I've done comics about how we can use multiple alters to keep track of winding stories, I've done some about using them to seperate multiple people talking...here's one to show how we can struggle with even one, simple, story. Having alters isn't a super power and my abilities can fail me as much (sometimes more) than they help me. If an alter is talking about something else entirely, I can lose what people are saying to me, forcing me to ask them to repeat themselves or just try to catch up with context clues.

Panel 1: Kyra is listening to a person talk. Their text is intentionally cut off to portray that Kyra is only getting some of the information. What she is saying isn't entirely important, just know she's telling a story about needing a new matteress. Atom meanwhile stands behind Kyra, co-consciously, saying "Hey so I was thinking about the other day."

Panel 2: the person is continuing to talk and now Atom's words are spilling over the text of the story. Kyra leans in, to better hear her friend. Again the text doesn't matter, just that it is unintelligible.

Panel 3: Kyra turns around, frustratedly saying "Can you PLEASE be quiet?! I'm trying to have a conversation and I can't pay attention with you yammering in my ear!" Atom throws his hands up in defense, "Okay okay! I'm leaving."

Panel 4: Ian arrives, saying "Hey I wanted to ask you something." Kyra has her face in her hand, irritated. The person continues their story, the text now unobstructed reads: But all the stores were sold out! We spent 9ver two hours just driving around.

i am so fucking sick of people trying to act like it’s ableist to acknowledge that disabled people Are Disabled. this whole movement has started around people saying “disabled people are just as capable as abled people” when the conversation that SHOULD be being had is “there is nothing wrong with needing accommodations that abled people don’t”

Mentally well people don’t consider contacting crisis lines or booking doctor’s appointments for the fun of it.
