not trying to invalidate your request, but it seems redundant to specify "romantic f/o" when the whole purpose of specifying if a f/o is platonic or familial is because "f/o" is short for "fictional other" as in a play on "significant other"- an inherently romantic term.

In response to this encouragement to other selfship imagine makers to overtly specify what type of f/o they're talking about so readers don't get their hopes up when they assume wrong

Thank you, I'm glad you brought up this point, although sad you didn't feel comfortable enough to speak openly although I understand why and don't blame you for it. Since we are talking in definitions and connotations, allow me to acknowledge that firstly. Yes, 'significant other' has always been implied to be a romantic term.

However, I am going to be pedantic now given we are dissecting words and terms although really, what I am about to say has always been a given once we dive into it. When you take the term itself- 'significant other', it's no different than merely calling someone special, which does apply to friendships, family relationships, and queerplatonic relationships--- in short, removing that socially enforced connotation, anyone can be a significant other to someone else without it being a romantic relationship. Why else call an F/O a familial F/O-- a familial fictional other.

You see what I mean? The entire selfship system is set up so that familial, platonic, romantic, queerplatonic, pet--- they all include the term 'F/O'. They all technically can be reduced to 'F/O' but we don't do that because that would be confusing, hence why we put 'familial' 'platonic' 'romantic' 'queerplatonic' 'pet' etc. in front to distinguish between them. The term 'F/O' should not inherently mean Romantic because it is only one type out of many and to say it should is putting it above the other types of F/Os that are out there and I think, having said that, you can understand why that isn't okay.

Related and, referring back to what I said in my post, not everyone has or wants a romantic fictional other, thus me making that post in the first place saying it would be beneficial to be clear when talking about what type of F/O an imagine maker has in mind instead of just saying 'Imagine your F/O'.

Because not everyone has or wants a romantic F/O, those people tend to see the term 'F/O' and automatically assume according to their own personal biases that the post in question will be something they can apply to their family and friend F/Os only to be disappointed/frustrated when they realise it is a romantic f/o post that, if it had been labeled, they wouldn't be disappointed or frustrated.

It only takes a second to add in 'Romantic' into a 'Imagine your F/O--' imagines post and from a tumblr space organization perspective, being specific helps readers find what they're looking for easier- an 'F/O imagine' tag will be muddled with all sorts of F/O types mentioned but a 'Romantic F/O' tag won't.

Ultimately, it'll genuinely help people avoid getting their hopes up for nothing-- we all need a little kindness whenever we can get it. 🍭 do you enjoy sweet little treats?

Yes. I like to eat them with tea. I think my favorites would be strawberry sweets made with some type of dough, like mochi or donuts. Akari often makes ice cream, cookies and other sweets that I also like.

🎩 if you were to switch outfits with (one of) your companion(s) right now do you think you'd like wearing their clothes? would it even fit?

She's wearing winter clothes, they looks comfortable so i wouldn't mind, even if I don't normally wear light pinks like her. Most of it would fit okay, since it's bigger than her actual size and pretty loose.

🐯 would you rather fight 100 baby sized tigers or one tiger sized baby?

I think fighting a tiger-sized baby would be easier, babies can't strategize and I've fought villains bigger than tigers. But babies are very sensitive to temperature, so my quirk may really hurt it... I'd fight the 100 tigers, I don't want to fight a baby.

miku is one of those friends who is deep and intense all the time...light moments just don't really happen with her. i could be complaining about the most miniscule of things and i'd look over to miku and she'll have the most soul-absorbing fond look on her face i've ever seen. she talks carefully, and every word is a punch to the gut. she holds my hand like she's pulling me up from a cliffside, nevermind that we're in a walmart parking lot. she is yanking at the deepest parts of anyone's soul at any given moment.

🛍️: How would you describe your f/os fashion sense? If they wear a uniform/are from a different time period, what do you think they would dress like?

"Comfy, wintery clothing in soft blues or monochrome" Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't think I've seen Todoroki wear any color besides blue... (Well beside an official winter art where he's wearing a red snow jacket) I'm not sure if this is canon or headcanon but I think Fuyumi bought most of his clothes, so I don't think he has any strong sense of style himself. 📺: What would you watch on TV together?

Baking and cooking shows, probably. Also a lot of movies, specially animated ones. I think he'd love Ghibli films, and Megamind haha. We'd also watch a lot of iconic and classic live-action films neither of us experienced yet.

🌿: Is there a smell you associate with your f/o? Why?

Hm... I don't think so. I'm not really associate people with smells unless it's something they literally use like a perfume or shampoo.

🔮: Do you or your f/o believe in the supernatural?

Neither of us are like super into it or really implement that stuff in our belief systems. But considering Japan seem to have a lot of spirtiual legends and stuff and Todoroki seems fairly interested in his culture, I think he's open to believe spirits are real. (Also he has fire and ice powers because of a shiny baby years ago, honestly supernatural stuff seems kinda normal in comparasion LMAO) For my part, I'm open to such things existing and i'm scared of ghosts lol
