seungcheol frowns. "where is she?"

it's past midnight, and the dorm is mostly quiet—except for the members who are still awake, now on a mission to find their missing youngest. it started when jeonghan went to check on you and found your room empty, bed untouched.

"she was in the living room earlier," minghao says, rubbing his eyes sleepily.

"i saw her in the kitchen after that," seokmin adds. "she was making tea."

"okay, so she couldn't have gone far," seungkwan sighs, arms crossed. "unless she got kidnapped—"

"she did not get kidnapped, seungkwan," wonwoo deadpans.

"what if she left to get snacks?" mingyu suggests.

"then she would've told us," dino says, already checking the dorm's front door. "her shoes are still here."

"so she's definitely inside," joshua confirms. "then we just have to find her."

and so begins the latest round of "find the baby," a game that has unfortunately become routine ever since the members realized you had the bizarre habit of falling asleep in the strangest places.

jun checks the living room first, peeking behind the couch.

"not here."

woozi searches the studio, but all he finds is a half-full cup of tea on the desk.

"she was here recently," he calls out.

hoshi checks the bathroom. vernon checks the laundry room. jeonghan peeks inside every closet, just in case.

no sign of you.

"okay, seriously, where—"

"uh, guys?"

everyone turns to chan, who's standing by wonwoo's bookshelf, staring at something with a mixture of amusement and concern. they rush over and follow his gaze—

there you are. curled up in the narrow space between the bottom shelf and the wall, fast asleep.

"you've got to be kidding me," seungkwan whispers.

"why is she like this?" mingyu mutters.

"how did she even fit in there?" jun asks, genuinely impressed.

seungcheol sighs, crouching down to brush a strand of hair from your face. you stir slightly but don’t wake.

"she must've been exhausted," joshua says softly.

"of course she was," jeonghan huffs. "she's been overworking herself again."

"we need to move her," seokmin says.

minghao raises an eyebrow. "you wanna wake her up?"

seokmin shuts up.

"i'll carry her," wonwoo says, surprising everyone. he carefully slides his arms under you and lifts you with ease. you instinctively nuzzle into his chest, and the entire room collectively melts.

"she's so cute when she's asleep," hoshi coos.

"she's cute all the time," minghao corrects.

wonwoo carries you to your bed while the others quietly follow. once you're tucked in, seungcheol pulls the blanket over you, and jeonghan makes sure your stuffed animal is within reach.

"she's gonna wake up confused again," dino whispers.

"as always," vernon chuckles.

they all linger for a moment, watching you breathe evenly. then, one by one, they quietly shuffle out, leaving you to sleep peacefully—until the next time they have to play "find the baby."

"oooh, something smells good." vernon's hands slip into your hoodie's front pocket as he settles in behind you, half-awake right now but nevertheless enticed into the kitchen. he plants a sleepy kiss against your jaw before snuggling in, body leaning fully against you for a moment. "for us?"

"mmhm." you reach up, gently patting his cheek for a moment before you go back to what you're doing. "well. this one is," you nod toward the makings of a cobbler in front of you. "the one in the oven is for work."

he lets out a quiet hum, enough that you know he's listening, and he shifts subtly so that his weight isn't fully on you anymore. "... do we have ice cream?"

"just vanilla."

"sick." he squeezes you a little tighter. "... am i in the way?"

"a little," you say. the moment you feel his hands start to retreat, you stop what you're doing, grabbing his arms before he can move away. "i didn't say to leave, though."

you can feel his smile as he plans against kiss against your jaw, a little closer to your ear this time. you know that the coziness between the two of you is short-lived: by the time you get home this evening, you'll be exhausted. too sleepy to curl up and really enjoy spending time with your partner, and most likely you'll get teased by him for falling asleep on his shoulder again.

not that he minds. and not that you mind, either, actually. he's the love of your life: he's allowed to tease you in ways other people aren't. but you just decide to treasure this moment for now, while you're awake and still gathering the strength to face the day.

wonwoo chuckles, he closes the book in his lap shut, putting it on the bedside table as he removes his glasses and places them on top of the book & dims the lights. "i think the better question is if I can still see when I'm 80, or if I'm even alive!" he laughs a sound so deep your stomach flutters.

"wonwoo! why would you say that?" you whined as you lightly pushed his hand away in faux defiance.

"what?—I'm just being realistic!" he said a little too defensively, but wonwoo cant help the biggest shit-eating grin that makes its way to his face when he watches as your eyes light up in annoyance.

"do you have to be like that all the time? can't we play pretend? that we're 80, old and grey and healthy?" you asked as you turn slightly to look at him.

"if that's the case, then..." he trails off as he pulls you a little closer, just a little, just enough to close the gap between the two of you. he slides his hand down your arm till they reach your hand, interlocking your fingers, "I'd read to you every night 'till death do us apart."

you're certain you can trace the small curve on wonwoo's lips despite the dim lights.

"till death do us apart," you whispered it like it was a sacred promise.

"till death do us apart." wonwoo echoes, as if acknowledging this sacred promise.

a smile tugs at your lips when you feel the soft warmth of wonwoo's lips against your racing temple; your thoughts scatter away with the night wind.

"I love you," you both say at the same time, a sudden freeze in the room.

"I love you too," you both say at the same time.

wonwoo laughs as he pulled the blankets up and tugged you flush against his warm body. an arm goes around you as you settle your head on his chest; the steady rhythm of his heartbeat hypnotising you instantly.

"goodnight, wonwoo."

"goodnight, sleepyhead. I love you, so much."

a kiss on his cheek is the last thing wonwoo feels against his skin as he closes his eyes and moves to cuddle you fully, a smile on his lips as he snuggles further into your hair, breathing you in. & "i love you, wonwoo." is the last thing wonwoo hears before he drifts off to sleep.

woozi: also a joint guy, loves to smoke in his studio and create silly music, he lets you make the joint but most of the times it's him, will also space out bc he is mesmerised with his galaxy theme lights and you both ended up in his couch cuddling and listening to his new song

dokyeom: down for anything but mostly gets high with bong or joint, laughs at everything and anything, he gets more creative with his jokes and its more funny than usual ( yeah he can be more funny) will get SUPER CLINGY like expect being wrapped in his arms and kisses most of the time
