I have complaints about Starbucks.

They gave me the wrong drink. To be fair I liked it better than the one I actually ordered so that's not the problem.

Why do people pretend to know what they are talking about when they don't?

A guy on reddit litterally tried to debate meon my experience as an afab person.

Saying motives about behaivor, saying "oh, no this doesn't happen" and similar stuff.

The thing is I or someone I know has had to do or has had something happen to them.

Things that he said doesn't happen.

I know the guy's gender because he tried to use the fact the he is straight and a giy as evidence for knowing how women experience the world. Because he has had girlfriends.

Meanwhile, we are told stories about things that happen. We are given instructions on how to stay safer.

He tried to say that we need to change behavior to avoid be raped and killed.

The thing is if we change our behavior the way he says to we will be in even MORE danger.

He litterally debated as to why we act the way we do.

He said not feeling like having a conversation with a rando on the street is rude.

To me basic tactics to avoid being kidnapped is perfectly normal and not rude in the slightest.

What about you guys? What do y'all think?

People just had to stay inside for three (3) weeks.

People value haircuts more than their own, as well as others, lives.

This is what failure looks like. Today our new case count is nearing 40,000.

And here is an example of success. After italy shutdown things got better and stayed that way, because they stayed closed long enough to ensure it.

Right now covid is out of control on an exponential curve. We need to completely shutdown in order to prevent it from getting any worse.

And this doesn't even scratch the issues our country has when it comes to race, gender, sexuality, and disability.

Neurodivergent people: are you feeling “off” but you don’t know why? Here are some questions to ask yourself.

Have I taken my medications? (If you have them)

Are my hair and face greasy from not bathing? When was the last time I bathed? Do I need to bathe today?

When was the last time I brushed my teeth? Do I need to brush my teeth right now?

Am I hungry? When was the last time I ate? Do I need to eat something right now?

Am I thirsty? When was the last time I drank water? Do I need to drink water right now?

Are my clothes dirty or smelly? When was the last time I changed my clothes? Do I need to change clothes or do laundry right now?

Do I feel upset? Can I identify any reasons for being upset? What can I do to help myself process these feelings?

When was the last time I went outside? Should I go outside today? (Even if it’s just to sit around in my yard for a while?)

When was the last time I did something creative, like writing, painting, doodling, embroidering, building, crafting, etc.? Should I do something creative today?

How much time have I spent staring at screens today? Am I getting eyestrain or a headache from looking at screens too much? Should I take a break and do something else instead?

When was the last time I interacted with a friend? Do I feel lonely? Should I reach out and talk to someone right now?

There are many more things to keep in mind, but these are some of the main things.

Today, I’ve spent too much time staring at screens. I’m going to go paint & decorate my noise canceling headphones, instead. Then, I’ll go for a walk in the woods near my house.

Predjudice and racism is positively stupid. It's so stupid.

There are so many reasons to hate people and you pick:

What they look like

Their name

Where they're from

Their religeon

Ect.

Their gender/sex/sexuality

Like there are so many better reasons to dislike someone.

The way they eat cereal.

The fact that they are super annoying to you for a wierd reason (talking to quiet, forgetfulness, willful ognorance, eating loudly, ect.).

Literally any reason that can be changed or altered with a litle effort.

These are better than useless hate and prejudice. Help them be a better person. Or talk to them about something that bothers you.

Disliking someone for something they cannot change makes no sense.

Be nice. Helpful. Courageous. Encouraging.

Whatever you do be safe and make sure that others (human, plant, animal, and whatever else) is helped (or at least not harmed) by your actions.

Local Bookstores Have A New Weapon In The Fight With Amazon

In the book industry, Amazon is Goliath, the giant who overshadows everyone else. But there’s a new David on the scene, Bookshop.org.

It doesn’t expect to topple the giant, but it has launched a weapon that could make Amazon’s shadow a little smaller, and help local bookstores fight back.

Bookshop.org, a website that went live at the end of January and is still in beta mode, is designed to be an alternative to Amazon, and to generate income for independent bookstores. And, perhaps more importantly, it seeks to give book reviewers, bloggers and publications who rely on affiliate income from “Buy now” links to Amazon a different option.

Profit from books sold through Bookshop will be split three ways, with 10% of the sale price going into a pool that will be divided among participating bookstores, 10% going to the publication that triggered the sale by linking to Bookshop.org, and 10% going to Bookshop.org to support its operations.
