AU where that's cassian undercover as 'keef girgo'. he was on a rebel mission to meet a turncoat ISB agent on a fairly small, quiet planet (mayhaps.... alderaan), but ended up getting into some trouble and is arrested for some minor infraction. and cassian has known for a long time that imperial prisons are a complete dead end that nobody returns from, but he doesn't quite comprehend the psychology of it, until he's there, working a twelve hour shift on table five.

honestly i really wanted to see cassian be more morally grey and go on kill missions because i remember those qualities standing out when i first watched rogue one, like wow yeah finally a character showing that you have to follow orders and bloody your hands in a revolution in order for it to be successful!! and then andor season 2 yeeted that into the sun

i am genuinely confused at why we didn't get cassian DOING SPY STUFF. he goes undercover a couple times but like.... what about his network of informants and the implication in r1 that he has done some really shady shit for the rebellion?

im so confused. this is already a prequel. there's no other prequel coming. this was the last chance to do some fun stuff with cassian and you waste it making him a pale imitation of han/jyn
