No tutorial exists that will stop you at some point ruining this poor piece of cloth. Just so you younger ADHD people know this, it's pretty accepted that the hormone shifts associated with menopause exacerbate ADHD. Looks like a lot of uterus-havers realize or get diagnosed then, because the coping skills they'd developed stop being enough. My memory is much worse than it used to be, and it's really upsetting, but we're all working to help me find coping skills. It'd be nice if we lived in a society where this didn't blindside quite so many people.

On the other hand, when I'm reasonably content I now vocal stim way more, which is silly and wouldn't fly in some households, but I think it's kinda fun.

For anyone confused: what is happening in Los Angeles has nothing to do with protests or civil unrest. It also has less to do with immigration than you might think, that’s just the pretext that got us here.

As a city, Los Angeles has always stood directly against what the Trump administration stands for. It is a community filled with Latinos and immigrants of all kinds that consistently votes against MAGA. It is the second largest city in the country and has a well-earned reputation of being liberal.

So Trump decided to attack it.

He needed an excuse to do it. The VERY STANDARD protests against ICE were just that. A flimsy excuse, but one he could point to so those he’s conned would think he’s justified. He may have even escalated ICE operations in Los Angeles to get us to this point.

And every decision he makes is to create more civil unrest to “justify” sending in more armed forces which will create more civil unrest.

This is an attack on an American city by the sitting president because they won’t bow to him like a king. Don’t let anyone tell you different.

Pattern Spotlight: Frosty Blackwork Filler Stitches

It's time to level up visible mending with a blast from the past.

This kind of embroidery blossomed in the 16th and 17th centuries, when embroiderers worked to express their creativity or record pictures of the world around them. You can decide to draw any shape you want, and then shade it in with "filler" stitches that provide a sturdy grip between torn fabric and a patch.

These patches take the hardest part of the whole deal out of your hands! Instead of trying to count the correct number of threads to stitch (and on a t-shirt, how would you even?) you just let the stick-on pattern show you exactly where to stitch. Then when you dip your project in water, the pattern disappears, and only your work remains.

I made them partly because I love the idea of visible mending and sashiko, but I got a little frustrated having random patterns everywhere. I wanted a way to give it a tidier, more artistically complete feel.

hate when people think the only archetype possible for a male sidekick to a female protagonist is a soft boi and/or himbo. like the implication there is that the only reason a man would ever defer to a woman’s authority is if he was a bumbling idiot. love male supporting characters who are smart and strong and confident and can step up when necessary but still kind and humble enough to let someone else take the lead most of the time
