Shameful secret | Oneshot

“Stop”, her slow and heavy voice let out, pushing the body from on top of her.

“what, WHAT!?”, he huffed angrily drawing his face from her neck.

The room echoed the response from all corners of the dark room before returning into resting silence. The two bodies stood still facing each other, taking in the quiet stares of one another.

“I-I can’t”, she admitted softly looking away breaking the contact, “I’m sorry Yugyeom.”

He removed his eyes from her small face slowly sliding off from on top of her body. Moving to the side opposite of hers he turned his bare back against her. The feeling of relief that should of settled in Myra’s mind was blocked by the quick moving guilt that settled instead, the sight of her frustrated boyfriend only aided in the hurting emotion.

Letting out a quiet sigh Yugyeom stared at the camouflaged dark before closing his eyes. His fingers brushed his hair as his hands rested on his face.

“What’s wrong this time Myra?” He asked in a frustrated but contained voice.

Myra pulled herself up, her back supported by the head board that was behind her. Everything she wanted to say, no she wanted to yell, no she wanted to scream until her vocal chords gave out. Holding in secrets was usually a walk in the park when it came to petty lies or humiliating stories, but this was different. The weight of this secret pulled her down, gnawed on her, chained her never allowing her to bury it. The long awaited explanation as to why she’s been avoiding his kisses, his love, and their intimacy. The explanation as to why she’s been in distant contact with her one and only, the one that was supposed to stay her one and only….

Yugyeom pushed off the bed navigating through the darkness, memorizing the placement of the leather bench that posed in front of Myra’s bed. He grabbed the shirt that laid on it placing his head through the opening. The same thoughts that have been recycling in his mind the past few weeks didn’t bother to speak. He grabbed the bedroom door open with another quiet sigh, not bothering to close it behind him as he kept moving forward. His eyes came in instant contact with the small shoe rack that stood on the same side as the front door.

What the fuck did I do? He thought to himself reaching for the beat up old-skool vans on the top of the rack. Pressing his palm against the wall as he slipped one on, he couldn’t help but blame an unknown wronging he must of done for his girlfriend of three years to suddenly do a 360 change. Did I say something? Talk to a girl she doesn’t like? I’ve been coming home early these days. He shook his head at his attempt to figure out this new obstacle.

Gentle sniffles coming from behind disturbed his self-incriminating thoughts, turning around he was met with the misty eyes of Myra. Frozen in position he stared at the scene. Her dark eyes slowing rose to meet his.

“I cheated”, her voice wobbly.

Yugyeom narrowed his eyes to the body that stood in front of him, an airy “What?”

Silence crept in as the words arranged themselves into his ears the words becoming cleared and clearer. It sang a mocking ring cheated cheated cheated. Abrupt rage straightened his arm to the knob behind him. The sweat on his palms forced him to slightly wrestle with the barrier that stopped him from briskly leaving.

“Wait!” A choked cry protested. But only the rattling of the slammed door responded to her attempt of stopping him. Dropping in her place the back to back distressed cries filled the now empty space.
