tl;dr.     ok so for this gal, let's all give a big, warm welcome to sadness ( no, i was in no way at all inspired by salem from sabrina for that line ) bc boy oh boy, her life has been constant grief and pain, tbh. strap in for the bumpy ride, i'll give u cookies for compensation. OK SO, fenisha was abandoned as a baby, never did—and still doesn't—know her biological parents and she doesn't want to either, tbh. she bounced around from foster home to foster home until she was adopted by the lavelle family when she was eight. it was great! they were lovely people who made her feel at home. she loved them, they loved her back. in time, the older she grew, she began to resent the fact that her real parents weren't in the picture; believing she was always gonna be unloved and unwanted even tho the lavelle family did everything they could to make her feel the opposite. anywho, she fell in with the wrong crowd until she was sent off to an all-girls boarding school where she learned how to mellow herself a tad. but, here comes sadness again! at sixteen, her youngest adoptive sister passed away from cancer which made fenisha withdraw before, finally, acting out again. pressing the self-destruct button is this gal's speciality. did the pain stop? NOPE bc a year later her adoptive father passed away from huntington's disease. this time, she tried to bury her sadness, repress it and move on. for the most part, it worked. but still, she found herself gravitating towards her vices—things and people she knew were no good for her. drink, drugs, people, you name it. quickly, she realised that these things were no longer any good at keeping her dark side at bay: she needed something more, something deeper. thus, she began going down the road of petty crimes—stealing cars, smashing windows, theft, setting fires both metaphorically and literally. due to this lifestyle, she wound up entangled with some real shady folk who did ... even shadier things. most specifically, she started dating a real jackass who was violent and truthfully, a horrible person, really. fast forward a year or so and things took a swift nosedive when her lowlife boyfriend’s hands were round her throat and not in the kinky way. while she’d clawed at him and tried to fight him off, she struggled against his weight and strength until, eventually, all she could recall was waking up with a searing headache: the lights and noises just too much to handle. it wasn’t until she’d lost control to overwhelming bloodlust that she realised the truth: her boyfriend had turned her into a vampire. naturally, at first, she was horrified and it took her a hella long time to adjust but once she had, she kind of relished in her new life. once she got a grip on her nature, she joined the conclave and climbed the ranks where she now rests as a capo. all in all, she kind of digs who she is and what she is: after everything she's been through, she loves herself. it's been a long and winding road but fenisha finally believes that she's settled in her life now even if she is an overachiever who invests way more time in her job than she should. oop. tho she still refuses to let people in, her abandonment issues terrifying her to the degree that she feels that anybody she'd ever let into her life would eventually leave her in the end. *insert sad face emoji here.*

tl;dr.     ok, i’ll admit: this is kinda ... messy. I’M SORRY. i’m blaming this on the fact that it’s late here so pls forgive me! alrighty, so—like a zillion years ago ( ok, that’s Too Much of an exaggeration on my part but u catch my drift ) danika was born into a wealthy family so she has always been, how do u say ... full of her own self importance and is kinda entitled. growing up, she was spoiled and wanted for nothing: she and her brother were given love and light and had a strong bond. she had a good childhood and her teenage years were just as positive. she never had one of those rebellious phases, prob bc she had an adequate amount of admiration and adoration from her family. her father was a businessman and was always travelling so fast forward into the far future and we’re on the seas, a month or so long travel. good thing she isn’t sea sick, eh? well, she definitely isn’t now but she wasn’t back then. again, it’s late, i’m sorry! but yeah, in an unexpected twist of fate, their ship was wrecked during a real rough storm, leaving the remains ( and those who were left alive ) washed up on the shore of a remote island. her father and brother had died, lost at sea. but her mother had survived with a few of their maids and servants who were also onboard. for weeks, danika, her mother and the rest existed on the sandy island, living off what they could. eventually, as expected, people started to drop like flies and her mother eventually passed away in due time. in the end, it was poor danika on her own for weeks. she’d grown delirious, dehydrated and practically was starving to death. finally, on death’s door, she thought it had been an outer body experience when the figure had loomed over her; seeking her permission. she thought she had died already or was imagining it, a hallucination maybe. a while later and BAM, she’s awake and feeling energised and reborn. she felt ... transformed. and in more ways than one, she was. turned out, she possessed abilities to lure men to their death with the power of her siren song. all of which it took a hella long time for her to adjust to ( especially her new eating habits, eek ) but nowadays, she’s fully embraced herself and truly believes that it was her will to stay alive that kept her going against all odds, when, in reality, she should have been dead centuries ago. she fully embraces life and she is overly confident in herself and has an inner strength that is truly impressive. hence when the opportunity arose to become the siren underboss for the syndicate, she grabbed it with both hands and boy, does she adore the role.

tl;dr.     alrighty, where do we start with this lil spitfire? she uhhh ... has a lot of issues and is quite distant bc of it. nerissa was the product of an affair between an esteemed fae ( caliban ) and a fire faerie ( enya ). though nerissa never had the chance to meet her birth mother as her step-mother ( nyx ) banished enya shortly after she gave birth. enya’s banishment was a result of the rage nyx held toward her. in part, due to her inability to conceive a child of her own and also due to her anger for her husband’s affair. thus, nerissa grew up under the impression that her biological mother was nyx; neither of her parents divulging the truth behind her parentage. although nerissa was not biologically nyx’s daughter, nyx adored the young fae as if she were her own blood. in truth, nerissa spent more time with her ‘mother’ than with her father. in part, caliban felt the loss of his mistress even though he refused to acknowledge her part in his daughter’s birth. basically, he never had any time for nerissa and excluded her from everything. still, she remained upbeat about it, thinking that one day she'd win his love. she did not. shocker. growing up, life was mostly positive for nerissa. her father’s guards protected her, and his warlock friends aided her with her abilities and taught her the fae ways as well as those of the human beliefs. as the years passed by, nerissa grew stronger and smarter; becoming an adored figure among her fellow fae, yet, in the background, tensions rose between nyx and caliban when their family dynamic became endangered by nyx’s threat of revealing the truth behind nerissa’s heritage. in fear of their secret becoming common knowledge ( and most importantly, ariela finding out ), caliban ordered for his wife to be executed for ‘treason.’ of course, nerissa tried to protest this due to her love for the woman she believed to be her mother but her attempts to prevent her father’s ruling were futile. days later, nyx was publicly beheaded by one of caliban’s most loyal guards. this act served to place a wedge further between nerissa and her father and as the years ticked by, until his untimely demise which was when nerissa left her home behind. soon after, she joined the syndicate where she now sits as the right hand for the fae. to this day, she remains unaware of her true parentage and continues to struggle with the haunting nightmares of her childhood. so yah, nerissa had a pretty rough childhood but she's bounced back. well, about as much as you'd expect from someone who grew up feeling unwanted and unloved. really, she just always tries her best and is a perfectionist and wants to protect her kind.
