THANK YOU! I get called possessive so many times!!! Like yes I'm aware others can love the same character(s) also I don't care but I also have the right to feel jealous also especially if I ain't harming anyone like I Been harssed by people because I love a certain character and they are like " you don't own him" like ummm I know this lol but just like others can love him I can also love him

I don't have a issue with others loving the same character(s) as me I only have a problem with it if they have a problem with me

And being called possessive freaking hurt badly

dealing with f/o jealousy (or interest jealousy in general) ୧ ‧₊˚ ⋅ ☆

me, and a lot of people in the self shipping community struggle with feeling jealous or possessive of characters and interests we love. rationally we know we aren’t the only ones who love them, and that everyone is entitled to enjoying that fiction…but, especially when you’re neurodivergent, even if you’re not a self shipper, sometimes it’s stressful.

in my personal opinion, as long as you’re not hurting anybody, be as jealous as you want. here’s some ways to cope with it ;

- use that fucking block button!! it’s ok!! it exists for a reason!!! i’ve blocked people for very petty reasons and in the grand scheme of existence, it doesn’t matter!!

- use tag filters to filter out ships with your f/o or favorite characters/media.

- remember that your connection to your character is special. only you can experience it this particular way— even if others have one similar— no one will ever be you. they’ll never feel the exact same as you do, in the same moments you do.

- share your frustrations with trusted friends! it’s ok to complain!!

- write/find posts about your fictional attachment reassuring you.

- fantasize about fist fighting whoever made u upset in the walmart parking lot /j
