It’s been more than 24 hours after my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
I feel tired, sore and achey, but immensely grateful.
Twelve years ago I completed a marathon. Like an actual one - the whole 26.2 miles and everything. Immediately afterwards I felt so amazed by my body and what it can do.
Almost 3 years ago I gave birth to a healthy beautiful boy after 12 hours of labor not including the extra 5 hours of pushing to bring him into this world. Our bodies are amazing.
Today my body is exhausted and sore. My lymph nodes are swollen and my body aches like it’s on a slow simmering fire. My immune system is working so hard to create antibodies and I am so thankful.
Thankful for my body and what it can do. Thankful for science. Thankful for the vaccine and thankful for the opportunity to receive it.
My heart is so full as I rest tonight.
