Just when I was beginning to think that I couldn’t get into anime, I watch what is easily my favorite anime film of all-time (out of the very limited number I’ve seen) because not only is it legitimately scary with its beautifully creepy animation and hypnotic editing, but the psychological damage this pop star turned actress experiences from the difficulties of fame and the emotionally draining work that comes with acting is very much palpable, and terrifyingly exciting.
