Ok so here's the deal, my dumbass started the smau right after my 12th finals thinking I would have all the free time in the world to get to this

But guess what your girl forgot abt her entrance exams 🚶🏾‍♀️so my exam prep began and I became busy, then came uni interviews and results - fast forward to me going away to uni and an overwhelming 1st sem

Anyway what I mean it, life became too hectic that I actually forgot the smau even existed, until like, quite recently when I clocked in to see what was tumblr on abt - a few days later is when this ask came

Uh so in conclusion, I honestly don't know, I feel like the almost 9month gap made me lose my interest in it - however not to the point that i would delete it or say, never continue it again

¤ LEE HEESEUNG

A manager and co-coach of the rugby team at Decelis, the life he is currently living wasn't always what he had assumed he would do in the future. He was a promising professional rugby athlete until he fell prey to an unfortunate accident which took it away from him. Regardless, he still wanted to be somewhat or the other associated with the sport. As such, he applied to Decelis, which on taking into account his experience promptly accepted him offering him a joint position in its premises.

☆ He was orphaned at an young age and was taking care of his younger sister, who was also a student at Decelis until her death a few years ago - he moved out of the studio apartment he shared with his sister and now lives alone in the faculty housing provided by the academy year around. It of no surprise that his sister's death had hit him hard and apparently had started going to therapy.

¤ KANG JIHYO

One of the many professors of chemistry at Decelis. She is fairly young as compared to the other professors and was previously a honor student and the ex-president of the student council. Hence it was of no surprise when she was offered to take on the job as a professor of chemistry, her area of expertise. One could assume that she would have been subjected to unsavory looks and opinions due to joining the teaching faculty at such a tender age of 24 but it cannot be far from the truth - in Decelis, to be even considered a 'the fastpass for employment' takes immense amount of commitment and effort - often leaving the applying candidate burnt out if they don't have enough dedication to keep on going.

☆ She is insanely good in chemistry. It is said that she was offered full employment at Decelis at the first go, despite its age old practice to provide temporary employment (to its fresh out of university students) to observe whether the candidates were a fit for the esteemed Decelis faculty.

¤ CHOI MINHO

One of the many professors of literature at Decelis. Strangely enough, despite teaching at Decelis for the past 6 years, nobody really knows much about him. He had always kept to himself ever since he joined the faculty, and by the looks of it there isn't any chance of that changing. He isn't really in friendly terms with most of his colleagues - or for the use of a better term, most would only consider him as an acquaintance, nothing more and nothing less.

☆ Rumour is that he is the principal's son - but here's the thing, an illegitimate one out of an affair. But that's all there is to it and people have refuted the "theory", as one may refer to it as. However behind all this denial, it still lingers in the air and in conversations whenever he is bought up and no one knows for sure who was the culprit behind it starting in the first place.

¤ Y/N

The current vice president of the organising committee at Decelis Academy. She is pretty good in studies and is well liked by her teachers because of her ability to get work done upto the standard regardless of how less time she has (in truth she is just a master procrastinator). She initially decided to apply to the organising committee mainly because she didn't have any interest in joining the already existing clubs at Decelis - over the course of time though, she genuinely started to enjoy working there and was promoted as vice president after a little over two and a half years of joining. Overall a nice and responsible person; cares deeply about the few close friends she has.

☆ She had a brother who also attended Decelis Academy but had lost his life 4 years ago due to currently undisclosed reasons.

¤ REI

The current president of the organising committee of Decelis Academy. She is a hardworker and is quite known for her work ethic. Initially had problems fitting in since she was Japanese, so took in upon herself to learn basic Korean to strike up simple conversations. She wasn't part of any club at the beginning so and helped out whenever any club needed a few extra hands to organise any event, big or small - the teacher's took notice of her responsible nature & her organising abilities, and recommended her to apply for the organising committee at Decelis - she did and was promoted to president after about two years of joining. This is also where she met yn, who soon became a close friend of hers after the many hours they spent working together in the committee.

☆ She recently had to leave the academy dorms to go back home - apparently had something urgent to attend to. Ever since she came back though, she has been a bit jumpy.

¤ SUNOO

The current student supervisor of the tour office in Decelis Academy. Very sociable and a literal ball of sunshine making even the most reserved person be at ease with him - maybe that's why he was suggested to apply to the tour office. Initially the tour office didn't have a student supervisor, but the principal choose to take a risk and appointed Sunoo to the post after a year of joining the office - it worked out better than expected. All the important visitors to the academy were now personally attended to by Sunoo, with the principal there only as his supervisor in name - the visitors always seemed to be impressed at his ability to make easy conversation at any topic even with basic knowledge without making it awkward - all in all, it helped maintain a good image about the student body at Decelis. Is also a close friend of Rei & Yn's.

☆ Due to his amiable nature and the frequent interactions with people in general, he has quite a few connections both within and outside Decelis.

¤ BEOMGYU

Popularly known as the flowerboy of Decelis, definitely not an official position but one that is quite influential in terms of popularity throughout the academy. He is a goofy guy who loves to tease and have fun with his friends - surprisingly enough though, he is actually quite a good student, obedient and responsible when it comes to his studies and his attitude towards his professors. Despite having the looks, height, a good voice and the popularity that came with it, he never looked down on anyone and although reserved around new people, had good relations with them regardless of them being a part of his friend group or not.

☆ The younger of the two sons of THE CHOI family has been known to be enamored with music since he was born, a "natural born" musician, as he was referred to. He has won quite a few awards and was a national phenomenon making his name in the international domain, to put it lightly - however that is as far as it went, he is said to not have to best relationship with his parents who, while they did set up the best coaches for him in music did not support it as his future career.

¤ LIA

The Queen B and batch representative of her batch at Decelis. The demands and wants of her batch go through her for review before being submitted to the student council for action. Her parents own an international clothing brand, making her rich on top of being smart and pretty - given these qualities, one would think her to be aloof and vain but would be pleasantly surprised to know that she has an overall laid back personality willing to share smiles with anyone who is willing to do the same.

☆ She will do anything to maintain her picture perfect reputation, not that she needs to do anything really - she is already perfect enough !

¤ KARINA

The current president of the dance club at Decelis Academy . She has been a dedicated member of the dance trope at the Decelis branch of educational institutes since a mere age of 6 (that is, upon joining the Decelis Elementary School for the first time). With the credits she has accumulated over the years with her participation in the various dance competitions representing Decilis, she hopes to go on and become a choreographer at Decilis and from there on, open her own studio after having acquired the experience and exposure Decilis provides. She was made the president of the dance club after a year of joining the Academy due to her experience and expertise in the field.

☆ Her family's financial conditions are not the best so her parents understandably wanted her to choose a more 'reliable' career path - were against her career for quite a while before coming to terms with it slowly, after she assured them of the temporary position provided to few students to become a part of the faculty - which usually does end in getting the permanent placement.

I can't believe this topic even needs a post but here you go anyways *drumroll*

WHY ANTHONY AND EDWINA WOULDN'T HAVE WORKED OUT

AGE GAP

i'm assuming edwina is about 17-18y while anthony is 29-30y, which makes them have a 11-12 year age difference - aka, a huge generation gap

i don't know what else to say except that it's like shipping the current kate(26y) with gregory(14y), considering they have the same age gap as edwina and anthony

(y'all really be shipping a teenager with a grown ass middle aged man huh 🤨 insisting that he found her body hot 🤨👏 jesus)

MATURITY GAP

one of the prime reasons why kathony connected was because both of them were forced to mature themselves too early, as a result they understood and found peace with one another

edwina on the other hand is still a teenage, and would likely go through maturing as a normal person, without the positionboth kate and anthony were thrust into - this in turn, will unfortunately make her unable to connect to anthony for most of her life (if they were to get married)

HEIGHT DIFFERENCE

this is just a personal opinion, but like daphne said, anthony somehow felt like he would suit a person who was more his equal

besides the obvious maturity and age range, one of the other reason why kathony suited each other so much was bcoz of how close in height kate sharma was with anthony

edwina on the other hand, when she stood besides anthony, felt more like a daughter he was about to debut into high society (her soft facial features as compared to kathony further prove this take)

SEXUAL OR ROMANTIC ATTRACTION TOWARDS EACH OTHER

"anthony found edwina hot enough to consider her as a wife"

respectfully please stop

i'm convinced every attempt edwants take to mention how anthony probably found edwina hot is just to convince themselves to stay rooted in their delusions

the only reason anthony 'choose to court' edwina was because she was named the diamond; imo he would have courted anyone in that 💎 position, provided it wasn't eloise, pen or cressida

the closest thing to 'hot' that he thought about edwina is probably that she has a pleasant face - in other words, you can find someone to be good looking but that necessarily doesn't mean you are attracted to them, which is exactly the case for anthony

edwina too, I believe wasn't really interested in anthony beyond him being handsome and being a viscount (pay attention to the proposal scene she says "I'll be your viscountess" instead of just "yes ill marry you" - maybe I'm looking too much into this but it felt like she was primarily more interested at the life a viscountess had to offer than in anthony)

moreover, you can see in all their scenes together (which again, was always chaperoned), there is never really any sexual tension or romantic feelings in the air - wherever they talked, the most it felt like it was an amiable friendship or I dare say, acquaintance

DIFFERENT TEMPERAMENTS

if you haven't already noticed, anthony and edwina are quite different in their temperaments

let's take for eg. anthony has a natural inclination to be competitive, on the other hand, edwina rather be in a environment which is cooperative

anthony is a bit brazen, once he puts his mind to something no one can stop him from acting towards it, even if the ton deems it to be scandalous - as long as he knows his cause to be right, he could care less about what the ton of him

edwina, on the other hand schools her behavior to fit the ton - she is calculated in the way that she knows she has to put on pretenses to fit in and survive within the tons judgement - you can see in various scenes whenever she is uncomfortable or upset, she hardly ever let's it show in her tone, chooses instead to be polite in all her interactions with the society

now one can say opposites attract, however in real life such marriages or relationships do not really last long - all healthy relationships need both partners to have something in common, be it their personality or their interests - for edwina and anthony, one of the only legit thing they had in common from the start was the death of their fathers at a young age

this is why I think, their marriage would have been doomed from the start - things would have been a bit different if they had even a bit of spark between them, but they didn't - if married, anthony would have been distant and miserable and edwina would have been lonely and miserable

the only saving garce would have been a child between them, but knowing anthony, he would have either not touched her (and put his brothers children as the inheritors of the viscountcy) or even if he did, he would have done it quickly while imagining someone else, wishing that when the child was born it shared the blood of someone else (and honestly yall have to be too cruel to wish this upon someone)

FAMILY BONDING

all throughout the show we have seen that, despite his sometimes dickish behavior, he cares about his family quite deeply, sacrificing most of his youth to take care of the viscountcy so that none of his family members feel loss of their father, atleast in financial terms

in the mere age of 18, he made sure that none felt the need to give up the life they previously had just because their father was not there anymore - he made sure all of them lived comfortably while still maintaining the level of influence they had while the 9th viscount was still alive - he did that all because he wanted the others to suffer just a little less than him

so it isn't surprising that he would want someone who would get along with his family and match the sort of wild spirit they seemed to have - I can give you my word, diamond or not he wouldn't have married someone who didn't care or his family didn't approve of (imo kate was the only unique case, if he would have to marry, it would be kate or no one else)

edwina, while everyone did treat her with respect and care - the bridgerton siblings were awkward with her, simply bcoz their vibes didn't match, they were somewhat too competitive even for trivial things than what she would have expected or been comfortable with - and honestly no can can blame her for this; people are complex, you either hit it off or you don't, there's no in between - if you don't have the spark now, chances are you won't have it even if you have known or met them a whole lot of times

so yes, if they did marry, edwina would have been a bit lonely since she was unable to connect with the family well as she would have liked - the only companion she might have had from the bton siblings would have been francesca, who seemed to be somewhat quiet, a little less competitive and bold unlike her brothers and sisters

ANTHONY'S PRIORITY

it seemed incredibly clear by the end of the season that kate to anthony was as much important to him as his family, if not more

his family was in the brink of ruin, with not one but two big scandals threatening to forever change the social footing they had in the ton - but for the first time anthony didn't care, he danced with kate in front of the entire tons judgement - he knew just how scandalous that was but he was ready to do it all for kate

so it is a good thing, I assure you, that kate was a good person who cared and got along with his family as much as anthony did

now let me ask you

would he have given up this much for edwina? unfortunately no - he would have ofcourse provided and cared for her if he had been his wife, but! he would have never put her needs above his family (if you still think he would have done so - sorry, he wouldn't have, yall are just in denial at this point)

Respectfully, when I mean they butchered her character I compare her with how she was in the books

Imo out of all the characters from TVWLM (book), she was one of my favs - I not only loved edwina as a character but also her relationship with Kate - even with her few scenes that she had, she managed to catch my attention solely bcoz of how wholesome she was

Now they push aside this characterisation of Edwina to give us whatever the hell the show gave us and for whatttt?? (if bridgerton ruined one of ur favs with bad writing I don't think you would be celebrating either)

With the excuse of making her less of a plot device than in the books they made her foundation of being a plot device even more stronger - so yes, I'm rightfully angry at how they butchered her character

Also who says I don't blame Anthony? - half of the shit that took place is his fault

BRIDGERTON S2 opinions

(everyday I wake up and find inconsistencies about the 2nd season of bridgerton as a kathony stan)

THE KATE BLAMING AGENDA

This time it's about the most controversial ep in the season.

I want to bring attention to this line ->

S2, ep6, 23:41 s

(the short confrontation between Kate and Edwina after she runs away from the alter)

Edwina to Kate: you have feelings for him!

This particular sentence just made no sense to me? And this is coming from someone who has repeated the entire scene (from the wedding to the confrontation) a number of times solely to understand how she came to the particular conclusion (and being unsuccessful at every attempt btw)

Yes, while the conclusion itself is correct - the way she came to it had basically no substance at all ( it very honestly made me remember those math questions in exams where you get the correct answer but with the absolute random steps)

Why i think so?

Bcoz all throughout the scene it was Anthony who did all the shit that eventually made Edwina figure out what was going on

1) Staring at Kate who was behind Edwina at the alter instead of focusing on her who was his bride

the archbishop asks anthony to repeat after him but anthony doesn't cause he's busy imagining Kate wearing the wedding dress and marrying him - Edwina notices when she turns to look where Anthony's attention was

2) Not knowing what to do after Edwina break his trance during the wedding

after Anthony had broken the daydream he was in after being caught in 4k by edwina, he basically looks around trying to get an idea what he missed - he fumbles because guess what? this guy who was going to be her husband any minute doesn't know shit about what was going on in his OWN WEDDING

Edwina has to sharply (you can easily see how tense she was here) remind him what he was supposed to do

"Yes ofcourse" he says but doesn't stop looking at Kate

3) PICKING UP THE DAMN BANGLEEEEE

Does it even need an explanation at this point?

Anthony, the same guy who was so listless when his own wedding is going on - but now a bangle falls, Kate's bangle - and his response is prompt

I feel like in this scene he subconsiously just told Edwina, "I don't care how unnecessary this is but I'm gonna do it I'm gonna pick up this damn bangle and no one can stop me"

Like please, Kate is perfectly able to pick up the bangle herself but does he care? No

4) "ALLOW ME"

When both Kate and Anthony are crouched down and Anthony picks up the bangle...

"Allow me" he says as he hands Kate the bangle

This whole ordeal could have been done in 3-4 secs max but it instead takes about 10s max and WHY??? bcoz Anthony is busy staring at Kate again - mans was literally caressing her hand in slowmo 😭 while returning the bangle and didn't let go of it till they were halfway standing up

Now then? What did we find out?

Basically that it was ALL ANTHONY'S ACTIONS

So yes, when I say ep6 was a fever dream that I wished didn't actually happen - its bcoz of these scenes.

But hold on!

It however would have made perfect sense if the sentence was phased like this

"I saw what was going on! He has feelings for you!"

the unspoken words here would have been "I saw those looks! I saw those actions! You have something going on between you both!"

Here I could have actually sympathized with her bcoz she after all felt betrayed - she was about to get married but she finds out her soon to be husband has feelings for her sister? Here she blames Kate, yes - but definitely blames Anthony too (which is again, very different for the og line and the feeling conveyed through it)

But when she says "you have feelings for him!" to Kate, I'm just like

Cause deadass what did Kate even do??? 😭 she was literally just standing there like🧍‍♀️baby that was all Anthony Hornypants and you know it 🤌

So yeah, when people complain about how we kathony stans are so protective of Kate - do you ever see the senerio from our side? Well I don't think so

Half of this show was basically

BRIDGER -how can we make kate feel bad- TON

And this scene was a prime example of this. Edwina could have gone off on Anthony about his conduct or shown him atleast a fraction of her anger but no 😂 let's blame it all on Kate! Let's let Anthony fuck around and blame it all on Kate.

After all...

It's always easier...

BRIDGERTON S3 predictions

For kathony stans like myself - here's some predictions i have on the our fav couple's screentime in s3.

I know for a fact many kathony stans are waiting for s3 only and only to get a glimpse of married kathony (after being reduced to a subplot in their own season) - but very seriously speaking, being too hopeful about it will only bring us bigger disappointment. Let me explain :

Besides the romance between Penelope and Colin there will be two main important subplots - one involving the featheringtons after the whole cousin Jack fiasco and Colin finding out about the whole scheme (ep8) (which I assume will continue on by showing us how they navigate about the mess and how it affects their societal and personal relationships).

And the other involving the relationship between Penelope and Eloise after she discovers the identity of LW (in ep8) - this ofcourse has the biggest possibility of bringing about the main drama of s3 - considering after all Colin is involved in the whole "romancing thing".

In all these plots, there is, as much as I'd hate to admit, hardly any need of solid kathony screentime (meaning -> they might be in the background but not in the foreground as much we'd like).

The only time kathony is actually needed might be the time when the secret identity of LW is finally revealed to the public and Colin needs the blessings of Anthony to carry on his relationship with Penelope. Also as much I would like it not to be true, there is more chance of just Anthony (with ofcourse some kate in there) than kathony as a whole.

Lastly I can only pray that we get more wholesome kathony scenes (from the total screentime they get) as compared to the whole angst (Anthony refusing to give his blessings to polin due to all the dirty laundry that LW aired which affected the Bridgertons, causing a rift between the brothers) im assuming is gonna come.

BRIDGERTON S2 opinions

After watching bridgerton s2 on repeat - atleast some specific scenes, I have decided that MARY SHARMA WAS A STEPMOTHER.

(I will keep this short)

I want to bring attention to this line ->

ep8 36:36 s (the talk between Kate and Mary after Anthony askes Kate to marry him for the first time)

Mary to Kate: Edwina forgives you, I forgive you

For once let's not talk about Edwina, a teenage girl (who I still have a bone to pick with btw but let's forget abt that for a sec) but Mary, a grown ass woman who doesn't know the harm her words can do.

Why exactly does she say "I forgive you"? In Edwina's case I can understand but Mary? What are you forgiving Kate for?

For carrying on the Sharma family since she was about 18? For still understanding Mary's absentism during this time while she was herself also grieving her father's death? And never ever complaining about it?

For the forced parentification Kate had to go through? Raising Edwina all by herself all these years to the best of her capabilities? Imo excluding her personality, Kate really actually made Edwina one of the most qualified women in the marriage mart based on her skills (which again, she taught Edwina herself.

For managing the whole family's finances? If Mary was atleast helping Kate all these years I can guarantee you Kate would have consultated or atleast told her about the deal with the Sheffields - but since Mary never there to support her, Kate felt responsible for every burden they had. She felt compelled to manage her family out of every situation without anyone's help.

During this time, it was obvious Kate subconsiously wanted to hear Mary say "No its not your fault - you have done everything you could for this family" or atleast smth along those lines. Kate wanted reassurance, she was crying for fuck's sake, she wanted atleast her 'mother' to tell that that she hasn't completely failed her whole family (💔).

But instead what does Mary say? Out of everything she could have said? I FORGIVE YOU

This is basically an indirect way of telling kate "YES I BLAME YOU FOR EVERYTHING BUT I FORGIVE YOU" and I'll never not hate her more.

But what do I hate the most? The absolute lack of genuine female relationships - Edwina wasn't enough, they had to make Mary live up to the STEPMOTHER STEREOTYPE.
