I’m back.

I guess the bugs took over while I was away, and I only just got around to redecorating. I don’t suppose anyone still pays attention to these updates, but my vacation was fine, thanks for asking. I took a very long and much-needed break, but I am back (for the time being). Heroics are exhausting and unappreciated, so I’m only handling urgent business.

Ahhh, a gyrgen. They were from the seventeenth planet amalgamated with the Swarm. Rather primitive before they became enlightened to the ways of the Swarm, but generally useful for intimidation tactics despite the pacifistic nature for which they had been known. As vessels, their connection to the mind coalescence is strangely sensitive, likely a result of the delicacy of their focal organ for nervous activity. We are currently in the process of removing any inconveniences in such vessels. Sensory organs that process sound are far less relevant when most if not all imput is streamed through the nervous system and any vibrations within reach. Generally, such irritants as sounds generated by external sources are much more easily filtered out, and as such are of little detriment. At most, your pitiable wails are a minor headache to the Swarm as a whole, though a few vessels may find it to be unpleasant.

Mainly for information. It is how we gain knowledge and technology. As far as recent human assimilation, we had little to no knowledge of planetary customs and languages. Admittedly, it was in poor taste to assimilate anyone less than willing, but it was necessary for our current objective.
