your clark reminds me of my friend kyle who was one of the high school track stars but also a huge goofy nerd who was in band and theater. like he was a popular jock but he hung out with the art/music/theater kids more often than not.
THIS IS SO TRUE AND REAL. your kyle sounds so cool. im glad my take on clark is at the very least something realistic

while many people may get the impression clark was always a nerdy out of place aloof kid in highschool and to a degree thats true in superman: for all seasons ( BANGER superman run! 4 issues, yall should read) ... for my clark he is more reminiscent of a 3 year old colt. in my chosen origin story he was a popular jock and quarterback of his highschool team. he hogged the ball, and mowed down his competition. despite his ego and pride he still was KIND. much like a colt getting a feel for their new big legs in a big ol green field clark too was a show off with his new abilities abilities. he had overzealous youthful pride that could not be pegged down by his father who hated it but knew he could only let it run its course. clark was the all-star of his football team in highschool despite clearly having an unfair advantage. his overzealous and bold nature persisted from 18 to about 22 as he started to learn humility. not without being a showboat as superman. like please. imagine a young 21 year old making a WHOLE city's criminal activity suddenly shake... it fed his ego to say at the least. eventually, he out grows this. he will always be a nerd-jock hybrid to me. his last act of pride would be to write a story on HIMSELF ( clark kent write's about superman) to get hired at the daily planet. while clark is much more humble now he still to this day here and their can be a show boat.
#he still had pangs of ' i dont fit in' which is explored through lana#which i LOVE i love everything about this origin story for clark#its realistic. its nuanced. it shows growth. lana is a big character to clarks origin she always will be.

clark is such a funny and interesting alien character to me. he tries so hard to mimic humans. he sleeps at night every day, he eats 2 meals a day, he COOKs it all to boot, he goes on jogs... only to hang out with people like lois or bruce who sleep 2 hrs, run on caffeine, dont take days off, will only eat if it can fit in their hand as they run around town. and clarks like what the heck is wrong with y'all. you're... you're suppose to rest.

"At least you didn't tell me to 'be myself'."
❝ yeah, i think I'm the last person to say that. ❞ as the superman and clark kent this reporter was constantly pretending to be two different people. it could be tiring ... tiring to hold up these two faces. it was vân who understood it all in her own way. and clark has seen it. at work she's dedicated and quiet only speaking where its needed. and then on her camping trips she's as wild as a bird through the trees. with the lens she has to navigate the world through the last thing clark should be saying is just to be herself. what he could do was smile and offer her a high five. smile lines creased at his eyes. a big wide smile to boot.
❝ what i can tell you is to do what you can, and that's what you did. ❞

i love, love, love how with clois it will always make sure lois 'wears the pants' in the relationship and clark is the hunky malewife. clark has a job, hes superman, hes a JL leader, and he canonly cooks, cleans, and does the laundry. like, its so peak to see a ship that comes from the old decades break gender roles happily. its such common fact that clark is referred to as mr. lane. lois lane, the woman of the house.

At least you didn't tell me to 'be myself'.
clark had sat in the sideline's seeing johnny trot down the stage's steps. there clark was waiting at the side of the open stage that had been set up in central park. it was something about a big anniversary here in new york city over clean energy that the fantastic 4 endorsed. nothing but A commemoration. normally this would be something mr. fantastic would speak on about... but the fiery johnny was up to any task. ( he certainly looked good in all the pictures. )
as soon as he came off to the side from the stage both the human torch and superman flew off to resume any other jobs in need out there in the big apple. though clark knew johnny had his eye out for any damsel in distress. ' At least you didn't tell me to 'be myself'. ' clark shrugged raising his brows with a amused laugh. he would shoulder bump the match stick ... ❝ do i still have time to say it ? he responds in a equally playful manner. ❝ you didn't need me to say it. you're always your authentic self, johnny. don't ever change. ❞

okay... I'll bite. i saw this interview based on krypto and i'll say i dont particularly enjoy how krypto is spoken about or portrayed in the movie coming up. honestly, most of the comic characters are portrayed in a way that honors them in their comic material. but krypto is completely different. and while i understand some people will like that as they might see their dog in krypto, i still think he, as a superman mythos enjoyer , is ooc. not only that... they speak so HARSHLY about krypto. "krypto needs superman, but superman doesn't need krypto". they speak in a way as if clark wasn't there for krypto at his worse and trained him. when krypto use to act out he was aggressive and needed assurance- he was never stupid or overtly stubborn... i understand what theyre going for with this krypto, but the truth is krypto is a smart dog. hes slightly more intelligent then your average canine. with the ability to judge situations, understand full sentences, and a deep loyalty to his family. while there was a period where krypto made a mess of the apartment which i think the movie has accurate... i still think its excessive to depict krypto in such a bad tone.
"and hes more trouble than he's worth." CLARK WOULD NEVER THINK THIS. clark has ALWAYS been someone who was there for his dog even when his dog was difficult and never thought he was more trouble than he was worth. for a long time krypto was clarks ONLY other kryptonian companion. their bond is so deep.
what im trying to say here: clark has always had faith in his dog. yes krypto was difficult once upon a time but it was aggression not being stubborn. even when others felt krypto was more trouble than he was worth, clark always held out hope for his dog. for a movie where i look forward to comic accuracy it does let me down to some degree krypto is completely ooc. does THIS MEAN I HATE MOVIE KRYPTO? no. but i do not enjoy this interview being so harsh about my favorite hero animal character and acting like clark is burdened by his dog. i know krypto was based and inspired by james gunn's own dog, maybe the inspiration went too far imo.
here are some panels between clark and krypto that speak a lot to me about kryptos character and the bond the boy and dog share:
#◖ man of steel . — ‹ glasses on ... ⤺ out. ›#listen... im all up for new interpretations so im seeing this new krypto that way ofc#but i think its the INTERVIEW ( it is ) that rubbed me so wrong because it was kindve mean lmao#put some respect on my boy i love this dog.

man something i love about the superman movie incoming is how clrk REALLY and i mean REALLY looks so strong. before they would have him show effort for everything- to show weight in what he picks up. but in this movie hes gonna be one arm swinging a water tower. he gets his face pushed in asphalt and makes the asphalt look like kinetic sand. PEAK
