Teriesh blinked.
“…oh, right,” he said, before looking over his shoulder. “Plus I do have wings now…”
He tested them out a bit, stretching and flapping them slightly. They felt powerful, and the former Kyrii was rather surprised.
“I’ve never flown before…!”
He seemed eager to try out his wings, flapping them more with a hop. He lifted into the air.
“Whoa!!”
“Good, good. Keep practicing as you follow me, try to stay in the air as much as possible.” Lord Darigan affirms with a smile, gesturing Teriesh and his siblings to start following him toward the Citadel...
(The Giffard siblings must've wondered what they got themselves into, considering how they've suddenly found themselves in Darigan Citadel with an unconscious Teriesh having been transformed into a Darigan Eyrie...)
The other three were still reeling from the sudden change of scenery, looking around in confusion and worry.
“Wh-… where are we…?” Merimoth frowned, before realizing that Teriesh was missing. “Teri??”
She stepped forward and nearly tripped over the unconscious Eyrie, gasping a bit.
“What is this…??”
Kovathe frowned a bit, fidgeting nervously.
“I-Isn’t that-…?”
The Eyrie didn’t move, but they were definitely still breathing.
“Where’s Teri, though…??” Virlaeus frowned. “Is… is that Teri…??”

“To make your way to the Citadel, of course. It’ll be the new home for you and your siblings, for as long as you are in the image of Lord Kass.” the Darigan ruler patiently explains.
“You can have more to eat if you want, Teriesh, but the main thing is for you to practice your new form. This way, you will understand why he came so close to taking the throne away from me...”

Merimoth’s eyes widened now, and for once, her rather nervous and quiet demeanor melted into one of awe.
“R-Really…??”
Teriesh looked up now with a mouth full of apple.
“Huh?” he blinked.
“Yes indeed, little one.” Lord Darigan answers with a bit of a chuckle, again Merimoth’s attitude reminding him of the girl that had helped him before.
“I didn’t realize the changes made you that hungry, Teriesh. Do you need more time to finish, or are you ready now?” the ruler asks of the now-Eyrie.

“I see.” Lord Darigan comments in a very paternal manner, Virlaeus reminding him somewhat of the youngster that had helped him before. “I’m sure you’ll get a chance to show it off at some point. But what about the other two? Surely they must have something interesting to share…”
“Uhh… well I run the gallery with Virlaeus,” said Kovathe, waving a slightly nervous paw. “And I’m the youngest of the family.”
“I’m, uhh… I like books?” Merimoth mumbled; she seemed quite nervous, unlike her normally stoic and even-headed demeanor. Teriesh continued to mow down the apples, as if he had been starving.
“My castle has a library - the largest in the kingdom. I’m sure you’d be interested in checking it out once we get there.” Lord Darigan continues on.
“Speaking of which, as soon as your finished with those apples Teriesh lets see you try out those new wings of yours - it’ll be faster traveling than on foot.”

Teriesh happily continued to eat the apples while his siblings looked on in amazement. Merimoth blinked, before turning towards Lord Darigan.
“W-Well, uhh… I’m not sure what there is to explain,” she admitted, frowning slightly. “I’m the oldest of us four, but other than that I’m not… sure what to say…”
She seemed rather flustered.
“Kovathe and I run a plushie gallery!” Virlaeus piped up now, smiling.
“Really? We don’t have many of those up here. Why don’t you tell me more about that while we’re on the way back to the castle? Teriesh is going to need to practice using his new wings...” Lord Darigan asks of Virlaeus.

“Go ahead, Teriesh, they are all meant for you. To help your body adjust to the transformation.” Lord Darigan continues with a smile.
“Now, while Teriesh is eating, maybe you could explain more about yourselves?” the ruler continues on, addressing the siblings gathered around their transformed brother.

“Oh. Well, uhh… okay,” Teriesh shrugged a bit. “That makes a lot more sense…”
Well at least most of the loose ends would be tied…
“So my sibs are basically gonna be playing the same role that Sally did for you?” he asked, tilting his head to the side. His gaze shifted to the box of apples now, frowning.
“But… I’m allergic to apples,” he said, opening up the box regardless.
“You are correct in your assessment of the role of your siblings. However, you would not be allergic to apples in your new transformation. That’s why I have the box there.” Lord Darigan explains, a subtle nudge to encourage Teriesh to try the apples for himself.
“Oh.”
Teriesh was a bit astounded by just how much planning and thought had gone into this… then again, he really shouldn’t be surprised, given the circumstances, and just who was operating this whole plot anyways.
A slight frown creasing his coal-black beak, he knelt down and picked up one of the apples, turning it over in his paws.
“Well… I guess that makes sense,” he said, biting into it now.
Lord Darigan seems quite pleased when Teriesh bites into the apple. Doubtless the siblings would have less confidence about the results, but the ruler was sure the potion would render Teriesh immune to the allergy of his previous self. If the confidence was misplaced, that would be displayed shortly...

“But… wait, won’t people think something’s up, since he’s dead and all?” Teriesh frowned; he seemed to be calming down, at least. “Oh… so a lotta people think he could still be alive.”
That made a lot more sense. The siblings listened quietly as Lord Darigan explained his story.
“I see… huh,” Teriesh mumbled. “… I’m worried a lotta people back in Neopia Central might wonder why one of the Giffard siblings is suddenly missing, though. There’s enough people back home who know us for them to ask questions…”
“I feel like we’re probably going to be staying in Meridell for this, though,” Merimoth pointed out.
“Indeed you are going to stay here - I already have a messenger sent out to the proper authorities to explain this.” Lord Darigan explains.
“It will take some time to reach the Citadel. In the meantime, you can introduce yourselves more. Teriesh will also need practice with his new wings. If you still feel a little weak, there’s some apples in the box beside you.” the ruler continues on, hoping Teriesh would be interested enough to look in the box.

“Uhh… th-there is?” he asked rather meekly, eyes still wide. “W-Wait, transformation…?!”
The Eyrie let out a rather undignified squawk upon seeing his reflection in the small mirror, hastily climbing to his feet.
“Wh-… wh-what happened t’me?!” he cried, clutching at his head now. “I-I look like-…!!”
His ears lowered.
“…but… h-he… he died, though… wh-why-… why make me look like him??”
He seemed badly confused.
“Because, Teriesh, I believe you are capable of posing as him so that he can be ‘redeemed’ the same way I was.” Lord Darigan begins explaining. “After the first war, I lost my memories temporarily, but an Usul girl named Sally took pity on me and eventually I regained my memories because of her. I want your siblings to pretend as if they had done the same for Lord Kass.”
“The rumors of him surviving somehow are indeed completely false, but those same rumors, plus my own personal experience, will keep anyone else from asking too many questions.” he finishes after a moment’s pause.

“U-Uhm…”
The three looked over at the transformed Teriesh, with Kovathe kneeling down next to him, looking worried.
“Big bro…?”
“Urgh…”
The former Kyrii groaned as he began to come to, rubbing at his forehead as he rolled over onto his back.
“What th’heck happened…?”
He looked up at his siblings, blinking owlishly, before looking over and noticing Lord Darigan. He very nearly jumped out of his fur and feathers.
“WH-”
Clearly, he was quite frightened and confused.
“Easy, Teriesh. There was a reason I chose you for the transformation.” Lord Darigan replies in a quieter tone.
At the same time, he produces a small mirror out of a pocket in his sleeve and holds out for Teriesh to look into. It would take a minute for the former Kyrii to understand the imposing Eyrie he had become - even as an older warlord during the second war against Meridell, Lord Kass had been able to defeat soldiers half his age in single combat. Now Teriesh had been transformed into a version of Kass at the prime of his youth...

The once dreaded ruler of the Darigan realm laughs a little bit before answering the question: “Fear not, little ones. I have brought you here, especially Teriesh, for a very specific purpose. He will wake up in a few moments, unharmed.”
Teriesh’s transformation finishes, taking on a slightly younger version of the imposing appearance of Lord Kass. Upon waking up, Teriesh will not take long to recognize what has happened to him...

“As I was saying, the effects should pass quickly.” Lord Darigan continues, this time pulling out a hand mirror so that Teri can see himself transforming into the image of Lord Kass.
Teriesh Giffard “🍶 turns into looking like Lord Kass” (maybe this'll kick start the muse ;) )
The first thing Teri felt was the sudden, uncomfortably tight feeling in his upper back. He gasped a bit as he doubled over a bit, paws reaching up to try and feel his upper back, just in time for a pair of feathered wings to sprout out of him.
“Wh-What the-?!”
