Star Wars is by far one of my favourite things to re-experience on some ugly grey down days, curled up on the couch ready to adventure in a galaxy far far away. On the Star Wars kick, here are some great mixes that are Star Wars inspired. George Lucas approved!

[24/04] Disney Music #DCONSTRUCTED [various artists]

So we were pretty excited to hear that some of the biggest names in electronic music would be re-interpreting some of the iconic Disney themes, but we were a bit apprehensive, as there was always the possibility that the result would be a cheesy and very artificial product. But, we are happy to report, that these remixes do not disappoint, and do a very good job of reinterpreting each theme through the unique styles and techniques of each individual artist. Highlights for us include the edits from Mat Zo, and the Japanese Popstars! Check it out!

[15/04] New Music: Lockah - Yahoo Or The Highway [bass//electronic//synth]

Today we feature the latest from the trap/bass maestro from Aberdeen, Scotland, Lockah (previosly featured on SS with his EP, 'Please Lockah, Don't Hurt 'Em' presented by Mishka)
His sound has matured a lot since that EP, and we are absolutely loving this debut effort!
[via xlr8r.com]
One of the handful of exciting new talents emerging from burgeoning Brighton label Donky Pitch, is Scottish producer Lockah. The artist born Tom Banks delivers 13 neon-hued, rave-indebted, and—on occasion—surprisingly poignant productions across his album's 45 minutes, focusing as much on dancefloor-friendly beats and hooky melodies as he does atmospherics and other intricate subtleties.

[13/04] Superlative Sunday Chill: Kamandi and Polo - A.A.$.B [future beats//chill]

It's time for your requisite chill day, and today we feature the completion of a awesome 7-track EP that has slowly been releasing a portion each day this past week, from Christchurch, New Zealand acts, Kamandi and Polo.
[via freshnewtracks.com]
This EP is just too ... Each track, named by a different symbol, has a unique atmosphere to it. The bass in these tracks is mind-blowing if you’ve got the right system. All the tracks are smooth, ambient, and mysterious. The vibes in this EP are hard to describe, but may be somewhere along the lines of dark, emotional, and chill.

* And watch all the video accompaniments for each track HERE *
Have a Superlative Sunday Chill with this amazing release, that has us anxiously awaiting more releases from these two Kiwi producers!

[09/04] Womp Womp Wednesdays: DOUBLE SHOT: Alix Perez + Ital Tek [electronic]

Let's get through the mid-week slump together with some harder hitting electronic music in another special DOUBLE SHOT edition!
First up is the impeccable release from Alix Perez on Exit with support from two of footwork's most demonstrative players, DJ Rashad & DJ Spinn.
[via juno.co.uk]
"U" is a rifle-like jitter-jam of cuts and chops, all massages together to juke glue. "Sludge", meanwhile, lives up to its name in every way. A funky post-dubstep downbeat strutter, it wonks as hard as it works. The truly unique "Make It Worth", meanwhile, is an eerie stepper that morphs from subtle to stately drama with a Detroit style heaviness and a grime vocal loop. Finally we hit "Gully Halves" which, as the title suggests, is a waspy paranoid bassline on a dark stroppy halfstep. Four incredible future jams from the Shogun superstar... This is next level business!

Second up is some more foot work inspired heavy music from Brighton DJ/producer, Ital Tek, on Civil Music.

Mega City Industry offers "four liquid hybrids exploring footwork's accelerated template... [splicing] the rhythmic memes of Chicago with UK sci-fi sonics rooted in classic '90s AI and jungle music,"
