lol @ people saying GRRM wouldnt have Dany go mad in the final book… GRRM said the ending of GOT isnt radically different from what GRRM intended. he said “he wanted more seasons to flesh out the characters”. Read between the lines.. Dany was meant to go mad and she has always showed these signs from the early seasons, which were true to the books. GRRM didnt like series conclusion because the shift was abrupt and poorly paced.
you can stan Daenerys Targaryen but if you really think, she was never gonna go mad, you havent been paying attention. Daenerys fought for justice. The show could have presented that justice does not exist and it’s what people make it to be and this can be through fire and blood. She was just kept in check and prevented from doing the latter by the people around her. It’s in-character for her to go mad.
It’s not character assassination that Daenerys went mad; it’s character assassination that her shift as a supposedly dynamic character was clumsily executed and rushed. We deserved a “gradual descent to madness” arc. More content is necessary to justify this shift and make the twist earned.
