I like to imagine Martha and Johnathan did not know who Bruce Wayne was, like as a public figure when they met him in person. In fact, they knew him for years as just “Clark’s friend”.

HE CRASHES OUT OVER THE DOG BECAUSE HES A DOG. HES INNOCENT. HE DOESNT DESERVE TO BE KIDNAPPED AND TORTURED. HE CRASHES OUT OVER THE DOG FOR THE SAME REASON HE TAKES THE TIME TO SAVE THAT SQUIRREL: BECAUSE SUPERMAN/CLARK KENT IS A GOOD PERSON.

He tells us. Point fucking blank. That he does everything he can to find Krypto bc “he’s alone… and probably scared.” The way he reacts to Krypto’s kidnapping is another way for them to establish his character as a complete boyscout. A do-gooder. Are we so cynical that we can’t even accept that at face value?? That we have to come up with ulterior motives??
