I got a request for Greek Gods as things I’ve overheard, and since school is- quite possibly the best place for these things, I figured why not!

Zeus: “Bold of you to assume that I can’t be more of an asshole.” Poseidon: “People never drink water in class. Drink water throughout class. Drink water instead of class. Don’t go to class.” Hades: “My math grade is almost lower than my will to live.” Hestia: “Sometimes I just want to sit in that fire pit and roast marshmallows as I let the ashes reclaim me.” Demeter: “They said we need more plants around. So I need a fanfic where this happens:

Harry & Draco don’t start off as enemies. Actually, that level of animosity between KIDS isn’t there. They have classes in common sometimes, of course they talk.

And maybe not everyone hit it off the same way, but Harry & Draco have a connection and a perfectly healthy relationship although they mostly hang with the people in their own houses.

During the early years they mostly interact during Quidditch, and after when they start to violently fight over something or the other

Fights that quickly cool off since they end up playing games in the Great Hall most times and Believe Me, Granger does go “urgh boys” during this time because how can they be so rabid over one thing then completely calm?

Also they hang a lot while doing homework and Draco is good at explaining things, though there are a few times when he and Hermione don’t agree on some answer and thus argue about either asking a teacher or finding the right book

Harry things Dracos handwriting is very pretty and Ron teases him about what lovely wedding invites they’ll have and after that… Harry can’t stop thinking about it.

They like each other but are kids and unsure and it turns in to a “does he, does he not” thing that goes on for aaageeeessss and both Hermione and Ron are like ASK HIM OUT ALREADY

After the incident with Buckbeack (see: ACCIDENT), Draco tries to persuade his parents to leave it alone, and when Harry corners him about his parents pressuring Hagrid, he tells him “i’m doing my best, get off my case, Potter” and looks so helpless and Harry realises he really wants to kiss him

And he does.

You think that fixes all, huh?! Nope

Buckbeak is to be executed anyway and that makes Harry feel resentful towards Draco and their relationship cools off considerably 

But Ron is like “tbh it wasn’t Dracos fault” and even Hermione agrees so Harry has to let it go but when he does, Draco is already like “ok fine if you’re gonna kiss me and then ignore me then have it your way” and plays it cool

When they finally make-up they are back to strictly friends and Harry doesn’t know how to change it and let’s be honest, our boy has a lot on his plate during all books

But when Harry is chosen to participate in the tournament in GoF Draco does warm up a bit because he is worried because omg Potter you could die in there. It’s like having Hermione x2 at times, tbh.

When it’s time to look for dates for the Yule Ball, Harry actually asks Draco the famous “Wangoballwime?” and since he had to go and wait until the last minute, Draco already has a date. Mind you, he waited until the very last minute to agree to it. Stupid, slow Potter.

Lmao can you imagine how fucking jealous Harry would be at seeing Draco turn up arm in arm with Credric Fucking Diggory to the ball? Ohooo, child.

Btw no, the one Harry has to save from the lake is still Ron, not Draco.

But then everything goes to shit as we all know and in the end, Draco is there to comfort Harry and reassure him that he did his best and, feeling dumb for playing hard to get all this time, he confesses his feelings to Harry.

And Harry loves him too and in any other universe they’d be happy forever but this is another kind of fic, ya hear

Voldemort is back and alert and Draco knows that his family’s lives are at risk if Voldemort can see Harry’s thoughts and dreams.

By the end of OotP he asks Hermione to obliviate Harry. Ofc she says “noway” to begin with, but he explains the situation and in the end, she agrees that it’s the only way.

So Hermione creates the animosity we see from book one. All the would-be friendly memories are now angry encounters and foul things. They both plan it so that Harry wouldn’t even see Draco as a potential partner.

When they are alone in Myrtle’s bathroom, Malfoy is tired of a whole bunch of shit, but especially not being able to just lift Harry’s spell and tell him everything and be ok for a bit with the person he loves because that would endanger his whole family.

And when Harry attacks him, it’s Hermione who comforts him afterwards and asks him if she should obliviate him as well, make things easier.

But they all understand now that they are part of something bigger and they need someone on the inside, so Draco says no.

After that it’s mostly the story as it goes, ‘til the fight between Harry & Voldemort is over and Draco is the first to realise it’s all over and runs over to Harry

Only to have Harry raise his wand towards him.

And that is just enough to break Draco who starts crying and asking Harry to please remember and honestly Harry is first off weirded out by Draco calling him by his first name and secondly why is Malfoy bawling his eyes out what is he talking about

Then Hermione appears out of nowhere and asks him to forgive her then starts chanting a spell and Harry is like

What. Is. Going. On…??? I just killed VOldemort can’t i have a second of peace jesus ch– oh

And that slap he remembers Hermione giving Draco is not a slap, but it’s himself pushing against him and nervously kissing him for the first time

Then there’s another memory of a kiss and another and another

So when his head stops spinning and everything falls into place, he looks at Draco and says his name. Yes I do know this would change EVERYTHING in the books but it’s fun to think about what changes could’ve been done to fit the original story. LET ME LIVE.

You can still be patriotic and know what your country is doing wrong. I know the violation they are commuting for human rights and I always fight for them, but I don’t hate my country. Being a patriotic is about fighting for what you believe in your country. Now, if you would have said nationalist than that would make sense. Please learn the difference.
