In TH141, one of my favorite teachers, sir Bobby Guevara, reads to us something of his "baul" to start the class. In one session, he read this beautiful poem by Rico Abelardo entitled, "Mangyari Lamang". Enjoy! --- Mangyari lamang ay tumayo ang mga nagmahal nang makita ng lahat ang mukha ng pag- ibig. Ipamalas ang tamis ng malalim na pagkakaunawaan sa mga malabo ang paningin. Mangyari lamang ay tumayo rin ang mga nagmahal at nasawi nang makita ng lahat ang mga sugat ng isang bayani. Ipadama ang pait ng kabiguan habang ipinagbubunyi ang walang katulad na kagitingan ng isang nagtaya. Mangyari lamang ay tumayo ang mga nangangambang magmahal nang makita ng lahat ang kilos ng isang bata. Ipamalas ang katapatan ng damdamin na pilit ikinukubli ng pusong lumaki sa mga engkanto at diwata. Mangyari lamang ay tumayo ang mga nagmahal, minahal at iniwan ngunit handa pa ring magmahal nang makita ng lahat ang yaman ng karanasan. Ipamalas ang katotohanang nasaksihan nang maging makahulugan ang mga paghagulgol sa dilim. At sa mga nananatiling nakaupo mangyari lamang ay dahan-dahang tumalilis papalabas sa nakangangang pinto. Umuwi na kayo at sumbatan ang mga magulang na nagpalaki ng isang halimaw! At sa lahat ng naiwang nakatayo mangyari lamang ay hagkan ang isa’t isa at yakapin ang mga sugatan. Mabuhay tayong lahat na nagsisikap na makabalik sa ating pinagmulan! Manatiling masaya at higit sa lahat magpatuloy sa pagmamahal.

Mandatory 2014 Book List Post

I've set the bar so low this year that I just wanted to finish 2 books, which I started on in January:

• Love and Misadventure by Lang Leav (AND SHE SIGNED MY COPY!!!) • Every Day by John Levithan (I had to settle down in the bathroon after finishing this)

And then, which for the first time since 2011, I think, I actually finished my book list. So, I decided to increase the number and added: 

• Divergent by Veronica Roth (and this almost broke me) • Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan (hilariously funny; recommend reading) • House of Hades by Rick Riordan (after 5 months: FINALLY!!!!) • Gabriel's Inferno by Sylvain Reynard (don't ask)

But then, I finished all of them by March. Then I discovered the joys of ebooks and Abbi Glines while perusing through Fully Booked for Game of Thrones:

• The Vincent Boys (1) • The Vincent Brothers (2) • Breeze (Sea Breeze #1) • Sometimes It Lasts (Sea Breeze #5) • Because of Low (Sea Breeze #2) • Just For Now (Sea Breeze #4) • While It Lasts (Sea Breeze #5) • Fallen Too Far (Rosemary #1) • Never Too Far (Rosemary #2) • Forever Too Far (Rosemary #3) • Misbehaving (Sea Breeze #6) • Bad For You (Sea Breeze #7)

And read them all by half of the summer (that would be around mid-May), for a grand total so far of 18 books read this 2014.

Right now, the goal is to reach 24 by the end of the year, which would be an average of 2 books a month, and I'm stuck reading Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire #1) by George R. R. Martin, and have been in the same Eddard chapter for 3 weeks. It's already July and I have 6 more to go, and with school and org work, I don't know how I could even finish Game of Thrones, let alone 6 more. But things will be better; they always are.
