Life is precious
In life you will have many times where you feel misery, deep sadness and pain. It’s okay to have those feelings and it’s okay to hold onto hope even if having hope brings more pain
In the short life of a human you will do many meaningless task but as long as those meaningless moments create fun happy memories to look back on they still hold value. Don’t worry about the fact that they are “meaningless” and just enjoy those moments; because they bring joy that is enough.
You are enough, even if you feel useless don’t let the dark thoughts win.
All humans are racing towards death so try not to worry about “am I doing enough” “am I living the right way” and don’t focus so much on the future that you forget to live right now
Just live your life. Be yourself, it’s okay.
Live, because life is precious.

I have officially finished the original Tsukihime. I have a lot of thoughts on it and I don’t want to give a full review with all my thoughts because of spoilers if anyone seeing this ever reads it. There are lots of flaws with the story for sure it is definitely not perfect… but that doesn’t matter. Emotionally the story really spoke to me. From a more pessimistic critical view point I’d say it would be crazy to review it with anything more than a 7/10… but that is not my real opinion. Emotionally it is a 10/10 despite its flaws the story means something to me.
I could go deep into the details of the story and more into how I feel about it but like I said I won’t do that. It’s not a story I can easily recommend, not everyone will enjoy it. If you think the story might be something you could enjoy then absolutely give it a read but it’s definitely not something that everyone would like. I think that stories made for everyone to like will never reach the same peaks of deeply impacting someone emotionally. I think for some people to love a story it means some people will inevitably hate it. So I don’t recommend the story to everyone because it’s not designed with everyone in mind, but it will connect with some people so if you don’t mind dark themes absolutely give it a chance.
I can say that I loved reading the original Tsukihime and I love the story it told. Its themes were very meaningful to me. 10/10 not because it’s perfect but because it touched my soul in spite of its flaws.

A lot of people write Fate off entirely as that Weird Japanese Franchise (insert Orientalist sneer here) that made King Arthur into a Girl, but as someone who read a book of Arthurian stories at a formative age in a school library and was disappointed by almost every subsequent contemporary adaptation of the mythos I found, from movies to TV to games, I still feel that Fate/Stay Night was one of the only modern works to truly convey the sense of sheer beauty and tragedy I felt while reading those stories back in the day. Artoria with her mix of stoicism and melancholy, of might and helplessness, is one of the best adaptations of King Arthur, full stop, and certainly the best in current times after The Once and Future King. I hear Westerners react with derision and mockery every time they see a work from Asia adapt their mythologies and folklore on account of an unfounded belief that those silly Easterners with their "anime tropes" could never hope to convey the supposed cultural complexity of Western culture, and then when you look closer to see what complexity they're taking about, you find nine million dogshit works that are either a) D&D slop that run on race science arithmetic or b) adaptations of Greek mythology with the whitest people and the most neoliberal politics you'll ever see. I'll take the visual novels, thanks.

"I wanted to have friends i wanted to have children" and YET every time that a child ends up in Irina's hands she ends up abusing them horribly. Mariam was reduced to an emotionless doll. Ney suffered from severe paranoia if not psychosis by all the abuse that Irina (and Prim) put her through. Lemy, who was by all means beloved by Irina as her own son (and she cried bitterly his death!) was still put directly in harm's way by Irina herself, he still served to her goals.
And yet it isn't really surprising. Irina wanted to have friends. Irina wanted to have children. But Irina, fundamentally, is just a reincarnation of Alice Merry Go Round, designed specifically to be used by her (pretend) parents as a mean for their ends, and she was used by them to the point where she suffered heavy depersonalization. She wasnt a human she was a doll she only served to please others and not have a desire or drive of her own. And therefore every child she has, she treats them the same too

Working on the next chapter of my fic and just, Behemo can easily manhandle Levia if he really wanted to and she couldn't do anything about it but he chooses to be gentle with her. Meanwhile, Levia recognises that he could throw her around like a rag doll and she's not used to him casually picking her up like she weighs nothing.
I think Behemo regularly sweeps her off her feet into a bridal carry just to force her to go to sleep by dumping her in the bed and this always works because Levia is completely caught of guard, blushing like a maiden as he gently tucks her in. She grew up with Rahab so anything lewd doesn't make her blush but she doesn't know how to deal with soft affection.
Levia was enamoured with those fairy tale type innocent gestures when she was young cause she only ever saw them in shows and now she's getting swept of her feet like a princess and her brain doesn't know how to handle it.

what you said was very sweet and means a lot to me but i am incapable of properly responding in any way besides “thank you so much aaaah” because i do not know how to accurately express the exact level of my gratitude to where you completely understand how much what you said meant to me without me getting even more emotional and looking like a fucking nerd: an autobiography

Well. I didn't manage to finish the theory on time BUT I did technically win. I never really thought there would be two of them at the same time, that is quite the mind fuck to be sure, but I said to myself that if any aspect of it was true then I would take it as a win.
And I did get some of the characterisation right! Not sure if I actually stated it here but in my mind Luika was always the original Uika and Ruika was simply someone else who wanted to share that identity. My analysis about Luika wanting to be an idol and be in a band were all technically right! Just not the way I had envisioned.
I'm excited to see the real Uika next episode and see what she's like. If more of the personality bits I mentioned are correct I'd be pleased. I haven't had a chance to mention it yet but I did theorise a while ago that Uika had nearly drowned and that led to the two Uika situation in the present. Seeing Uika by the sea made me curious to see if she'll drown next episode.
I still want to know what's up with Uika's hands because no normal person uses them like that.
