Since my other posts criticizing billionaires started controversy on whether or not “progressive” and “charitable” ones are better than the rest, I’ll lay it out simple:

There is nothing stopping the world’s richest people from combatting poverty at its source except the cheap labor they know they and their friends need to exist.

I repeat: The reason billions of people are living in destitution despite an abundant amount of wealth is because capitalism is reliant on it. Billionaires are reliant on it. Bill Gates will not go to Bangladesh and campaign for wage increases and safety standards for multinational corporations responsible for the collapse of the Rana Plaza, which killed thousands of innocent people. Warren Buffett will not consult the World Bank about its manipulation of global poverty statistics, which is responsible for the narrative that what these multinational corporations do is just.

That’s because like anything under capitalism, charity is an investment. Billionaires investing in charity do so expecting a profit in return. Economic imperialism; cheap labor, is the reason we have such extreme inequality around the world.

If billionaires cared, they’d stop being the imperialists in chief, knowingly befriending and investing in corporations and their leaders responsible for what horrors we witness under capitalism.

It’s just business to them, and human life is a cost-benefit analysis.

Instead of angrily defending them, think about their motives.

•I’m not ace/aro anymore. May have been a past label but things change u kno? I’m still questioning but I’d say bi or pan

But whether this blog was linked or not I’ve had lot less depressive episodes outside of communities that were very argumentative, harmful and exhausting. Yeah mainly that was insta teens w their edgy reverse racism opinions but I want to cut ALL my discourse wayyyyyy down.

I find it hard to believe that you spend your free time going around and asking homophobic straight people their opinions on aros and aces.

Your viewpoint on this pretty much comes from “I personally haven’t witnessed or observed any anti-aspec actions in the small personal bubble I call my world”, which is the same ridiculous “if I don’t see it it’s not real” viewpoint that climate change deniers use.

And instead of being like “Wait a minute, I don’t know everything, it’s entirely possible that Aphobia is far far more common than I believe it is, the fact that aces and aros aren’t being hunted down like animals right in front of me doesn’t actually mean anything”, Ya’ll went and found a bunch of people with the same viewpoint and went “Oh well, herd mentality, if we all think the same, we must be right!”

And then it’s like, what do you base this “no oppression” thing on?? Did ya’ll just google “what laws oppress aceys” and when you got nothing, started screaming that Aphobia isn’t real??

Or is it that you aren’t seeing articles about violence against a-spec’s? Because every time a minority member gets attacked, they report it, straight away, and it always gets published in a big news story!! #Sarcasm

And then because of these preconceived notions, your bias allows you to reject every personal story about aphobia that crosses your dash.

I’ve literally told an Exclusionist that my partner, who is gay and trans, was physically assaulted for being Ace, and they went “Are you SURE it wasn’t because they were gay and trans?”

Like ?????? Yes I’m fucking sure???

Lol OK yeah, that might seem easy to someone who’s inputting their discourse opinion for kicks, but for the people whose identities are the topic of discourse, its not fucking simple like that.

Discourse is about our lives. Our rights to particular treatment, hell sometimes our right to EXIST. It sure would be fucking nice to completely ignore all that going on, but fact is, I cannot afford to. I cannot afford to ignore people discussing why I deserve bad treatment or to not exist. I don’t have that privilege.

And yes, I can no platform, I can cut down the amount of bullshit I’m seeing, but there’s still an urgency and a sense of necessity towards defending myself and the people in my communities from assholes who have a history of fucking ruining our lives. Ignoring discourse doesn’t make the problems go away, or the bad treatment. Its a serious place of privilege to think that it works like that.

…And when it comes to activism and relations within a marginalized group, it’s important to note that it’s never appropriate to throw people who fit stereotypes under the bus (because this is usually in order to clean up their appearance as a whole to cater to the oppressor).

People who fit stereotypes are just living, breathing, and being. They never asked for their identity and characteristics (that may or may not be a source of pride for said group) to be weaponized by the oppressor and used to dehumanize their entire group.

Usually an attempt to distance yourself from those who fit your group’s stereotypes is rooted in you wanting approval from the oppressor. That’s not activism.
