You and your friends trudged up the many many steps to the Carpenter sister’s apartment. You were at a party with your girlfriend and her friends when a drunk frat guy decided to get a little handsy. Luckily for you or more like lucky for him Sam showed up. Sam tasing him was generous because if you had gotten your hands on him for what he was about to do with Tara you would have beaten the shit out of him.
Sam also showing up meant Tara had been caught. Meaning you were now all in trouble for going to the party. Chad and his roommate Ethan took up the rear, while Mindy and her girlfriend Anika, held hands giggling and walking as close together as they could get as if they were in their own little world. You were in front of them while your girlfriend and her sister led the way, arguing, like usual.
You had been holding Tara’s hand, but she really liked gesturing wildly when she got into it with Sam, so she eventually dropped your hand. You tried intervening a few times but after Sam stopped, turning her furious glare onto you, you quickly shut your mouth and dropped your eyes to the ground. Sam wasn’t the biggest fan of you already and as much as you wanted to stick up for your girlfriend, even though you agreed with her sister to an extent, you didn’t want to add any more reasons for Sam to hate you. You knew Tara didn’t care about Sam’s opinions when it came to you, but you still wanted the older Carpenter to like you, at this point you were grasping at anything to win you points.
When you got to the apartment you all piled in, you and Anika dropping onto the couch, Ethan shuffling himself into a chair off to the side. Sam quickly locked the several locks on the door before moving into the kitchen with the other three. You could hear the core four as Chad had stupidly nicknamed them all whisper arguing about the night’s events. Quinn slipped out of her room after hearing the commotion you all must have been making and plopped herself down in the other chair.
Your eyes had drifted to the TV that Anika had turned on though she kept the volume muted. You weren’t paying attention until you noticed it wasn’t just a normal boring news report.
“Hey guys,” you shouted getting the others’ attention. “You need to see this.” You reached for the remote, turning up the volume as the others re-entered the room.
Everyone was silent as the story played. Some college students were killed and a Ghostface mask was left at the scene.
“Oh, hey it’s those weird guys from class,” you commented when the news threw up a picture of the two students who were killed. “That one,” you pointed to the picture that had the name Jason under it, “is the creepy one that always stares at you.” You turned to give Tara a I told you so look.
“He didn’t stare at me,” Tara weakly defended.
“He paid more attention to you than to the class.”
“How would you know?” Tara raised a brow. “Unless you weren’t paying attention either.”
“I’m your girlfriend,” you put a hand to your heart. “When I stare at you it’s adorable.”
Tara didn’t say anything more, she just playfully rolled her eyes.
Tara had turned her attention back to the TV, but you couldn’t take your eyes off her. The class you shared with the weird Jason kid was where you first met Tara. She sat next to you and despite it being the first day you were completely unprepared, you had asked her to borrow a pen then ten seconds later asked for a sheet of paper.
After that first class you slowly started trying to talk to her during quiet moments of class or if you were lucky and she got there early enough before class. You could listen to her all day discuss the deeper meaning of her ‘elevated’ horror movies.
You were sitting in the very spot you were now on her couch a few months ago. You had come over to Tara’s place to work on a paper for class, she was hesitant because her sister didn’t like unknown guests, but she said since her sister would be at therapy it would be fine. And you were fine, quietly working on your paper, stealing subtle glances at Tara.
You had been crushing on her hard since you first saw her but didn’t have the courage to do anything about it. With her history you weren’t sure she wanted anything more than friendship. During one of your subtle glances though you caught Tara openly staring at you. You dropped your pen, turning with the intention to ask if everything was okay when she leaned forward, grabbing you by the back of the head and pulling you into a kiss.
You instantly reciprocated the kiss, turning your body to fully face her. You brought up both of your hands, running them through her hair. You could feel her smile into the kiss as she pulled you closer, deepening the kiss even more.
You broke away, lightly laughing when you needed air. You shyly looked at Tara, despite the fact that you had just been making you, you saw her wearing the same smile as you.
“Sorry,” she said. “I waited so long, and it didn’t seem like you were ever going to make a move.”
You silently laughed, nodding before pulling her in for another kiss. You repositioned so you were kneeling on the couch, Tara doing the same. She started to slip your jacket off, neither of you breaking the kiss. You were both so caught up you didn’t hear the door open. You didn’t break apart until someone angrily cleared their throat, followed by a loud door slam.
You both jumped apart. You pulled your jacket back on, clearing your throat as if you hadn’t just been caught doing what you were about to do. You glanced towards the door to see Tara’s sister fuming.
“Sam,” Tara said, trying to sound casual. “You’re home early. How was therapy?”
You didn’t move, you didn’t say anything, you couldn’t take your eyes off of Sam. You had just been making out with Tara and now her sister was home and blocking your only path out. She hadn’t acknowledged her sister in any way, she just continued to glare at you.
“Get out,” is the only thing Sam said.
You quickly shot to your feet, throwing your stuff into your bag, and swinging the strap over one shoulder, not bothering to zip the bag up. You turned to Tara, smiled, and gave a thumbs up, then quickly scurried out of the apartment as Sam stepped out of the way, opening the door for you. You didn’t turn back but you could feel Sam’s burning gaze in the back of your skull. She hadn’t stopped glaring at you to this day.
You were brought back to the present when you heard Tara gasp and saw her eyes widen. You turned back to the TV and saw it.
“Holy shit,” you said, leaning forward to make sure you were seeing correctly. “That’s our film studies professor.”
The news reporter continued, saying how your professor was found stabbed to death in an alley. Then went on to say that the knife used was found in Jason’s apartment with his prints on it.
“Damn, I guess class is cancelled next week,” you said. You turned to say something else, but Tara was giving you a deadpanned look while Sam was once again glaring at you. You really needed to learn to shut up sometimes.
“We’re leaving, pack your stuff,” Sam announced, breaking her silence for the first time.
“Wait, what?” Tara asked. “We don’t even know if this has anything to do with us. It’s Halloween, there are thousands of people dressed up.” Tara tried to find any excuse to not leave. She turned back to you with a worried look. “Quinn!” she quickly turned to her roommate. “Call your dad, see what he knows.”
Quinn nodded, pulling out her phone. Before Quinn could start the call though another phone rang. Everyone in the room froze. All heads turned to Sam as she fished out her phone from her back pocket.
Tara moved closer to her sister, looking down at the phone. They both just stared at it in Sam’s hand as it continued to ring, no one moving to answer it.
“Ooh,” you said excited, jumping up from the couch. You reached out making a grabby hand already. “Give me the phone, I’m great at pissing people off.”
“That’s for damn sure,” Sam mumbled. You pouted but took the phone. She didn’t hand it to you, but she made no move to stop you.
“Hello?” you asked, a smile playing at your lips.
There was heavy breathing on the other end before, “You’re not Samantha.”
“No, sorry, she can’t come to the phone right now. May I take a message?”
“Put Samantha on the phone. I want to play a game with her.”
“Really?” you scrunched up your nose, looking towards Sam. “Have you met her? She’s not much fun.” Sam glared at you. “However, I’m much more fun. I love playing games, especially with her sister.” You winked at Tara who switched to glaring at you as well. You smiled, trying to keep in your laugh.
“Give Samantha the phone or my knife will find a home in your heart.”
“Sorry, my heart is already taken.” You winked at Tara again. She stopped glaring at you but only to roll her eyes at your antics.
“Don’t worry I’ll make sure to carve it out and deliver it her.”
“Well, I have always said the best presents come from the heart.”
“Stupid girl, do you have any idea who you’re talking to?”
“Let’s see, late night phone call, death threats, ominous creepy sounding voice,” you mumbled off. You tilted your head as if you were thinking really hard about who could possibly be on the phone.
“You really have a death wish, don’t you child?”
“Wait wait wait,” you said excitedly. “Wait, am I talking to the one and only Ghostface?” You paused, furrowing your brow as your eyes left the group of friends and drifted up to the ceiling in thought. “Well technically there’s usually two of you and technically you’re like the,” you started silently counting, using your fingers to keep track, “the tenth one? Whatever, anyway, it’s an honor.”
“I will gut you,” Ghostface growled out.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, sure. Can I make a request about my death?” You turned to your friends who were watching you with curious looks, waiting to see what you’d do next. “Just make sure I suffer. I don’t want to go out easy.” You started pacing, your friends now going from curious to concerned. Even Sam seemed concerned, it brought a small smile to your face, maybe this was how you won her over.
“My knife will carve out your insides.”
“Oh my god,” you whispered shyly. “Who told you I was into knife play?”
You turned back to your friends when you heard a cough only to see Chad choking on his water. Mindy was smacking her brother on the back to help him out. He seemed to be trying to keep the water in his mouth through the coughing, but he was clearly failing as the water finally sprayed out of his mouth. You rolled your eyes as Chad doubled over in a coughing fit. Sam and Tara ignored him as they continued to watch you.
“Has anyone ever told you how irritating you are?” Ghostface asked. He was using a voice changer, but you could swear he sounded tired.
“I’m an acquired taste,” you said. You shot your girlfriend a glare as you caught her nodding in agreement. She stopped when she caught your glaring, smiling innocently and mouthing ‘love you’. “Now for my death,” you continued, getting back to the important stuff. “Remember, slow and painful. I’m not just some side character.” You spun around pointing your finger even though you weren’t facing Ghostface. Though when you thought about it, he was probably watching you. “I’m not just some character that’s written off with a quick death. No, I’m the memorable bitch. I might not be the main but I’m the death you remember, you feel me?”
There was a long silence as you waited for his response. Your friends all leaned closer waiting for what would happen next even though they could only hear your side of the conversation. You furrowed your eyebrows when it had been over twenty seconds of silence.
“Hello? Hello?” you asked, pulling the phone away from your ear to look at the screen. “Hmm,” you hummed, tilting your head at the blank screen. “He hung up.”
You sighed, shaking your head as you turned back to your friends. You held out your hand, handing the phone back to Sam as you saw the shocked expressions of your friends. Everyone was staring at you wide eyed and mouths agape.
“So, does this mean I won or that I’m gonna die even more horribly than originally planned?” You asked. You raised your eyebrows waiting for a response as they continued to stare at you.
“You got Ghostface to hang up on you,” Mindy said in disbelief.
You shrugged. “I just have a way with some people.”
“Okay, I think it’s time we called it a night,” Sam said, pushing off from the dining table she had been leaning against.
“Can Y/N stay the night?” Tara asked, coming to stand by you.
You smiled as Tara wrapped her arms around your mid-section. You quickly put an arm around her, you would never turn down a hug and potential cuddles. You looked up at Sam with a smile. Sam shot you a tired glare, but you kept the smile on.
“Tara,” Sam groaned. “One phone call doesn’t mean I like her.”
You lost your smile, pouting at the older Carpenter. You had thought you did pretty good with the phone call. You had actually kind of enjoyed it, minus all the death threats you got.
“But she’s in danger now,” Tara argued. “If we send her back to her dorm alone then Ghostface can attack her and after that phone call he’s going to kill her horribly and painfully.”
“Wait what?” You asked, you head going back and forth between your girlfriend and her sister.
Sam tilted her head, raising her eyebrows slightly. Her head bounced around as she seemed to debate Tara’s words. You swallowed, gripping Tara a little tighter as you pulled her closer to you. You knew Sam wasn’t the biggest fan of you, but you didn’t think when it came down to your life that it was actually up for debate.
“Sam!” Tara snapped when it seemed like Sam had started to lean more towards sending you on your way.
Sam sighed, rolling her eyes. She had a small smile on her face, a smile she tended to only reserve for Tara when she was messing with her. “Alright, fine,” Sam said. “She can stay the night.” Sam lost her smile as she turned her attention back to you. She slowly made her way closer, glaring at you without blinking. “No funny business,” she pointed her finger threateningly at you. “Or I will throw you out.”
You nodded your head rapidly, letting out a small sigh of relief. Sam smiled sweetly as she turned away from you to face the others, but you could still see the lingering threat in her eyes. You shifted, tightening your grip on Tara again. She looked up at you smiling and despite just being threatened by her sister you couldn’t help but smile back. You were excited to be able to cuddle your girlfriend all night without the worries of waking up early to sneak out.
“Do you guys want to stay as well?” Sam asked the rest of the group.
“Nah, we’re good,” Chad said.
Sam nodded and walked them to the door. Chad and Ethan left, followed by Mindy and Anika who were wrapped up in a hug. Sam instantly got to locking the various locks on the door. Quinn pushed off her chair and went to her room with only a wave as a goodnight.
“Wait,” you said, causing Sam and Tara to look at you. “How much danger am I actually in?”
Sam rolled her eyes. “I’m going to bed,” is all she said. She walked past you and Tara and made her way to her room. “Goodnight!” she called out, giving a final wave of her hand before you heard the room to her door close.
“But seriously, am I next?” you shrieked, leaning back to look Tara in the eye.
Tara bobbed her head back and forth, opening her mouth to say, “Well-”
“Oh god!”
“Baby don’t worry,” Tara placed a hand on your chest in an attempt to comfort you. “I’ll protect you. For now,” she moved out of your embrace, moving her hand down until she could intertwine it with yours. “Let’s enjoy this rare occasion of you not having to sneak out and go cuddle.”
You succeeded in your goal to piss off Ghostface it seemed. Your life was in even more danger than it was before by just dating Tara, Sam willingly allowing you to stay the night at the apartment confirmed that. Though you were reasonably terrified of your potentially upcoming death you couldn’t focus on that. The girl you were crazy about was standing before you and asking you to cuddle. You wordlessly nodded, allowing her to drag you to her room. You would never deny her after all.

Supergirl x Family Issues Chapter 5
A/N: I don't know if I will continue to upload this fanfic or complete it privately so here is the fifth chapter. Have fun reading it ♥
---
Everyone sat at the dinner table and had a great time. Everyone enjoyed the meal, everyone had a few drinks and everyone laughed and talked about God and the world and had fun. Only you didn’t.
You played around with your food, had no appetite and were completely occupied with the thought of your mother. The numbness that you feared and that feeling in the pit of your stomach that made you feel sick all the time was coming back. It was egging it’s way up again and you felt your eyes sting with tears.
A hand on your thigh dropped you back to the present, your tears covering back into their ducts and the numbness disappearing into a small hurtful point in your chest.
It was Lena. Her eyes pierced yours and you could almost feel her checking you up with the bright green emerald eyes. She always knew when you were spacing out, when you were not in the center of the moment and you could swear that she was a psychic hiding her abilities.
“Are you okay?” She whispered, there was a small spark of concern in her voice. You looked at her, tried to form a small smile on your lips that hopefully looked real. You didn't wanted her to know what had happened, you couldn't bother her with your family problems, she had her own to solve for now.
“I’m going to get another drink, does anyone else want another glass?” You skipped the question, knowing damn well that you couldn't lie to the billionaire. You looked at the others and waited for an answer but as nothing came towards you, you stood up a bit shaky and left for the kitchen.
You probably already had a few glasses too much when your sight became like a swaying ship in the ocean.
-Thank you mother for making me drunk and fucking up the whole holiday- you thought to yourself as you shook your head, walking towards the kitchen and pouring yourself another glass of wine.
You stood there alone, howering your look at the table with everyone around, acting like a family and laughing while they enjoyed their meal. But you didn’t feel like sitting at the table and pretending that everything was perfect because it wasn’t at all.
With two huge sips, the glass was empty for the repeated time and you could feel the buzz. Trying to pour the rest of the bottle into your cup, someone gently laid her hand on yours that was resting on the bottle and tried to take it away from you. “I think you already had enough.”
Looking up and meeting the emerald green eyes, you realized Lena was in front of you. The green bright eyes looked worried and sad. But you didn’t care. You felt that void in you again and you had to do something with that anger and pain inside.
You felt your anger egging it’s way up and you firmly squeezed your hand into a fist, your fingernails biting into your palms as your knuckles became white.
Firm taps on your clenched fist made your look up and dissolve your fist. Lena could always tell when you were slipping away and she always helped you back. But this time she couldn’t. It was all too much. Too many people, too many gestures and smiles & too much family.
You felt your throat tighten as you tried to suppress a sob.
“Tell the others I’m gonna get some air, Lee.” You said without emotion as you walked to the door, the jacket of your eldest sister hanging over your arm.
While closing the door, you saw Kara standing up and wanting to ran after you but Lena holding her back with a gentle tug on the blondes arm before you headed out of the apartment onto the cold streets of National City.
A few seconds after you left the building, the door of the entrance squeaked open and let you startle for a moment before the brunette CEO stood behind you. With a small encouraging smile on her painted red lips she shifted next to you and looked down the streets that were just lightened by some lamps.
You rocked on your balls of your feet towards the streets back and forth and Lena knew that motion too well. You were tense, your mood that evening showed agitation, and your behavior indicated unchecked anger.
You somehow figured out on your own that Kara must have told her something or at least had to text her before she came over. The whole evening you noticed that she was staring at you, watching your emotions and facial features, trying to decipher what you felt.
“Kara or Alex?” you simply asked, coldly, slowly turning to her.
“Kara. She told me what happened." she straightened her voice and continued. "She figured, maybe I could help you getting through that situation or at least give you someone to vent if you don't want to talk to them.”
You let out a sharp sarcastic laugh while glancing at her, your cold eyes with small tears that had formed in your eyes fixating her. “Tell Kara I have my emotions under perfect control.”
„Are you?” She placed her arms crosswise under her breast and looked at you with her serious look, her one eyebrow slightly furrowed with worry. “You know you can’t lie to me sweetheart.“
She was so damn right.
Opening and closing your mouth made you wonder where to start. You had no idea what you were feeling except anger, how you were aware of the situation and how to deal with it. "She just stood in the door frame and..was there." you uttered and started to wipe the fallen watery drops from your eyes.
You didn't even know if it was the rain or your emotions.
"And how do you feel about it?" the raven hair asked and looked upwards towards the crying sky. "I don't know.." you said almost inaudible as your voice cracked and disappeared into your mind again, hoping to find an answer. "I think, I feel... Irritated I guess."
The smell of the rain falling was heavy in the cool night air.
"I felt the same when everything started," she stated, looking down to you again, putting an arm around your shoulder to simply show you affection in a lovingly gesture. "I've distracted myself with work and I didn't even realized that it was two days later, I hardly slept and time had just passed by. I've turned into a heartless human because I didn't wanted to be hurt again."
"Maybe that's what I want. Becoming heartless and shutting people down so no one could or would ever hurt me." you whispered as you started to walk away. "I promise you it's going to change. One day, you won't want that anymore and I will be there to keep you from becoming a monster as long as I have to."
She said the last words louder than she wanted so you could hear it and ran up the last few meters until she was in sync with you again. She wouldn't let you alone and you were more than thankful for that.

Supergirl x Family Issues (Chapter 4)
You let the jacket warm you for a bit before you stumbled across the living room to hang the jacket where it belonged. You could feel every single look on your neck, the worried gaze from the blonde and a sad smile from your mother at Alex, showing her that she had done well and didn’t let you alone.
Still, you tried to ignore it as much as possible.
You got stuck at the wardrobe, looking at you in the mirror. Your eyes were red, your make-up smeared and your hair completely out of place.
“I’ll go to the bathroom and freshen up.” You said, a bit cooler than you wanted it to sound and silently went past all.
You took your facial tissues and made the remaining make-up away followed by a cold washcloth over your eyes to suppress the reddish borders a bit.
You decided not to make your make-up again. You just made your eyelashes and pulled your eyeliner to at least look like something.
You opened your braid and combed your hair before braiding it back into a fishbone braid. A couple of hairpins were still in your mouth as you turned off the bathroom light with your elbow and tied the braid further. After all, you didn’t have a third hand and you had to keep it different. Usually Kara was there to help you with such braids. But you learned quickly how to do them by yourself.
Just when you walked back into the living room and the last hairclips disappeared in your hair, someone knocked on the door. You fought with yourself, whether you should or you shouldn’t open the door, not wanting to meet the gaze of the woman again who already ruined the night before it even began.
Actually, you looked between everyone in the room. Everyone was busy.
Right before opening, something hushed in front of you. You realised it was Kara with her superspeed wanting to save you from more pain today. Apparently, she noticed your tension or had heard your heartbeat which was far higher than normal, yet again.
She pushed you aside a bit and quickly opened the door. Soon you met with three beautiful and smiling faces.
Ruby ran under Kara’s arms along to you. She were clinging to you and you had a hard time taking her off of you. You were happy she was there, now you wouldn’t have much time to think about what happened half an hour earlier.
The young brunette released away from you with a smile and went to Alex to greet her. Lena also came to you after she greeted Kara.
She put a hand on your neck and pulled you over for a kiss on the forehead and a hug. “I’ve missed you so much. It was a long time ago when you visited me at L-Corp.”
“Believe me, I wanted to come but the university is currently really bothering me and..” you swallowed, the thoughts of your mother creeping back but before you wanted to talk further, Lena interrupted you.
“Hey, it’s okay. Kara told me that you have a lot of stuff to do. Maybe we should get a coffee or breakfast on weekends?”
“I would absolutely love to!” you smiled.
Lena walked past you and brought Sam to the fore. She hugged you tightly.
“It’s so nice to see you again, Y/N.” She gave you the biggest smile she could afford and run through your new braided hair to your shoulder.
You red haired sister sneaked over and hugged the brunette as tightly as she could. Everyone in this room knew how many feelings they really felt for each other, but neither of them wanted to recognize it.
“Lovebirds.” You whispered beneath your breath and wanted to walk away as you suddenly heard Kara swallowing hard, spitting her drink all over the kitchen island and laughing.
She must’ve used her super hearing.
“I’ve heard it too, Y/N.” Your older sister said with a warning look. Nevertheless, you saw the radiance and the smile in her eyes.
You only looked at your sister with a defiant gaze, biting your lip and smiling.
You went to Kara in the kitchen and sat on the bar stool in front of her. She gave you a light punch, careful not to use her superpowers, on your shoulder and you both laughed while you played with your sweaters sleeve.
“Kara, behave.” Said your mother in a strong voice and looked at you. With one finger she pointed to you before she took the food and went to the living room, placing it on the table. “And you too.”
You two just looked at each other and kept laughing until Kara came to your side, helped you from the stool, put an arm around you and escorted you to the table.
The blonde and you were always the ones who annoyed the two and said stupid things. And sooner or later you two got that back.
But you both were right. Even though Alex tried to refuse it, she couldn’t. The looks between the redhead and the brunette, the formal staring on the lips of the other when they were speaking, the constant touch. It was all too obvious.
“Food is ready.” You heard Eliza shout and everybody around you came to the table.
You were so happy to see everyone again, to have your family around when your world was falling apart. They let you forget for a while, they made you happy.
And that was the only thing that mattered now.
The family.

Supergirl x Family Issues (Chapter 3)
Stunned, you looked at her. After all these years, how could she dare to appear here and destroy a nice evening with your family? She had 14 years to sign up, 14 years. Why was she here now? Had she heard from anyone that you were studying medicine and only saw the dollar signs in her eyes?
Questions over questions flew through your head, but not a single answer was able to make it out of this mess. Did you even want to know them?
You were frozen, your eyes were fixed on her. Emotions and emptiness overflew you and you didn’t know where to go with everything. You have never felt something like this before.
Alex pulled you farther away from your mother to prevent worse. She, too, was visibly stricken. Her anger was written in her eyes.
Kara was shocked. She didn’t know what to do so she let Alex handle it like she always did when she thought the oldest sister could handle it better than her. Tho, she was still near you and Alex if things got worse and Alex would explode.
“You really better should go now!” the redheads voice was strong and firm. Still holding you in her arms, she didn’t leave your side for a second.
“What was so wrong with me, that you would leave me?” Finally you break away from your rigidity and the mental war. You detached yourself from the clutches of your sister and returned to your mother. You looked at the floor, your hands crossed over your chest.  “When I was a girl, I hated myself. I thought I was broken. That no one could or ever would love me. It’s the only way a child can grow up when their mother abandons them. All I ever wanted to know is why?”
“Listen Sweetheart..”
“I don’t want to listen to you! You are not my mother because no mother leaves their child by someone who she doesn’t know in the slightest!” you raged.
“I am here now. You belong to me, I am your mother.”
“You are NOT! See all these woman here?” you asked, pointing at each one of them. “They are my family. They did it all. No thanks to you!”
“I appreciate that they took you but-“ she sobbed.
“Leave.” You spoke before turning back to leave the living room.
But she didn’t listen. With quick steps, she walked back to you and grabbed you by the arm, yanking you from the spot you were. You turned around and pulled yourself out of her grip. Alex behind your mother was ready to intervene whenever it was too much for her to watch.
“You should really leave now.” Kara said from the door, tensed from the situation only wanting Alex to finally take the woman out.
“GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY APARTMENT!” you screamed in your mothers face. Everyone was startled, they were not used to that. You had never screamed, no matter how angry you were. You have never raised your voice like you did at the moment.
You were scared too of how you behaved but you couldn’t control yourself, your feelings took over.
As Alex again asked your mother to leave and accompanied her to the door, you were already at the table. You supported yourself on it, your eyes closed, your grip tight. You couldn’t sit and pretend that nothing happened. You cooked over.
Someone put their hands on your shoulders and ran small circles with their fingers. It was Kara. She knew how to calm you down but this time it didn’t seem to work.
“Calm down, Sweetheart. We are here.” She whispered.
You couldn’t stand the touch right now, even that was too much. You just didn’t want to be touched so you shrugged, your head still lowered. Kara let go of your shoulders and backed away sadly.
“Who needs her?” you asked and pushed yourself from the table. Your eyes locked with everyone elses. “She wasn’t there learning me to strick clothes and I learned, didn’t I? I got through my first day of college. I learned how to drive. I got through my first heartbreak. I learned how to fight for myself. I got into med school without her and I had 14 GREAT BIRTHDAYS WITH MY FAMILY. She didn’t even send me a damn card. TO HELL WITH HER!”
The last few words echoed through the apartment. For a few seconds you watched at your adoptive mother and your sisters. You realised something dripping down your cheeks. It was rare to see you cry, you didn’t even cry when you broke your arm by playing with Kara to rough so it was hard for your sisters to watch you fighting your inner war by yourself.
It was even harder to watch you standing there, alone, without them hugging you and telling you that you are gonna be okay again, that they are by your side but they wanted to accept that you needed space.
You never wanted to know anything about your biological mother, you were never ready to talk about it. You viewed the Danvers as your real family, even if it was not your own blood. They took you in, protected, loved you  and especially Alex was always there for you, played the big sister, being enormous protective of you.
Your lungs felt like a big stone collapsing on your chest and you couldn’t breathe properly. You needed fresh air to cool yourself down. You needed to be alone. And so you went on the balcony.
You were only in a light sweater, the cold air hit you and Goosebumps started to form on every inch of your body. The arm ends of your sweater covered your fingers oddly enough that no air could came in, still you were freezing cold.
You supported yourself with your elbows on the gate, trying to take deep breaths and lower your heartbeat.
You heard Alex and your mother having a loud conversation and Kara who tried to calm them down. But you couldn’t go in there now and take care of it, Kara had everything under control. You needed to take care of yourself first so you tried to silence the noises in the backround and focused on your heart and the beautiful noise the thunderstorm made.
It took some time to slow down your raging heart but you were getting there. Slowly and steady.
After a while the door got open up and someone came outside, a winter jacket covering your shoulders and some hands who rubbed against the fur on your arms, trying to warm you up.
Alone the smell of the person beside you told you that it must have been the eldest.
“Let me alone, Alex.” You pleaded.
“I don’t let you freeze to death, kid and neither wanna let you alone right now.”
She stood beside you, only a few centimetres away but still enough space for you. From the side you saw that she was looking at you, she could read you like an open book but you still didn’t wanted to make eye contact with her.
“Say what you wanna say, Alex.”
“I don’t have to say anything.“ she stated easily.
“Why did you come outside then?”
“Because I understand you and I want to show you that I am and gonna stay by your side. No matter what. Kara does too even if she isn’t here right now.”
She knew that you didn’t wanted to be touched when something happened or you were sad because you didn’t wanted to worry anybody, you didn’t wanted to bother somebody. So she slowly walked towards you, watching if you shrug and she should step back again.  But you didn’t and she continued until she reached you and took you in a tight hug.
You didn’t pushed her away but pressed yourself against her, your arms clung to her back and your head rested on her chest, searching for the redheads heartbeat. Your legs were like jelly and you couldn’t hold yourself up anymore.
Tears started to flow again and you couldn’t silence the sobs that came out.
Of course Alex knew how much it must hurt, she got through the same thing when Jeremiah went away. She watched you getting weaker and weaker as she tried to hold your borderline thin body up even tighter. You biggest sister didn’t say anything, she didn’t even know what so you both just stood there.
After some time the last sob was out and the tears were gone. You raised your head from her chest and looked at her. Her eyes were glassy and you could tell she was about to cry too but she wanted to be strong for you, so she fought with it. Her fingers slit above the watery lines on your cheeks and you smiled.
“Thank you.” You mumbled, wanting the conversation end and not wanting her to worry anymore.
But she would be worried about you as long as your mother would be in your life. She wanted her to be gone and you knew, she would do everything for it.
“Not for that.” She said, hugging you quickly before putting an arm on your shoulder and walking you back to the living room.

Family Issues x Supergirl (Chapter 2)
The last pillow made its way on the couch before shaking it out and arranging them the way they used to be. You glanced up and brushed a hair string out of your face, tucking it behind your ear. Your eyes fell onto the stranger at your door and you stood there for seconds, her ocean blue eyes drilling into your body like a bullet.
You didn’t know what to say or even if you should answer so you waited for the woman to answer the question of your bigger sister.
“Is here living an Y/N Danvers?” she finally asked, her eyes still fixed on you, almost as if she were scanning you from top to bottom, not really interested in your sister which still stood at the door, one arm rested on the cold white wood, nearly perforating both of you with her questioning and confused look.
According to your facial expression, she knew that you didn’t know the woman in front of her. She knew all your friends, you didn’t have many of them. You’ve had two very close friends who stayed many times overnight, been here several times to study or just to gave you the out printed presentations of lessons when you missed out on university that day.
Slowly you walked to the door. “That’s me. Do we know each other?” you questioned.
A squeal cut to the silence. Alex came out of the bathroom, freshly dressed in warm clothes and a small smile on her face, happy to have her –end of work- beer but the smile faded as soon she realized who was standing at the door. Immediately the redheads face changed from cheerful to angry. Her lip biting, she crossed her hands over her chest and sat down on the couch lean. Your mother didn’t say a word, she knew the woman to well. Only recently she appeared on the front door in Midvale, begging your adoptive mother to tell her where you were. And of course Eliza told her, out of pity, though she knew that there could be consequences if Alex found out that she would want to sneak back into your life after all.
Angry, Alex looked to your mother, her eyes squinting, her fists balled. She knew that this evening and night would be ruined and that you would be hurt again. And she wanted to protect you this time too but how? The mess was already made.   She remembered the not so easy times of your life. The times when you were old enough to understand that you didn’t shared the same blood. The times she sat by your bed at night when you had bad dreams. The times you were crying in her arms because you didn’t know why she left you. The times in your teenage years she tried to make you realize that you are worth something and that she is proud of you because you thought you were useless, that your parents didn’t even wanted you.
“You both had a special bond that no one could understand. And that woman will not break it.” She thought before she was torn out of her thoughts by an sob.
She watched as the woman pressed past Kara and made her way in front of you. Now the redhead stood up, alarmed. In seconds she were right by your side, her arm around your shoulder. Seconds, before the woman in front of you dropped a bomb that leaved you in shock.
“We don’t but I wish. I am your biological mother.”

Family Issues x Supergirl (Chapter 1)
You sat on the edge of your couch with a nice book on your lap, a tea in one hand while the other supported your head, resting on it. You just heard the soft Thanksgiving music that echoed through the apartment and the smell of the food your mom and older sister were preparing for the evening.
Your view fell to the window and you watched the waterdrops fell against it as the sky started to let his tears out. You closed your eyes for a moment, started to concentrate at the melody the raindrops started to make. Since you could think, rain and storms where the number one besides your sisters that could calm you down on stressed university days.
The door got kicked into the locks and it made you fell into reality again. It was your other sister, Alex, that made it before the rain got worse. Still, she was soaked wet and her hair fell like strings down. You smiled as you saw her, her face was wrinkled and she was mad. She wasn’t like you. The redhead hated rain and much more she hated it when her wet clothes clung to her body.
“Oh come on Alex! I didn’t know you wanted to go swim. Why didn’t you tell me?” you teased her, still smiling like a little kid.
“Do you think that’s funny? Let’s see how funny you find this!” she warned as the redhead throwed her keys on the side table.
With quick steps she walked towards you, her arms already outstretched, longing for you. As fast as possible you put the hot tea on the table in front of you, the book placed on the other side of the couch. You buried yourself in Kara’s blanket and toss one pillow after the other in the direction of your sister. As she finally reached you and took you in a hug she started to tickle you and you couldn’t do anything than laugh.
“My pillows! My blanket! Alex!” now you heard Kara shouting.
“Alex, how old are you? Stop that and go change your clothes, our guests are coming soon!” your mother called out of the kitchen, her tone serious and firm.
She let loose of you and stood up. Carefully you stretched your head out of the blanket, your hair that you had braided before were now completely dishevelled. Both of you smiled at each other until she got out of the living room in the bathroom.
You brushed the warm blanket, that was Karas old favourite one aside and stood up with the tea cup in your hand still warming you as the cold air hit your skin, making you shiver. Slowly you picked up all the pillows you’ve thrown across the living room.
You heard knocks on the door and joy came over you. Finally, you could see the superfriends again, especially Ruby and Sam who had moved away and you just glimpsed through Skype if the time allowed you to. Kara took off her oven gloves and walked to the door. She opened with a big sweep.
“Hey! It’s so nice-“ she started before she stopped, reshaping her sentence. “Can I help you?”

Spencer Hastings x Reader
A had taken her toll on you. Every time you phone went off you held your breath waiting to see what’s A’s latest blackmail scheme or just plain cruel joke you’d get. Last week A had tried to force you to blow one of Spencer’s secrets but you had refused and nearly got suspended as a result of the blowback.
Today was even worse. You were trying to focus in Ms Montgomery’s class but it was getting harder and harder. You started to noticed it was getting harder to breath and the girls were noticing.
“Y/N?” Spencer whispered, concern evident in her voice.
Ms Montgomery had started to noticed and stopped her lesson to try and call your name but by this time you couldn’t hear. All you could hear was your heart pounding.
“Excuse me.” You said as you rushed out of the class and heading out to the field outside. You tried to follow Dr Sullivan’s lessons on controlling your panic but for some reason you couldn’t focus.
Suddenly you were pulled back into focus when you felt an arm on your shoulder. You turned to see Spencer behind you with her hand rested on your shoulder.
“What’s wrong?” Spencer asked.
“I’m ok.” You replied trying to control your rapidly racing heart.
“Come with me.” Spencer takes your hand and leads you to a part of the school you hadn’t seen before, a section of trees just outside the track field.
“I like to come here whenever I need somewhere to escape.” Spencer says. “It’s a place for me to focus without anyone else around.”
You took a minute to observe the area around you. The trees were still on school grounds but they were far away from the classrooms, training areas or hangouts used by the students.
Spencer then sat down and you sat with her. “Y/N I’m worried about you. You’ve been on edge recently.”
“Spence I’m fine.” You lied. “ I’ve just been having a bad day and I needed some fresh air.”
“You’ve needed a lot of those recently.” She countered. “You’ve been checked out in class all week and you’re so on edge everywhere else that I… I really scared for you.”
Spencer’s works surprised you and she kept going. “Y/N I see what A has been doing to you and it breaks my heart. I care for you so much. I just wish I could hold you and protect you so that A would never hurt you again.”
“Spencer, I… I’m not sure I really understand.”
Spencer let the tears flow from her face. She took a second to wipe one then she cupped your face with her hands. She then pulled your face in and kissed you right on the lips.
At first shock took over. You couldn’t believe Spencer Hastings was kissing you! But then you let yourself fall into the kiss and you started to kiss her back. After a few moments she let the kiss go and you both spent what felt like an eternity staring into each other’s eyes.
The next day at school, you and Spencer were inseparable. She held you hand almost any chance she got even in the middle of class and whoever the two of you had to part she made sure to leave you with a jaw dropping kiss. Apparently she’d almost decked Jenna in the hallway after she’d made some disparaging remark about the two of you. You both knew A would soon be aware of this change but you weren’t scared. With Spencer and you together, there was nothing you couldn’t face.
