they should invent a bus that never gets stuck in traffic because it's on its own path separated from the roads. and then chain multiple of them together and put it on rails. has anyone had this idea before.

No children are allowed in the Library of Congress.
It's not that kind of library.
In other words...
You are being lied to

I know I’ve spoken about this but my 5x great grandfather tried to immigrate from Ireland to England in the late 1850s. He had barely survived the famine. He was then deported from Liverpool for being indigent. The British had destroyed his country, broken his body and then sent him back. There was nothing to go home to, no opportunities, no hope, no resources to start again. I’m not sure how he got to America but he made it there and settled in what soon became West Virginia. Was it a good life? Did he find the American dream? No, not really. But he had a life. His children had community and jobs and lived out their lives in relative peace.
I know this immigrant story is removed from the immigrant stories of today by 160+ years. America was a final hope then. It was a home after home was gone. I would not be alive if he had been deported from America too. America is a nation of immigrants. Almost everyone has at least one immigrant story in their family lineage. To have your ancestors come here penniless with only hope and the clothes on their back and try to shut the door on others who do the same is profoundly racist and hypocritical and grotesque and evil. I might be removed from that immigrant story by 160+ years but I hear echoes of it in the lives of every undocumented individual being ripped from the homes and lives they fought so vigorously to create.

things you DO need to be a man
the swiftness of a coursing river
the force of a great typhoon

tumblr leftists being surprised to see middle aged white women with signs or hats saying "deny defend depose" really reinforces for me that tumblr leftists don't actually talk to people lmao. like I did a lot of canvassing as a teenager and you know who the best most reliable political organizers are? middle aged women. you know who's bloodthirsty after watching rachel maddow every night and sharing HuffPo articles on facebook? middle aged women. maybe sheryl from iowa who's been voting religiously for democrats for the past thirty years IS more hardcore than you, tumblr user who did a write-in "protest vote." what are you going to do about that.
