Anyways, university/human/swim au. Jean Loo, River, and Tyrell are d1 swimmers on a scholarship that share a lane. More undercut

Jean Loo is one of those ppl who doesn’t take practice seriously (afterall his heart is in crapping) to the point Coach Dorian punishes him with extra sets and dryland exercises. After continuing to mess around, the punishment expands to the whole lane which causes multiple after practice arguments with River and Tyrell to inwardly groan. However, when it comes to meets, he damn well places. His best individual events would be in the freestyle sprints like the 50 and 100 free. Occasionally, he gets wild carded into other events. Additionally, he’s pretty good at teaching others to swim. Like you would get insulted every now and then but it would overall be a constructive experience. I think he would be better at teaching kids because he would be softer towards them (though he would never admit it).

River is very talented at swimming. She started swimming competitively when she was young and is well rounded in all the strokes so she’s usually put in the IM. She also likes to take on more technical styles like the breaststroke and butterfly. In addition, she is the one to drive Jean Loo and Tyrell to their morning practice because the former totaled his car and the latter simply doesn’t have one. She picks up Tyrell from his apartment first and he’s usually on time with no problem. But when it comes to Jean Loo.. multiple text messages, multiple calls, he’s still not out of his apartment. She starts swearing up and down that she will never pick him up again while Tyrell is trying to calm her down and what do you know, the man of the hour is here. All moody and ungrateful. She speeds, somehow doesn’t get a speeding ticket and gets to the pool. It's a 50/50 chance whether they come in late or not. I also like to think she branches out into diving after she meets Washford who is her literature professor and now dive coach along with his off and on husband Drysdale.

Tyrell is a diligent swimmer. He started swimming in his freshman year of high school alongside Jean Loo. He knew the basics but wasn’t fast at all at first, but overtime with a bunch of training, he was one of the fastest on the team. He likes to take on backstroke and longer distance events like the 500 free and the 1650 free. He’s all good vibes, a great morale to the team, and brings extra supplies like goggles, swim caps, snacks, and most importantly, towels to share in case someone forgot something. He’s also a swim instructor at a recreational centre, instructing young kids to swim and old ppl through exercises. At the end of the session, he would teach them to make towel animals

The three don’t usually hang around each other as they have their own friend groups, but they do have a group chat called SOS (sink or swim) suggested by Jean Loo which the other two, surprised by the thoughtfulness (“why are you all surprised? Of course Jean Loo can come up with good names!”), agreed to. Here, they usually discuss their events and swim schedule and if there has been any changes to said schedule. Sometimes, Jean Loo would send in his album art and ask them for their thoughts because River and Tyrell are pretty skilled artists. Their reactions are varying

As for the other objects:

-Farya would work as a part time lifeguard. Excited for any moment she can use her medical knowledge to help someone that has slipped on wet concrete which wouldn’t be pretty sight but luckily that hasn’t happened.. yet

-as for Johnny Splash, idk if I see him as a diver or an incompetent life guard. I guess he could be both

-Amir is also part of the dive. He’s very helpful and supportive toward his teammates, offering constructive criticism when needed. Sometimes Jean Loo comes to boo him during practice as a form of rage bait. Always works to get his attention

-Tina is part of the dive team as well. She started when she was young and is great at it. However, the only reason she’s on the the team is to create drama

-Bathsheba enjoys relaxing in the water, not fighting for her life against it. However, she loves the tea River brings from the pool (most of it stemming from Tina). Sometimes she comes to swim meets to ogle at a particular assistant swim coach

-the Hanks are part of the water polo team

-Wallace and Luke is their waterpolo coach

-..there’s lots of cheering on the waterpolo team

-as mentioned before Washford and Drysdale are dive coaches and Dorian is the swim coach

-Winnifred is the assistant swim coach. Yknow she’s checking up on River and Drysdale

-Tony comes to help with repairs in the pool every now and sometimes comes to watch his girlfriend Tina practice diving. The man doesn’t know how to swim though. Did a cannonball once as a dare and almost drowned
