SUMMERS IN BANDHAVGARH Sighting date: 09May2022 Location: Khitauli zone of Bandhavgarh national park Sighting if Chota Bheem (father) with 4 cubs at water hole in Khitauli zone of Bandhavgarh. Later mother  (Tara) joined them and guests had complete family sighting. Sighting of father with cubs is rare as mostly male tiger seen in isolation. Peak summer with heat waves gives them reason to come together and share the water pool. It increases tiger sighting duration and probability in summers but mostly in same position for hours. Sighting difference of winters vs summers can be seen same as quality vs quantity. Winter produces quality images and summers gives quantity images.#TigerFamily #Bandhavgarh #SafariUpdate #Photography #TigerCubs #KhitauliZone

Spotted Deer (Axis axis) belongs to Cervidae family and comes in order of Artiodactyls (even toed ungulates). Their life span is of 20-25 years. Their maintain friendly association with Langurs thus often seen together. They are easily seen in national parks of Central India, Eastern India, Western India & Southern India. Even seen in Ranthambore but not seen in northern areas to Delhi like Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh. They are main prey-base for cat species like leopards & tigers thus their presence in forest decides the presence of Tigers & Leopards population in that region. They are grazers, browsers and polygyny by nature. They are always found in herds and are diurnal thus we can see them active in night and day time safaris. Here males have antlers but female doesn't. All deer species have antlers except Chinese water deers. They remain more active in early morning hours and late evening hours, avoids foraging in afternoon period of summers. Although they are more social but groups are very loose means mother with fawns may change herd easily as per situation so composition of herd, along with sex-ratio keep changing. Challenges for spotted deers are not just leopard and tiger but many other predators like wild dog, jackal, Indian rock-python, wild boar. Females and fawns are more vulnerable then bucks.
