I was just making some lemon tarts when the seedless lemons I bought from the supermarket and the w/ seed lemons my friend gave me made me think about how since beginning of time seeds allowed for human to plant more fruits to sustain themselves but with how much more seedless varieties there suddenly are nowadays, I can't help but wonder if it's all part of capitalism to control where we get our food from and who we give our resources to so the corporations can slowly take away our power by taking away our ability to provide for ourselves without being dependent on pleasing a man in a suit so he can pay us minimum wage.
maybe I'm thinking too deeply abt this but I still remember being able to count so many stars in the sky as a child but now I'd be lucky to count even 3. It feels like so many beautiful things has been available to us for free for so many years is suddenly being taken away for profit and convenience even though the land, sky and sea belongs to no one but the Earth and we are simply here to experience what it has to offer us
I honestly don't know how I can live my life to the fullest when the sky I see is empty and the soil I feel is like that of powder

Feels like I had an epiphany reading this.
I'd been trying to parse the "meaning" of Chapter 4 for a bit. It seems to do a kind of bait and switch where Gerson comes back wrong in Susie's church dark world, as if it's winding up to teach the lesson that people are talking about (Susie needing to learn that things can't last forever). Maybe there's some of that, but it undercuts that message by having Gerson come back to inspire the three heroes to dunk on the Titan.
Reading this, I thought of a line from Bly Manor of all things: "Dead doesn't mean gone." Gerson is dead in the light world, but in the dark world, the world of imagination where dreams and nightmares come to life, he lives on. A text is dead in the sense that the original text itself is unchanging, but it lives on in the people it inspires, in the stories that are born from it, again and again.
"chapter 4 is about susie learning things can't last forever" so we're just saying words recreationally at this point.
gerson is not gone. i will eat my own shoe otherwise. I'm not sure how he'd come back, since he was introduced with a very specific narrative purpose and he achieved it within chapter 4's storyline, but he's not Gone. his mere existence acts as counter evidence to Ralsei's claim that darkners are unpersons, and the idea that they're "less real" and thus less important than the lightners.
well... if that's true, here's a lightner revived as a darkner. a darkner with all the memories, regrets, appearance, personality and goals as what qualifies as a "real person". here's tangible proof that darkners are as capable of personhood as lightners. if you think darkners don't matter, why can gerson exist in the first place? he's a character who blurs the lines between light and darkness. lightner and darkner. author and character, creator and created.
there's a reason deltarune has him dead and "buried" in the cemetery before the game even starts, next to snowdrake's mother and shyren's sister and the leader of the dogs. it's thematically tying him to the concept of the amalgamates. the medical horror plotline in undertale that's a subversion of the trope that dead things should stay dead and that abominations like them should be "put out of their misery". THEIR personhood and freedom and right to return home and be loved by their families in their unconventional state is at the heart of the True Lab.
when gerson asks susie what ending she has in mind and she replies "i wouldn't end it", he cackles with delight and tells her to hold onto that belief dearly when she writes the continuation of their story. his one wish, in life just as in death, was for the new generation to keep creating. he draws a doodle of the fun gang, hands it to susie, and she gives it back by drawing him into the story. in what world is the takeaway from all this that gerson should stay dead and will never return again.
#idk is this something#i could keep rambling but i'm at work right now lol#just had to get this typed somewhere it was rattling around in my skull since i read op's post might edit later#deltarune#deltarune spoilers

Finally finished chapter 4 tonight and I'm reeling, crazy tone shift from the rest of the game to this point! What a great, heart wrenching ending.
My current feeling is that Carol is the Knight. Dess is either dead or gone deep into the darkness, and everything that's happening is Carol desperately trying to get her daughter back. From the sound of it, Kris was recruited by her to help, hence the "don't forget, you promised" at the very end.
There's still so much game left I know any assumptions I make could be proven wildly wrong, but boy is it going to be fun to bury myself in the theories in the meantime!
#also pleased to see that kris is definitively not the roaring knight#maybe vindictive of me but i saw some very smug people right before release insisting that they were right about the kris-knight theory#i feel really bad for thinking so harshly about kris and ralsei#i do keep falling into the trap of equating kris with chara and chapter 3 really called my ass out with that food quiz question#i figured ralsei knew more than he was saying but i had no clue why#seeing him cry made me cry fr#also grats to soriel shippers on the huge win#there's just so much i'm so excited to see what fans say and what comes next for this game#deltarune#deltarune spoilers

From the OP: "If you sit at a desk or stare at your phone all day, this is for you. Here's how to undo the damage: - Banded Chin Tucks - Strengthen your neck flexors and fight forward head posture - Banded Pull-Aparts - Target your rotator cuff and improve shoulder stability - Banded Abduction - Activate the midline of your scapula for better posture - Lateral Deltoid Raises - Build shoulder stability and control - Banded Up-and-Overs – Boost scapular mobility and range of motion These simple banded drills will help you stand taller, move better, and feel stronger - even after hours at a desk."
Some of these are the same or similar to the exercises my physical therapist taught me.
