friendly reminder re: caitlyn jenner that many well-intentioned cis people are still learning

so while petty comments about her gender transition (calling her bruce, using the wrong pronouns on purpose, etc.) are obviously malicious, the cis people who are complimenting her appearance (not as a comparison to cis bodies but generic stuff like “I love her hair!”) are doing so because that’s their way of being supportive. yes it might be problematic in terms of favoring cis beauty standards or privileging those who pass, but it’s a step in the right direction

it’s scary to think with all the minors on here that 18+ tumblr activists are inevitably going to wind up labeling children transmisogynistic because they tried to say something nice
