I had someone ask me about how Winerva’s puppet works, and that’s actually a really great question because it’s a little bit unconventional!

When planning the build, I decided it would be best to make her a live hand puppet since she would need to be able to easily handle and switch between books and other props during her segments. However, live hand puppets have to be operated by two people in order for them to have both hands, and I do not have an assistant puppeteer to help me with preforming or filming.

This behind the scenes picture from Sesame Street shows the difference between live hand vs rod puppets very clearly in case you’re unfamiliar. Ernie is a live hand puppet, his hands are basically gloves that require two people to operate fully while Bert is a rod puppet, whose head and arms can be controlled by a single puppeteer.

Since I’m right handed, I use my right hand to control a puppets head and my left to operate the hand(s). If I gave Winerva two live hand style arms, i wouldn’t be able to control her right arm and it would be floppy and shapeless, which isn’t really what I wanted for her. I wanted to at least have the illusion that she has two operable hands. So, her right arm is built the same way my rod puppets are! (Arm and hand made of foam with wire in the hand for poseability.)

This behind the scenes picture from the corn maze shows her off in action. While her right arm isn’t doing much, it still has shape and doesn’t look like an empty glove lol.

I guess this kind of makes her a hybrid live hand/rod puppet? She doesn’t actually have an arm rod in her right arm but theoretically one could be used to control it.

A: All characters on the site (outside of the Imaginarium) belong to and were created by myself, WithKinderEyes. This is not an open source project. Story/character submissions aren't accepted and game jacking is heavily frowned upon. The Imaginarium is a place for old imaginary friends to go to rest, not a space to display your OC. Please keep Imaginarium submissions within the spirit of the game.

Q: Can I sell fan merchandise?

A: No merchandise. Pendog is a volunteer project, not a company. The best way to support the project monetarily is through our patreon, in the future this might allow us to create our own merchandise!

Q: Can I make NSFW fan works?

A: Fan works of an adult nature are fine, but please keep them to designated adult only spaces. If posting them online, use the tag "horndogcreative" to keep works of this nature out of the main tags and away from people who do not wish to see them.

Q: Can I make a fan OC: Can I ship my OC with characters from PCL?

A: Creating fan characters and self-shipping is allowed and encouraged! Let your creative juices flow!

Q: How old is the project/characters? Is the story already written or changing as it goes?

A: The characters created for this project are several years old! I created the oldest of them around 2018. I have a pre-set plan of where I want this story to go and am committed to not changing it just because people might theorize correctly. That being said, works from before the creation of this website should not be considered canon.

Q How do I get in contact with the creator/people behind this project?

A: Please don't! Treat me and the team like you would anyone else, we're all just strangers to you at the end of the day. Please respect my boundaries and do not message others to try and get in touch with me. Our project is primarily composed of and ran by trans and queer artists. By the very nature of this project, we are extremely leftist and against "return to tradition" types.
