulders could support the weight of an entire movie, but apparently his dad deemed him capable, and he had to appreciate the confidence he had in him. âiâve looked at this site map fifteen times now and iâm still lost trying to find the bathrooms -- and thereâs like seven of them.â

âAbsolutely not.â Gabriel shook his head, giving the other person a moment to try and explain before he cut them off anyway. âStop. Thatâs going to make us both look inexperienced and idiotic and maybe you want to be seen that way but I sure as hell do not.â He folded his hands and rested them on the large dark oak desk in his office. âI can make some calls and try to figure something else out but you need to trust my judgment here. I know what Iâm doing.â It was true, Gabriel had been in this business for ten years and heâd learned from all his mistakes, anyone who was coming to him for help should know that.
It would be an understatement if Gale were to say that he was inexperienced here. He was merely 25 years old in this industry, taking over from his father whom he had watched for years. This guy knew a lot more than he did, considering this was Galeâs first time working for the money, everything else before this had been nothing more than shadow-work. âIâm sorry...â he responds with a heavy sigh, already wondering if he had bitten off more than he could chew. âI donât know how they got on set.â

WHERE - anywhere youâd see fit.Â
jade had pretty much mastered almost all the cuts and gashes out there â she knew how to make them all look realistic with her makeup (thank you years of a fixation in horror art). but the one thing she has yet to get down was the rotting kind of wound that would usually be seen on zombies. this is why she was sat here now, with her makeup bag out and practicing that kind of wound on her own forearm. she turns to the nearest person to her and taps their shoulder, âwhat do you think of this? realistic enough?â she asks, extending her arm out.Â
he had a weak stomach when it came to things such as zombies and the likes of rotting flesh. blood? he was completely fine with, but there was something about the idea of zombies that made his stomach turn. when jade turns towards him, arm on display, exposing the gaping bite wound surrounded by sickly pale mouldy flesh, heâs quickly took off guard. âoh god --â gale makes a sort of retching sound, his stomach turning. it was most certainly realistic, realistic enough to make him feel unwell so it was a job well done on her part, surely. âmmnâ he hums behind tight lips, giving a firm nod of his head. âthatâs disgustingly realistic.â

TRIGGER WARNINGS FOR GALEâS BIO: cancer and death of a loved one
(ages 0-14) the day dorothea michaels found out that the cancer that had plagued her body was finally defeated, she was told that she was carrying life. a child was growing inside of her â she believed him to be her little miracle, her second chance of life. gale michaels was born on the 11th day of the 11th month and named on the 11th hour. he was gentle, and he was kind, he was always polite, and strangers thought him to be the quietest child that they had ever encountered. thea taught him everything she knew, how to read cards, and the stars, how to play the piano, and speak her native tongue. all of these things were gifts gale held close to his heart, talents he cherished and would continue to honour for the rest of his life. unfortunately, when he turned 9 years old, the cancer had come back, and just before his 10th birthday, his mother, thea passed away, leaving behind a hole that gale, his older sister, and his father would no never be able to fill again. watching his mother grow sicker by the day made gale an anxious boy, developing a stutter that lead him to the bullying of his peers. in the end, he decided it would be better if he didnât say anything at all, so he became mute by choice.
(ages 14-25) to cope with the loss of his mother, and the painful isolation he felt due to his inability to speak around others, gale set up a youtube channel and found an interest in athleticism. it was within this channel that he began to build a following, and eventually, he was able to build his confidence. it was easy for him to talk to a camera, and life wasnât so lonely when you had the whole world at your fingertips. it was within this community that gale michaels had found fame, and acceptance. it was from here that he began to focus on his career, building a name for himself worldwide. he was raised under the loving wing of his gentle father, a world renowned writer who soon began to receive countless opportunities to bring his books to life on the silver screens.Â
(ages 25+)Â in the recent years, gale has taken an interest in movie making and began to help his dad on set as he guided the creative process of turning his books into movie adaptions. it came as a surprise to him when his dad offered him the opportunity to take the reigns on his newest adaption, a book that had been dedicated solely to his mother. gale is fresh to the directing scene, but heâs been on set for almost as long as he could remember, and now heâs just hoping he can make his father proud as he takes on his ne career opportunity.

ALEX ROLLS HIS EYES A LITTLE, but responds quickly, âTHANKS, i quite like it.â did he? he wasnât sure yet, he was still getting used to it. but ever since he got it dyed, heâs been getting a bit more attention from men and women when he was out â itâll be hard to let go of it once he confirms that it upped his game a little, EVEN IF SLIGHTLY. alex knew who arlo was before theyâd even met â he has access to the internet, and it was hard to NOT know who she was. she was certainly a lot more well-known than alex was. âso am i gonna have a hard time finding the chemistry here, or do you think youâll remember me next time?âÂ
alex is probably a great guy, maybe a little too cocky but in this industry you need to be confident in order to get anything done. if you walk in with self doubt, theyâll smell it on you and eat you alive. quieter people are easy to manipulate, alex doesnât look the type to fall for that kind of bullshit. âdonât worry princess, with a face like that itâll be hard to forget.â she says with a small roll of her eyes. this could be fun, he seems like his ego is fragile enough to toy with, but not break entirely. âwe can work on the chemistry, so long as youâre pretty.â

âYEAH, I DONâT THINK I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ANY OF THAT ANYTIME SOON.â elly responded with an obvious smug tone, while eyeing her costar with a look of annoyance. âwho does she think she is to give her such advice? does she think she knows better than her?â elly quietly thought. before answering arloâs questions, she loudly sighed and leaned back in her chair, âjust same old same old. i actually just finished shooting for a mini series, i canât tell you much, though. but i think theyâre in post-production now.âÂ
she was used to this, the arrogance, the audacity to think that you donât need help or advice from anyone. at the sigh and roll of her eyes, arlo merely chuckles under her breath and allows her to continue, explaining to her the complexity of the mini series she was working on. arlo shouldnât rise to it, but she does, in her own calm and collected way. âiâve never done one of those. maybe if my next movie flops iâll be sure to accept a smaller role, or you know, a mini series to get me back on my feet.â

âI had a phase in high school after a breakup where I put pink streaks in my hair.. That was the boldest Iâve ever gone.â She laughed softly, âI honestly donât blame you.. Sheâs a gem. Iâm pretty sure I played her music every day throughout college. She got me through some ridiculous periods in my life. Sheâs hard not to love.â
âPink streaks? Was it Rachel McAdams that inspired you? I remember that phase when everyone was going wild for the pink highlights -- my mother wouldnât let me touch my hair. I wanted to go blue.â There was a lot Arlo hadnât been able to do growing up, the longer it went on, the more she began to resent it all. âShe gave me her number but Iâve never had the guts to call. What would I even call Lady Gaga for? To borrow a hedge trimmer?â

bella really should keep her eyes up when she walked, in fact, she could hear her momâs voice in her head telling her to pay more attention. and perhaps if she listened to her momâs voice in her head, she wouldnât be in this situation.    âiâm so sorry,â    sheâd probably uttered those same words a hundred times now. lukewarm ( thank god ) coffee dripped from the mostly empty takeaway cup and she couldnât help but stare in astonishment as to how sheâd possibly managed this.    âcan i, like, buy you a new shirt or something? i feel so bad for bumping into you and spilling coffee on you. i mean, you probably have so many better things to be doing than dealing with my clumsiness.â
the last time arlo had seen bella, she had been embarrassingly drunk, and high. she remembers distinctly how she had been with her ass on the floor, too gone to pull herself back up, and the way she had been surrounded by others in other to hide the debacle she was putting on display. this girl was a fresh face, still with too much hope in her eyes and so much innocence. arlo knew that the best thing for her was to steer well clear, so they didnât speak, no matter how much she wanted to utter a âhiâ in the past. âi -â the blonde sighs and wipes down at her shirt with a shake of her head. âitâs fine, i stole it from set anyway, they've got about a dozen others in storage. hi -- have we met?âÂ

even though he had been working in the film industry for quite some time, it was still rather awkward to find himself face to face with the celebrities the world and a half were talking about. he rarely knew what to say, but that did not mean he didnât try. the thing is, he had tried it all: from pretending he had no idea who they were, to being the fanboy, or the cult film boy, and it never ever worked. some were mean about them all, but some others happened to nice about it, like in that very moment where he even got a little bit of movie trivia out of his question. âthat sounds⌠not great. but eating those cheeseburgers was probably the best time of your life.â he laughed softly. âoh- me? i donât think iâll be in it any time soon. i donât think iâd look good in a corset.â
âno, no, i think that youâd look wonderful in a corset.â arlo gives a wave of her hand over the mans frame. âyouâre totally built for the era, i could see you giving real queen elizabeth vibes.â grins the blonde, finding herself actually able to tolerate this guy -- which was rare for her. most of the time she hated other actors, thatâs why she spent most of her time not sober to deal with it all. sure, she was pretentious herself, there was no denying that she was insufferable, and isnât that what makes you hate someone - seeing your own qualities in them? âi think you look....too modern. not so much so that you couldnât travel back to the early 1900s, but i do think that 1800s would be a stretch for your vibe. does that sound rude? i donât mean for it to sound rude -- a lot of people tend to think iâm being an asshole but i promise iâm not trying to be right now. maybe in 10 minutes, i have a recharge rate. what i mean is youâve got a handsome face.â

âiâm pretty sure thatâs like, illegal to not feed you. i wouldnât even feed a dog a rice cake.â quinn said, but nodded along to arloâs story nonetheless. if she wanted a career reminiscent of the blondeâs, to even touch that greatness, she was actually going to try and listen for once. the 17 cheeseburgers and cruel treatment from those in charge of the film didnât exactly sound desirable to quinn, but you know what did? the pretty costumes that period pieces often entailed. with a vague whining sound of disagreement, quinn fessed up to arlo, âuhhhhh, i know youâre like, saying i shouldnât, totally hear you on that front!â she paused to apply some chapstick, then explained, âbut like the dresses are soooo cute, i would make a great, young, princess clarisse renaldi when they finally decide to do her era accurate biopic! wouldnât i?âÂ
everyone had that one dream role theyâd been hoping for since they were a child. some were stupid enough to hope for shit like harley quinn, or batman - but if you came out with something fascinating like princess clarisse renaldi then you could hold arloâs attention. âthe dresses are cute. and no itâs not illegal to not feed you but being a woman in this industry is difficult, especially when theyâll fire you for putting on even a drop of fat, meanwhile a man will get away with everything.â sheâs learned to roll with the punches at this point, made her voice loud enough to stay in work, but damn did directors suck. lately she tried to pick roles with only female directors. âmake it happen if you want it so bad.â

joey just stood there watching as the other took their drink, sort of relieved that he at least got something right, but his expression quickly changed when the other mentioned that it was freezing. âuh, iced coffee?â he lied, as he shrugged his shoulders but shook his head after a while. âokay, iâm sorry, i took a little longer than expected but itâs just because maps confuse me and i couldnât find my way back here, then the drinks got cold and i thought if i went back i would just waste more time, so thatâs why itâs coldâŚâ he said with a sigh, as he shook his head at the otherâs mention of finding out what was inside the rubber duck. ânow that would just be mean, i donât see how that would be nice to the duck⌠it would probably kill him, i donât wanna do that.â he said, chewing on his bottom lip for a few seconds.
âyou are well aware that the duck is not a sentient being and therefore will not die if you cut it open. and they cost like 3 bucks iâm pretty sure you could find a replacement.â a slow smirk creeps up across her lips, realising that this kid could be just gullible enough to mess with. âbesides itâs not your rubber ducks you should be worried about. i hear they plant listening devices on pigeons.â arlo says in a low whisper, leaning in closer as though she were telling him an important secret. âitâs the tags on their ankles.â

BEFORE ALEX COULD SPEAK TO HIS CO-STAR, she was questioning who he was. alex didnât whether to be offended because theyâd met a few times already, or if she was implying that he had a forgettable face. âALEX⌠we MET?â he furrows his brows at her. when they first met, alex was on the fence about how he felt about her â meeting someone similar to him always either ended horribly, or in the best of ways. right now, he was leaning more towards a NO. âsure, i didnât have the BLEACHED HAIR before, but we did spend many hours together.âÂ
He had a promising sort of face, the kind that brought in roles, the kind that could be moulded into anything you needed it to be. Sheâd see him as a threat if she wasnât already so sure of her position in the acting community. Truth be told, sheâs never seen his work, nor heard of his name, so for all she knew he could have been the coffee boy if it wasnât for the natural air of arrogance that followed him. She gives out a slight huff at the introduction, a little ashamed that during their original meeting she had been in a sorry state. âMust be the hair.â Arlo says with a wave of her hand, dismissing the situation entirely, showing for a moment a sign of confusion - wondering how she had managed to blank out for an entire co-star. This was the guy she was going to have to pretend to be in love with? Easy enough, if she ignores the personality and focuses on the face. âNice hair, Alex.â

âI would like, never do a period piece,â Coco concluded. âLike, donât get me wrong Iâd totally eat soup and rice cakes to fit into a corset, but I think I just look too hot to do one, you know?â It wasnât meant as a jab to Arlo by any means, but Coco was never one to shy away from her opinions, especially when it came to her career. âNo offense to you obviously, but I think my face just looks too modern. Luckily, youâve got this whole like Grace Kelly thing going for you so you kinda fit the bill,â she explained, waving her manicured hand around. Truthfully, Coco couldnât care less about the conversation at hand. Talking about projects was just such a bore unless there were bragging rights. That meant Coco felt like it was appropriate to pivot. âDo you wanna like, go get schwasted tonight? I kinda wanna check out this new place on Main Street.â
Coco had a point, she couldnât really pull off much else if Arlo was to be honest. Sheâs met other girls like her before in the industry, theyâll get swallowed into the horror - sex - gore trend and get a fan-cult following from it and thatâll be enough. Most people were satisfied with what they had going for them, but Arlo? She was determined to do it all, she would never rest until at least one of everything was collected tightly under her belt. It was needless to say that Coco was a really bad influence on the blonde, as someone who was just fresh off of the rehab boat, she really shouldnât be looking into getting âschwastedâ, but the word âyesâ falls from her lips so easily. âOK but only alcohol. Iâve got a shoot in the morning.â Not that that ever stopped her, sheâll say sheâs not doing the damn thing and then two hours later youâll catch her with her nose against table.

âI could not, for any reason, dye my hair black.â She shook her head, âIâm sorry that she stained you. I would never. I get it all on myself.â Taylor smiled, grabbing a towel to dry off her arm. âIt was.. unreal. Definitely worth the hype. I donât know what kind of treatments he does, but he keeps it pristine.â She gasped softly at the mention of Lady Gaga, âI can imagine! Whatâs she like?â
âI liked it, I felt like a bit of a badass. Iâve been blonde my whole life and because Iâve been working since I was 6 I was forbidden from ever dyeing my hair -- the whole experience was pretty cathartic. Minus the dark black smears across my neck.â Arlo laughs, tapping her fingers against the table as she recalls the time she met Lady Gaga. âI think she was sweet? I was pretty hysterical the whole time so she might have just felt a lot of pity for me.â
