Isaiah 38 8 Behold, I will bring the shadow on the sundial, which has gone down with the sun on the sundial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward.” So the sun returned ten degrees on the dial by which it had gone down. QUESTIONS: 1. What does God tell us He caused to happen in this passage? “So the *sun returned* ten degrees on the dial by which it had gone down.” 2. Is there any possible allowance for “…the earth rotated ten degrees on the dial causing the sun to appear to teverse direction.” instead of what God tells us, “…the sun returned ten degrees on the dial by which it had gone down.”? None whatsoever. God said it is the sun that “returned,” or reversed its direction. God said what He meant and He meant what He said. For those who would try to change what God said, for any reason, please see the verses after the last question. 3. Is there anything about God’s description of the sun reversing its direction across the sky, the effect of the sun doing so on the sun dial like device, or the normal God-given precedent for determining if scripture should be understood to be literal (i.e. surrounded by non-literal language), which would cause us to see these particular words from God as non-literal? NO. It is literal. We know this by the text, the Biblical precedent for determining what scriptures are literal vs. non literal. There is no case for these words spoken by God being non literal. 4. How should we reconcile God’s words with modern scientific discoveries? We should NOT. God is God and He said what He meant and He meant what He said. There are not, nor will there ever be any “discoveries,” scientific or otherwise, which disprove any part of God’s word. The acceptance of even the most remote possibility that such could happen is to make God less than God, and to demonstrate faith in the wisdom of man which belongs with God. 5. Which parts of His own Words did God get wrong? NOTHING 6. Is God OK with us toying with His meaning so it fits our worldview, or ”interpreting” His word in such a way as to fit nearly universally accepted worldly teachings? NO. See His own Words on this subject: 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. Genesis 1
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. 7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. QUESTIONS: 1. What does God tell us about His creation in this passage? That “..God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament…” and “God called the firmament Heaven.” We know that there is water above this particular Heaven (other passages refer to “Heavens” in the plural sense and/or tell us there is more than one Heaven). 2. What is God telling us about the structure of His creation? There is water under the firmament, and water held above the firmament by the firmament. We can reasonably assert the firmament is strong enough to support a large volume of water, as our Lord does not dedicate an entire day of creation to build something flimsy. For comparison purposes the waters under the firmament are estimated to weigh 1,450,000,000,000,000,000 tons. It is also worth noting that God did not dedicate an entire day of creation to build an “expanse,” for that matter. In Palms 19:1 the Firmament is described as God’s “Handiwork.” “Handiwork” generally refers to work performed on physical objects with one’s own hands, and does not result in the creation of empty space, or an “expanse.” 3. Is there anything about God’s description of waters above the earth, or the normal God-given precedent for determining if scripture should be understood to be literal (i.e. surrounded by non-literal language), which would cause us to see these particular words from God in which God tells us there is water above the earth as non-literal? If so what is meant by this parable, analogy, etc. of an earth which God tells us of the “waters which were above the firmament?” NO. It is literal. We know this by the text, Biblical precedent for determining what scriptures are literal vs. non literal, and by the fat that on the 4th day of creation the sun, moon, and stars are placed within the firmament. The literal cannot be placed within the non literal. 4. Modern manipulations of God’s Words sold to believers as “interpretations” state that passages about “waters above” refer to steam, or clouds, or another gaseous form of water, or that the waters above were drained during the flood and are no longer present above the earth. Is there any Biblical weight to this belief? NO. When the God refers to clouds He chooses a very unique word, “cloud.” When God refers to vapor or mist, etc., He chooses similarly mysterious words, such as “vapor” or “mist.” There is ZERO reason to believe or precedent for God, ever, using the word for “water” to describe anything but liquid water. There is ZERO reason to believe or precedent for God, ever, using a word for water in a non liquid form to describe liquid water. Our God understands the difference between the different forms of water He created, and does not erroneously or deceptively confuse them. To suggest otherwise is an attack on the greatness of God. Psalm 148:4 refers to the waters above. This Psalm was written well after the flood. The waters above are still present. 5. 6. Which parts of His own Words did God get wrong? NOTHING 7. Is God OK with us toying with His meaning so it fits our worldview, or ”interpreting” His word in such a way as to fit nearly universally accepted worldly teachings? NO.

Psalm 96
10 Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns; The world also is firmly established, It shall not be moved; He shall judge the peoples righteously.”
QUESTIONS:
1. What does God tell us about the earth in this passage?
That “The world also is firmly established, It shall not be moved.”
2. What is God referring to with His choice of use the word “also?”
God appears to be citing the fact that the earth is established firmly in its location and is immovable as evidence of God’s greatness.
3. Is there anything about this description of an immovable earth, or the normal God-given precedent for determining if scripture should be understood to be literal (i.e. surrounded by non-literal language), which would cause us to see these particular words from God in which He tells us the earth cannot be moved from its current location as non-literal? If so what is meant by this parable, analogy, etc. of an earth which God tells us is “firmly established?”
NO. It is literal.
4. Modern “interpretations” of God’s word state that passages about a non-moving earth should be understood to mean “the earth cannot be moved ‘from its assigned place in space.’ ” Is there any Biblical weight to this belief?
NO. Adding “from its assigned place in space” is, in fact, adding words to scripture and assigning them to God Himself on one’s own authority, often with the intent of rescuing God from a conflict with scientism, and a cheap trick used to harmonize God’s words with modern mythology in which the world is rotating while in orbit around the sun which is in orbit around the center of the galaxy which itself is traveling through space at 1.3 million miles per hour.
5. How should we reconcile God’s words with modern scientific discoveries?
We should NOT. God is God and He said what He meant and He meant what He said. There are not, nor will there ever be any “discoveries” scientific or otherwise, which disprove any part of God’s word. The acceptance of even the most remote possibility that such could happen is to make God less than God, and to demonstrate faith in the wisdom of man which belongs with God.
6. Which parts of His own Words did God get wrong?
NOTHING.
7. If we don’t agree with something God says, is God OK with us toying with His meaning so it fits our worldview, or ”interpreting” His word in such a way as to fit universally accepted worldly teachings?
NO. See His own Words on this subject:
2 Timothy 3:16-17

Revelation 6
13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. QUESTIONS: 1. What does God tell us falls to the earth? Stars 1. The wisdom of the god of this world tells us stars are both too large and too far away for this prophesy to be fulfilled as written. Even though God used the word “stars” as confirmed in the Greek, is there a possibility God did not really mean “stars?” NO. God is God and He said what He meant and He meant what He said. 2. Is there anything about this description of falling stars, or the normal God-given precedent for determining if scripture should be understood to be literal, which would cause us to see these particular words from God in which He tells us the stars will fall as non-literal? If so what is meant by this parable, analogy, etc. of falling stars? NO. It is literal. 3. Modern “interpretations” of God’s word state that the falling stars are really asteroids or meteors. Is there anything to this belief? NO. See the answer to question 1.
The English and Greek both use their respective words for “stars.” “Meteor” and “asteroid” are modern words generally referring to rocks in space or rocks falling from space. Revelation predates the creation of these words. There is ZERO case for the word “stars” in Revelation 6:13 actually meaning “rocks” (“petros” or “petra” in the Greek), or anything else just as there is no case for the word “stars” referring to “submarines” and just as there is no case in the Bible for the person “Moses” being a buffalo. God is God and He said what He meant and He meant what He said, and He chose the word “stars.” The argument that God somehow meant “rocks” when He said “stars” necessarily assigns a level of stupidity to God; this foolish explanation inarguably constitutes a false teaching. Do not fall for this common but false teaching. 4. 5. Although this verse does not provide certainty that the sky will be emptied of stars, it eludes to it. Does a sky largely or fully emptied of stars lend to the position that this prophesy will be fulfilled by falling rocks, leaving the stars in place? NO. Does a fig tree largely emptied of figs still have all of its figs on it? 6. Which parts of His own Words did God get wrong? NOTHING 7. If we don’t agree with something God says, is God OK with us toying with His meaning so it fits our worldview, or ”interpreting” His word in such a way as to fit universally accepted worldly teachings? NO. See His own Words on this subject:

I’ve written a book which explains how a common person can use high school math and easily reproducible observations to prove, and I mean prove with absolute certainty that the stars must be much closer than we are taught. God’s word does in fact necessitate this position, however it can also be verified through simple observations in the natural world.

Joshua 10
12 Then Joshua spoke to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel:
“Sun, stand still over Gibeon;
And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.”
13 So the sun stood still,
And the moon stopped,
Till the people had revenge
Upon their enemies.
Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.
QUESTIONS:
1. Who/what were God’s commands issued to?
The sun and the moon.
2. What were the results of the command of God?
The sun stood still in obedience, and the moon stopped in obedience.
3. Does God’s Word in this passage contain any mention of a command being issued to the earth?
No
4. Does God, ever or anywhere, allude to the earth obeying commands He issues to persons or things other than the Earth?
No
5. If this true and accurate historical account found in the inviolable Word of God were found to conflict, directly or indirectly, with a man-derived position, should the secular position be reconsidered, or should these words of God be subject to “interpretation?”
The secular position is established to be false on the grounds that God is not wrong in His description of the historical events He caused to happen and caused to be accurately recorded in His word.
6. Which parts of His own Words did God get wrong?
NOTHING
7. If we don’t agree with something God says, is God OK with us ”interpreting” His word in such a way as to fit universally accepted worldly teachings?
No. See His own Words on this subject:
