thinking about tevinter & datv in line of how fenris would feel towards said region.

by   the   time   datv   rolls   around   fenris   is   not   as   extreme   in   his   mage   hating,   though   that   doesn't   mean   he's   suddenly   open   &   friendly   to   those   from   tevinter   specifically.   he   very   much   loathes   how   the   corrupted   system   works   there,   holds   an   extreme   dislike   for   those   in   power   &   those   who   maintain   this   corrupt   system   for   their   own   benefits.

that   being   said,   he   does   not   hate   normal   citizens   of   tevinter.   he   is   aware   of   the   levels   of   exploitation   that   go   on,   how   desperate   those   who   are   not   at   the   top   of   society   are.   he   wants   a   better   tevinter   for   them.   he   100%   has   been   involved   with   the   shadow   dragons,   though   his   methods   are   usually   more   deadly   admittedly.   he   sees   the   good   they   do   &   wants   to   help.   he   knows   how   hard   that   kind   of   fight   is   &   is   willing   to   give   his   all   if   it   means   change   &   freeing   those   bound   by   slavery   or   at   risk   of   falling   into   it.

tevinter   is   not   his   home   per   say,   he   has   no   past   memories   to   tie   him   to   it   but   he   does   have   new   developing   memories   that   are   important   to   him.   he's   met   &   helped   people   there,   worked   with   the   shadow   dragons,   been   a   patron   at   bars   &   establishments,   in   short   he's   gotten   to   know   the   regular   people   that   live   within   tevinter.

so   when   it   comes   to   aiding   tevinter   the   choice   is   easily   made   for   him.   he   will   go   regardless   of   what   anyone   else   says.   it's   not   his   home,   but   the   people   there   mean   something   to   him.   it   goes   beyond   wanting   to   block   the   venatori   &   the   escaped   gods   from   fully   taking   control   of   minrathous   /   tevinter,   that   on   it's   own   is   reason   enough   in   his   mind.   however   that   is   not   what   comes   to   mind   when   the   choice   is   first   presented.   it's   the   people   he   instantly   thinks   about   &   it's   because   of   them   he   will   pick   up   his   blade   &   charge   headfirst   into   the   eluvian   to   get   him   there   quickly.   it   doesn't   matter   that   it's   a   god,   a   blighted   dragon,   etc   he   has   to   do   something   for   them.

thinking   about   how   disconnected   fen   is   from   his   elven   heritage   &   culture   makes   me   so   sad.   the   elves   have   such   rich   history   to   learn   from   despite   the   fragmenting   of   their   history   &   traditions   over   time.   i   want   threads   where   fen   gets   to   explore   this   be   it   willingly   or   not   at   first.   he's   a   stubborn   man   but   he   is   able   to   learn   &   grow.
