Okay, so once again, the rvb fuckability polls genius has infected me, and I have a new rare pair that goes in the ‘yk what hell yeah’ category of shipping where the dynamic is just too good, and I have to put down my OTP’s for a second to shake them around in a box together.

So, Simmons and Tucker. (I’m team Tucker, sorry Reds.) Their dynamic is absolutely hilarious to me, so here are some written ideas I have about them while I can’t draw them out like I planned lol (but I still might if ya’ll enjoy this and wanna see it lmao).

Firstly, there is some comedy gold to be found in these two for a variety of reasons. One of my favourites so far is that He Cannot Handle All That ™, this isn’t just a case of matching eachothers freak, Simmons is actively being outfreaked by Tucker, because unlike Simmons who’s freak has only ever been in theory and fanfiction, Tucker’s got some hands on experience (pun intended), and I think Tucker putting Simmons theories being put to the test would actually kill him.

Also, there is a deep irony in this relationship if you’re a Sarges weird crush on Wash, believer because while we know that Simmons has a boner for blue team in general, him also ending up with a matching weird admiration/jealousy crush on Tucker, Wash’s equally competent but maybe cooler second in command, would be so funny. The apple truly doesn’t fall far from the tree on red team.

And last, can you imagine the two getting to know eachother and Simmons discovering that Tucker’s secretly a huge geek as well, just with the social skills to make up for it? Like Simmons would make a reference to a show that none of the other reds and blues have even heard of, and Tucker would laugh, and then ‘um actually’ him when Simmons tries to explain what season it’s from.

Like can you imagine, being the biggest nerd for years in a box canyon and then finding out that the hot, athletic, cool guy on the other time is an even bigger nerd than you are? Oh he’d die.

I can also just imagine them getting along on Iris and Tucker asking Simmons to teach him how to throw knives like Wash does, and when Simmons goes to eventually correct his form on the throwing range, adjusting his arm the right way for the throw, Simmons gets two solid handfuls of bicep and blue screens instantly while Tucker just stares at him expectantly, still waiting for Simmons to actually move said arm and correct his form.

Now theres definitely some great angst potential in how Simmons might see parts of Grif in Tucker, and if that’s your thing go fucking wild beacuse theres so much you could do with it, but to me, it honestly might be funnier to address where they’re different.

Simmons and Tucker have a nice moment and instead of Tucker blowing it off straight away like Grif might’ve; Tucker, who’s worked very hard to be better at being vulnerable, acknowledges openly that ‘hey man, I really like hanging out with you like this, you’re way more fun that everyone ever gives you credit for.’ like it’s no big deal to say outloud, and Simmons –emotionally constipated time bomb of bad self esteeme– just fucking explodes on the spot.

Or Simmons finds Tucker smoking outside blue base, and lacking his usual line he’d tell Grif about how he’s ruining his lungs, that he so kindly fucking gave him, the two just blink at eachother for a second before Tucker offers him a hit to break the silence. Not wanting to look like a total looser infront of cool hot dude he totally isn’t into shut up, Simmons takes it. Except when Simmons nearly coughs up a mechanical lung coughing, instead of making fun of him and bantering back and forth like Grif would have, Tucker just takes it back, takes a hit, and gets Simmons to shotgun off him, and oh my god the gay panic of having Tucker grab Simmons face between his hands to keep him still while he breathes the smoke into his mouth would be off the charts.

In conclusion they are so ‘me and the bad bitch I pulled by being autistic’ and this is just making me realise how much I wish we saw the blues interactions with the reds more. Guess I’ll just have to be the change I want to see in the world.

In my head the reds and blues are all on iris or some shit watching this go down. They're very competitive, just some of them pretend they don't care (ahem... Wash - he's as stupid as them no one can convince me otherwise)

Grif and sister are the fucking leaders of the Simmons fanclub btw. And Tucker definitely voted for Andy. It just seems like some stupid shit they'd do (sarge doesn't care as long as the reds beat the blues.)

Anyway I have this stuck in my head now because them interacting over this is just too fucking funny to me. So enjoy these quick sketches.
