I rarely post pictures of my son on Tumblr, but who doesn't love a great crying Santa pic?

10 years ago tonight, I had a blind date with a guy from a dating website, even though that site claimed we had zero out of five stars compatibility. Within minutes of meeting, we discovered that we lived on the same block in Queens. A modern day tale of marrying the guy next door 😍

If you want to understand my son's personality
RJ has a nanny, and he’s only ever been watched by me, Sean or the nanny.
The nanny called out sick today and neither Sean nor I could stay home, so I took RJ to a backup daycare option that I have access to through work.
Here is how he handled the day; 1) cried so hard that he threw up and then passed out
2) refused to eat any food or drink his bottles all day. finally when dinner time came, he couldn’t hold out any longer and ate 2 pouches of puréed food, 20 puffs and 10 yogurt melts.
3) pulled himself up on a windowsill and then tried to climb up the wall. quickly learned that you can’t climb up flat, vertical surfaces.
4) when I came to pick him up, he was so pissed at me that he started screaming at me and refused to let me hold him.
I birthed a stubborn one with a flair for the dramatic, that’s for sure!

I didn't know it was possible to improve on something that already seemed perfect, but it is! (With pretzels!!) And no judgements on my breakfast please. I have a teething baby who won't sleep through the night anymore.

I Can't.
Someone in one of my ‘moms’ Facebook groups just posted that her husband did the sweetest thing by giving her $100 for being such a good mom. All of the comments are about how sweet of a gesture that was.
Am I missing something here????

A Guide to My Facebook Birthday Posts
Custom Message = you are an immediate family member
Happy happy birthday! xo = You’re one of my people
Happy birthday! = I am wishing you a happy birthday out of some form of obligation (e.g. I know you wished me a happy birthday. I questioned why you did it because we’re not close, but now I must return the gesture.)

I like to keep all of RJ’s food and bottles on the same shelf in the refrigerator. Should I be concerned that I opened up the fridge and found this?

Thoughts on Facebook
I have literally never used Facebook as much as I use it now that I’m a mom.
Once you have a baby, everyone in your Facebook feed who has a child will like/comment on every single photo/status you post about your baby. This means that now I feel like I need to like/comment on every single post about a baby on any of my friends’ pages.
My entire Facebook feed is mom groups. January 2015 Mom Groups. NYC Mom Groups. Forest Hills Mom Groups. A few observations:
These groups are awesome. Super supportive, great for a mini focus group, but holy cow, does it make you feel super competitive or like you/your child are either advanced or behind.
Without these groups, I would never know what my baby should be doing. I’m always like, “Oh, everyone’s babies are now sitting in high chairs? Ok, we should buy a high chair!” “Oh, the babies are now using Exersaucers? Time to buy an Exersaucer.” “Oh, everyone’s babies are eating out of mesh feeders? I don’t know what that is, but I should probably buy 3.” (Thank you, Amazon Prime!)
Did you know professional 6-month photo sessions are a thing?
I’m pretty sure my entire neighborhood is made up of stay at home moms. All of the meetups are at, like, 11:30am on Tuesdays. Also, my nanny is the only nanny in RJ’s Gymboree class. One can only dream....

Totally normal reaction, right?
When I look at so many baby clothes or accessories (hats, shoes, etc), I immediately think, “My kid is way too cool for this.”

I finally finished putting our living room together this weekend (It’s cool, we’ve only lived here for 4 months. Never move with a baby.), and I’m OBSESSED with this artwork I got on Gilt a few months ago. It picks up the color of RJ's Exersaucer nicely!
