i don't have much outside of artfight, but here's a little something from a newer wip

And for a moment, they stare back. Very briefly, to look at Chris square in the face. It’s scary, the way it happens— Chris usually keeps zir head down, shoulders slumped to make zir even smaller than ze already is, shields as high as possible. Being seen like this is like being cracked open. Wind blowing in your insides. You don’t have to breathe, because oxygen enters your cells directly. Open-door policy. It startles zir enough that zir fingers twitch. Ze looks at the piercing at their eyebrow and thinks about ripping it off.

Did Sidestep embark on their hero journey because of a strong innate desire to be good, or did they see a hero in action (Ortega?) while on one of their missions and realize "this is what I want to be"?

The hero journey is all Ortega’s fault, they are the one that made the vague ‘I want to be better’ feelings click. And why things are so complicated.

And finally working on something I can share~ July has been so stupid so far but we're getting there! \m/ I’ve been working on a post-Nanosurge comic about Vendetta falling back into playing the piano (at least while at the Ranch). It's very silly but I've been having fun drawing Vendetta’s old Farm days intermixing with the present, and making all the faces. I love drawing expressions, I can't lie. xD

I was working on Anathema’s wig earlier during a thunderstorm. Not sure if it’s the ~*final*~ version but it’s pretty cute atm! 🥰

It’s July! Which means I’m either doing artfight or fighting for for my life to recover from my workweek djjdksjs but I do have a couple wips I’ve been working on in the in betweens. Carmen is more implied in the first one but have 2 Alex/Carmen sketches going on and I’m playing around with a Rook/Taash fic as well

They take her hand in theirs, weaving their fingers together, "that's messed up, you know? That they treated you like that."

"Not really when you think about it," Rook sighs, "Qunari living in Tevinter? They just wanted to keep me safe and away from any unsavoury attention."

"But it still messed you up."

"I think I'm perfectly un-messed up thank you," Rook laughs. It's easier to crack a joke and move on than dwell on it, this wasn't supposed to go this far, and it's a shitty method of cheering them up otherwise.

Taash shifts, twisting their head and shoulders around to be looking up at her. "Nah, you're pretty messed up." They pause, expression as neutral as ever before giving way to a slight smile. "But you're good like that. Means you get it."
