Does meiying consider yoongi's parents her parents as well? What is their relationship like? You said before that yoongi was the one who mainly raised her and is her legal guardian but i know she was initially adopted by them so I was just wondering.

Their relationship is relatively strange because although she does call them 'mother' and 'father' out of respect for the fact that they adopted her despite their financial situation, they have never truly treated her as their daughter. They were nearly always absent throughout the rest of her childhood, to the point where Meiying was living with the BTS members on training breaks because otherwise no one would be there to take care of her - which in truth hurt her deep down. Prior to adoption, she was orphaned for nearly 8 years and so though she saw Yoongi as more of a father, she did consider them 'parents' to some extent.

Yoongi's parents care about the young woman ; although they did not attend the ring ceremony they saved money to celebrate, they insist that she come visit, they attend as many concerts as they can, they brag about her achievements to their friends, etc. Even though they have never built this 'parents - child' connection, they've grown to genuinely love their daughter and continue to work towards that relationship even to this day - something that is going relatively well as their mother has begun calling her 'my beautiful daughter'. Meiying has always reached out to them since her adoption and although having faced rejection countless times, they slowly began holding out their hands too. So in conclusion ; the love and care they have for Meiying is deep but not quite 'parental' as of yet, perhaps in the near future!

Meiying's recent live broadcast has become the most widely discussed topic amongst netizens as not only did it involve a response to the ongoing discourse involving fellow band member, Hoshi, but one surprise guest appearance revealed shocking fragments of the maknae's romantic history to viewers. While fanbases have been arguing throughout social media on the man's intentions in liking an instagram reel praising their group's performance at the 2019 MAMA, the young woman's words hold the most weight due to her status as Min Yoongi's adoptive sister, who was under the rapper's guardianship until coming of age - meaning she has grown up around BTS members.

"We were handed an award that was completely fake that year, which showed utter disrespect towards us so it's not a stretch to believe that we were not being judged fairly in any category. Even without taking this into consideration, there is so much tireless practice that goes into preparing performances on this scale, so we're allowed to take pride in our stages and find value in them. You need to have some spare time on your hands if you can criticize an idol on the internet for simply liking a reel about his own work, because I guarantee you that no one in the industry found that offensive, and no one truly cares. Has Hoshi oppa liked the comments speaking negatively of my brother's group? Has he written or made any comments showing disrespect to them? Get a life, seriously..."

Despite the comments increasing in aggression towards that very simple statement, something even more controversial followed - with Meiying saying that despite their seniors inarguably paving the way into wider international audiences later down the line, SEVENTEEN achieved initial success without their help until the breakthrough. An important thing that netizens should retain from this surprisingly composed broadcast was the producer explaining that someone praising certain groups or speaking out against what they perceive to be injustices does not imply that they wish to bring others down as in the end, idols' successful careers are nearly always due to the blood, sweat, and tears they place in their artistry and can exist independently from the achievements of others.

Meiying alone went through constant exhaustion at young ages as the company could not spare enough money to properly promote their upcoming debut - leading to the maknae performing alongside former mentor, T.O.P, and by extension BIGBANG, to draw attention to SEVENTEEN despite barely having the amount of stamina to keep up with the much more experienced dancers. In addition to the added practices these stages required, the maknae that was no more than 13-14 at the time also spent hours in the music studio alongside co-producer, Woozi, not only to hone their talent so that they can function under the self-produced label but also to draft hundreds of tracks for their upcoming extended play '17 Carat' - throughout which she consistently placed first in terms of credits. There are countless strenuous processes that the members had to push through to gain popularity, such as Minghao and Meiying learning dangerous stunts, but this was only fraction of the evidence supporting that SEVENTEEN gained their initial popularity through hard work and not outside help from more widely known groups - which is demonstrated in the fact that they have always risen through the ranks steadily since debut.

Unfortunately, netizens have never been known to show mercy in any shape and those that had only joined to seek negativity began speaking on the traumatizing story behind the young woman's scarred eye in order to exact revenge for those statements that they deemed offensive, and it became so intense that Yoongi sat down in frame to make his presence known. Even fans that will go to unimaginable lengths to 'defend' their favorite artists have learned that Meiying is the one person that the rapper will protect no matter the costs to his career - having admitted to cussing out BigHit's founder himself regarding her mistreatment prior to BTS debuting. Thankfully, what began as nothing more than damage control gave viewers heart warming clips, specifically near the incident that revealed personal information ; when the vocalist leaned into the older man's embrace whilst his hand soothingly rubbed her arm, occasionally asking whether she was hungry and pointing out with surprising worry that Meiying had lost weight.

Amongst this recovered peace, another member appeared in view when wrapping his arms around the young woman's shoulders to steal her from her irritated brother's hold, uttering the sentence that managed to unite their fandoms in consternation after reaching for the mute button and effectively failing : "They're trying to make it look like you secretly despise us or something as if we hadn't dated for what... like almost 2 whole years? What's up with those fan wars seriously". Taehyung jokingly proposed that they raise rumors during this very broadcast while pulling Meiying closer, and what shocked netizens more than every single word uttered in what could barely be counted as an entire minute was the obvious change in demeanor when the vocalist reminded him that she was currently in a relationship.

When taking notice of the fact that the viewers had heard everything neither appeared to panic, simply confirming that they were romantically involved with each other in the past and moving on with speaking about Meiying's acceptance of the Recording Academy's invitation earlier that day. Throughout social media platforms speculations regarding the man's possible feelings towards his ex-girlfriend have replaced baseless accusations towards Hoshi's intentions, with many already gathering video clips they believe to be evidence.

With that new information their behaviors towards each other in earlier years certainly make more sense, and we can only hope that they continue to uphold such closeness in their friendship regardless of their past. Considering her injury, was mei able to attend 2023 caratland? Not dancing or anything, obviously, but did they allow her to just be there?

Caratland was the very first schedule that the maknae attended when HYBE lifted her hiatus and she actually performed with the members throughout the majority of the event despite wearing a knee brace that restricted many movements. Meiying even gave her all in the cover portion and successfully went through Stray Kids' 'Charmer' choreography, bouncing around on stage when came the remaining idols' turns.

Since the hip-hop unit had taken on the vocal unit's song she was able to sit down, but unfortunately for the people that were trying to look out for the maknae, that moment of rest was entirely ruined when she joined the performance unit to perform the energetic 'Back It Up'. When came the iconic endless '아주 Nice', she was being passed around on everyone's backs because S.Coups deemed it necessary to trap her otherwise she would likely run off and pull tricks that would reduce the rather recent surgery to nothing. The pain afterwards paralyzed Meiying during several days, but she was happy to have been there to interact with everyone and reassure them that despite how intimidating all the healing processes involved in the injury were, she was recovering just fine and would be alright.

I'm still sorting some things with my new uni since I had to transfer but otherwise it's not so bad here. [Disclaimer ; I'm not well educated in the political controversy surrounding the Republic of China so the term 'Chinese Line' and 'Chinese Idols' will be regarded as any member whose mother tongue or primary language growing up is/was a language spoken in China.]

Jun and Minghao practically forced Meiying and Chenle to get along by setting up 'playdates' whilst they watched over the younger idols, because they wanted their maknae to have friend outside of their members. While they are not particularly close they do get excited when seeing each other, and can always be seen gossiping.

Although Meiying and Renjun have interacted numerous times in the past they remain on friendly terms, not necessarily to the point where they would seek out each other's company however. Meiying's close relationship to YangYang was also due to the overbearing parents sending their child to play with other '00 liners, but this time it worked out much better because they frequently contact one another outside of social settings and even talk about their friendship to fans.

. . Xiaoting from Kep1er and Yuqi from i-dle. Although the other two women wanted to get close to China Liners they were too shy to approach anyone, so Meiying took it upon herself and they've been friends ever since then! They've been seen quite a few times having dinner together or going to amusement parks, sometimes joined by Minghao and Jun (though they look more like chaperones because the girls are always too busy talking and giggling with each other)

Zhang Hao from ZB1 and Meiying have also been seen together in public following Boys Planet and although they aren't that close to each other, they've always spoken fondly of one another. There have been a few instances where they received a call from the other during lives and every interaction is very lighthearted as it's usually them checking up on their friend or wanting to know how they day went. Meiying unfortunately hasn't managed to get close to other Chinese idols yet, but she does have close Korean friends in other groups!

Jackson Wang from GOT7 and Meiying are surprisingly close despite the age gap since they both have this easy-going energy, and he was actually the first older idol she approached without needing encouragement. They're seen together veeeery often but don't worry, she makes sure to remind him that he's nearly as old as the man that raised her...

. . Here is the thing ; our maknae used to prefer bland food, but having spent lots of time around Jun changed her eating habits so now she leans more towards spicy food - at times very very spicy. It was honestly forced at first because he would accidentally put too much spice in the food he made her, but she would eat it anyway to not hurt his feelings and in the end she learned to enjoy it!

Bang Chan had this poor girl in the tightest chokehold when they got to know each other back in early 2018, as JYPE used the maknae as an example for the performance level his trainees should be aiming to reach. Meiying was completely entranced by the rapper but determined to place every ounce of focus into the group's career as the role of co-producer made their success heavily dependent on the amount of effort placed in her work. They did end up sharing a shy kiss on the 2019 New Year celebration and several more after, but when the leader asked to perhaps attempt to form a romantic relationship she declined. The producers are very close friends to this day and he's actually the reason she has an accent when speaking English

Meiying used to have her own cooking show on the SEVENTEEN YouTube channel where she would invite idols from active groups (mainly her friends, which allowed fans to look into her private life to some extent), but it eventually went on hiatus due to busy schedules and health issues - mainly injuries. This was what pushed Joon and Brian to invite her to promote 'Spill The Feels' for their second episode.

Unlike what she presents in more 'formal' promotion contents the maknae mirrored their energies and began swearing freely, which shocked them at first since they had never seen that side of her even while watching numerous videos in order to get to know her on a deeper level before her appearance on the show. They eventually just accepted it and she even joined their banter as all three of them roasted the every living hell out of each other. Then came the spice challenge... thanks to Jun she survived without any problems and teared up laughing as they gave reactions that looked exaggerated but were just their actual instinctive responses

The fact that their energies matched so well was taken into heavy consideration when inviting her onto the second season, but also the fact that they were curious about the longest rooming arrangement in the entire group, so she went with Joshua! This time Meiying wanted problems with everybody, she had banter with Brian, she would swear back and forth with Joon and even picked (friendly) fights with Shua-

Mingyu wanted to make his move the year prior, when the closeness between San and Meiying became more obvious to the people around them, but unfortunately they began dating before he had the chance to do so. Deep down though he was aware of just how much brighter she was with San so even now he believes that they're fine just where they are, because if he had asked her out earlier then she might not have had those experiences with her ex-boyfriend and as much as he won't admit it aloud, they were beautiful memories. Besides he likes the unique way their relationship started ; slowly getting closer / blooming romance in Italy, sharing a heated kiss in front of their friends at her birthday party and having an emotional moment charged in hot and heavy (wink wink) tension at her apartment when he gathered the courage to confess 🤭

Yoongi was the one that raised Meiying, so as you can imagine his brazenness greatly influenced the maknae, which has gotten her in numerous scandals as she's openly expressed distaste towards things such as ; disrespectful juniors, injustices during award shows, lazy performances, etc. Many netizens have also asked about the accuracies of certain 'Best Rappers in K-Pop' videos and unfortunately for their rigorous media training, she's been speaking rather objectively on why something is or is not true through her position as producer - and she's even outright challenged reporters on rude questions during press conferences

G-Dragon invited Meiying to perform 'Home Sweet Home' on the opening day of his Übermensch tour in Goyang on March 29th and this surprisingly created division in Korean fans as they viewed her as the symbolic representation of T.O.P. The maknae's clothes fueled those suspicions as it consisted of a red leather bomber jacket paired with fingerless white gloves and several loose silver chains, which was likely a reference to her former mentor's most viewed fancam - 'Bang Bang Bang' at M Countdown (150611). T.O.P's possible, yet unfortunately unlikely, return to BigBang has long been a controversial topic, specifically within the Korean fanbase, and so mere implications of the man's presence on stage through his former protégée became a surprisingly large scale scandal.

In truth, G-Dragon insisted on having her present during that specific song because it was reminiscent of the old days as she used to perform alongside the group when she was only a trainee to draw more attention to SEVENTEEN, earning her the title of 'BigBang's Princess'. The track itself speaks on a return to something so familiar that it feels like 'home', and since Meiying had created this sense of belonging with them, it was only right that she be part of that 'sweet home' after 7 long years of waiting. As for the outfit, the rapper had actually approved it beforehand - partially because he knew just how painful performing a song meant for BigBang without her mentor would be.

Arguably the biggest scandal to date was regarding the vocalist's nearly three and a half years long withdrawal from Chinese media appearances, unless it was for group schedules, due to disrespect faced in late 2021. In August that year the Chinese Line were invited on a widely known variety show and unfortunately due to what had taken place following the article's release, Meiying was wearing gauze over the large scar over her blind eye - making it clear that she had no intent on speaking about the reason behind this. The hosts appeared to take this as an opportunity to make jokes about how at the very least her father's abuse gave her unique visuals that appealed to the K-Pop scene and proceeded to praise the man by rambling on about how unfortunate his passing was due to his contributions to Chinese entertainment

Jun and Minghao attempted to stop them politely by pointing out that the topic was insensitive to bring up and that their maknae was visibly uncomfortable, but when they failed to stop by brushing it off as nothing more than appreciating culture along with making simple jokes, Meiying left without further explanation. Pledis Ent., then issued a statement saying that in light of what happened during that show, the idol had decided to step away from the entertainment scene in her home country - especially considering that numerous other show hosts have thrown shade at her whilst praising her biological father. Chinese netizens called her ungrateful, rude, stuck up, etc., and demanded she apologize, but in the end Meiying came back only when the broadcasting stations featuring the hosts that made comments of the sort issued public apologies 3 years later. Unfortunately, even to this day, she subconsciously retains those responses despite not remembering much from her childhood, only what was written in the 2021 article. Nobody knew about this, not even the maknae herself, but due to Seungcheol's large stature combined with sudden bursts of aggression, loudness, or anger, he was the one that triggered it the most. Whenever his mannerisms became too aggressive, the young woman would flinch and rapidly change spots to anchor herself to Jeonghan or Minghao, going non-verbal for minutes on end even when members attempted to bring her into the conversation.

There are still times to this day where something in the surroundings trigger this response but most intense instances were focused around the time where the article came out since being forced to remember by such vivid words made her extremely vulnerable. Dokyeom's initial experience with this trauma response was when he wanted to hug their maknae following a rather demanding practice as he swung his arms open much too close to her whilst running in her direction. Meiying immediately flinched and whilst she backed away, Minghao could tell that she couldn't really 'see' Dokyeom anymore so there was no distinction between friend and threat

Dino has also triggered it around that time as despite the fact that the Maknaez are usually very physically close to one another in high-energy environments, that one time just so happened to be on the wrong day. The group was playing basketball and as they stood on the sidelines to cheer on their respective teams, he wrapped his arm around her shoulders tightly and rapidly, which made it look like a threat to her brain. Meiying immediately shoved him away and her body instinctively placed itself in a position to run away, but unlike what happened with Dokyeom she could still make that distinction between trauma and real life so Dino apologized and it dissolved relatively quickly - though, afterwards, the older members did explain to him why this was happening

With S.Coups there were multiple times during which she had that intense moment where he becomes a complete stranger, especially at the beginning of their career, but due to her localized amnesia and the fact that no-one knew about her childhood it was almost impossible to avoid. Nowadays it comes down to reflexes more than anything, so where he moves too aggressively near or towards her, those moments will be more like flashes where only for brief seconds she sees him as a threat

Minghao noticed there was something wrong since they were children as she tended to shut down during certain moments, going completely mute for what could be days at a time, so he always watched carefully. He's developed some sense of familiarity with these responses, especially after learning about what really happened to make her this way, and can usually tell when he needs to be very slow and gentle. Calmer members in general have never truly experienced the response firsthand, only ever witnessing it with outsiders or more high-energy members

Hii! It's no problem at all, I'm always here to clear anything up for you guys and I know it wasn't exactly the clearest in the article, so here's the timeline ;

Early 2021 [ 'Let's Go, Seventeen!' ] ; During this content shoot the maknae's left ACL tore for the first time, going from Grade 1 (mild sprain) to Grade 2 (partial tear) as a hiatus request was rejected by the company in light of upcoming schedules. HYBE had gained control over Pledis Entertainment and wished to continue using Meiying's unique visuals to get the group more traction in other fandoms, so they deemed the opportunity more important than rest

January 2023 [ 'Right Here' World Tour in Bulacan ] ; The second concert date in that stadium marked her second ACL tear, this time immediately resulting in a Grade 3 (complete tear) for which she was flown back to Korea urgently to receive surgery as medical professionals feared severe long-term effects due to her previous tear in that very same knee. HYBE gave her 3 months of recovery, allowing return to activities in early May 2023.

July 2023 [ TMEA Music Festival ] ; Meiying's unbroken fall from a 7 feet tall platform resulted in a full thickness tear of her left rotator cuff, for which she received surgery seven days later. There was no hiatus taken for this injury and no sling was in sight during performances, though it was worn throughout her everyday life

Additional ; Meiying is expected to go on another hiatus some time this year alongside S.Coups so that they can undergo their second surgery to remove the metal hardware in their knees. Although the maknae is still recovering from the two injuries sustained in 2023 to this day, she's regained somewhat normal functioning in both joints - though there are many instances where she can be seen in pain

S.Coups was unfortunately completely destroyed by what happened on stage that day, so much so that despite Meiying attempting to comfort him while the doctor was patching up the lacerations, he wouldn't even get close to her. 13 whole days passed before the leader could muster up the courage to touch her and even now he feels a deep sense of guilt whenever he sees her flinching when moving that arm. The accident made him re-think his leadership capabilities as a whole because at the end of the day if he had paid attention to the broken stage none of that would have happened, but she knows it's not his fault, and somehow her not blaming him for it makes him feel even worse about the situation especially considering that he failed to secure a longer hiatus for her ACL tear 😔

The Ghost Maknae's disregarded condition raises concerns amongst fans

Pledis Entertainment recently released an overdue statement regarding the schedule update of SEVENTEEN's Mei following the stage accident that took place earlier this month, and merely stating that netizens were outraged by its content would be an understatement as even separate fandoms have begun speaking on the situation negatively. While it was expected that the maknae would be absent from the upcoming 'Follow' tour until recovery as it is to take place mere days away, the notice declared that despite having suffered numerous lacerations, muscular trauma and a tear to her left rotator cuff, there would be no accommodations nor changes made to upcoming activities - though she went through surgery just this morning.

Here was the accident that ignited such indignation from the internet ; the TMEA Music Festival stage was closed by the hip-hop unit and while the youngest rapper was placed in hazardous situations due to the dangerous nature of certain stunts, everything unfolded without issue until the final note. Although the reason was not explicitly revealed by the company themselves, nor the artist who has not yet had the chance to speak on the matter, attendees caught sight of blood dripping down her skin when the lights went out whilst one shaking hand pressed against what looked to be a limp arm. Amongst the rumors arising from uncertainty, an anonymous venue employee released footage taken from backstage ; showing that numerous parts of the flimsy wooden flooring having shattered during the previous performance caused S.Coups to stumble and miss the thin window of time available to catch the maknae.

While netizens initially believed that it was the artist's choice as she is widely known to be somewhat workaholic, cryptic posts from their leader revealed that tensions were high between SEVENTEEN and HYBE due to everyone attempting to reason that she needed more time, especially considering the gravity of her previous ACL tear in 2021 - going from a Grade 1 to Grade 2 in light of their carelessness.

The intense strain during powerful choreographies has become clear over the past month ; as not only is the young woman's knee appearing to give out numerous times within three minute tracks, but she has demonstrated an inability to sit down on furniture such as chairs or couches. Half opened curtains rustled behind the oldest members as their maknae returned from the balcony, distractedly running a toothbrush across her teeth whilst humming at something on her phone - glancing up from the screen momentarily to wave at fans watching the ongoing livestream. Hurriedly retreating to the bathroom to prevent the paste from dripping onto clean tiled flooring, the young woman hunched over the sink, and just as the last hints of mint were washed down with water, something appearing at the top of her social media feed caught her attention, fingers hurriedly opening the article out of habit.

"Shen Yutao... glass living room table... deep laceration through her eye... amnesia"

Nearly the very same moment that the young woman's eyes widened with every passing word, the leader's own hand was tightening around the device in his hand as he stepped away from the broadcast's frame to process what had just been exposed about their maknae. Just when he began pacing around the room whilst re-reading the article in hopes that it was nothing more than nasty rumors with remarkably realistic proof, loud crashing sounds resonated from the washroom and his heart dropped at the idea that their maknae had come across the forgotten horrors of her past before he was given the chance to protect her from it.

"Princess, are you okay?" Seungcheol asked with a poorly contained tremble in his voice, making his way over to the locked door when no answer came. "Mei?"

Meiying was moving through nothing more than pure automation whilst the concern on the outside continued to rise, trembling fingers hesitantly tracing the pale yet never fading scar traversing an unusual eye as though it would burn her should the pressure of that single touch become too heavy. Everything blacked out momentarily and when the young woman came back to the forefront of her own mind, manicured nails that had been sharpened with the intention of serving as accessories during upcoming performances were digging into the laceration mark in an attempt to carve away the very thing that had caused so much subconscious pain throughout the years.

Something inside the leader's mind screamed with an unknown urgency when yet another noise echoed in the hallway, attempting to force his strong body to knock down the wood separating them no matter what it took, no matter how many bones he may break in the process and without question he did just that. However, what awaited on the other side was something that nothing could have prepared anyone to face : their youngest member kneeling on bathroom tiles wet with fresh blood still dripping through fingers of the hand covering her blind eye.

"I'm sorry I-" Meiying stammered through muted words, tears tightening the force around her vocal chords. "I don't know why I- I...I'm sorry."

Seungcheol moved instinctively to comfort their maknae, yet the unintended force behind his gestures triggered the young woman's trembling body into tensing in an attempt to protect itself and the only thing left in front of him was nothing more than an empty shell whose mind was too far gone to recognize anyone. The rapper watched helplessly while the vocalist disappeared into the night within mere seconds in nothing more than her flimsy sleeveless sleeping set, afraid that the wrong move would scare her away for the last time, as the two men that had remained in the living room - alarmed enough by the commotion to leave their fans suddenly - took notice of the crimson trail leading to the entrance that had just shut in front of them.

[ 11:53 PM ]

"I found you, Lotus." Minghao announced softly in their native tongue whilst sitting alongside his childhood friend. "You can hide from everyone else...but never me."

Meiying demonstrated no reaction to the man's presence aside from one singular glance to ensure that his voice was not another trick of the mind, not bothering to wipe away the warm blood trickling down the eye that ached with much more than simple physical pain as she turned back to the darkness ahead with an alarmingly vacant gaze. Bare feet were laid upon grass stained crimson by the lacerations on delicate soles and scraped knees on which rested hands riddled with cuts attested to just how many times she had fallen down on her journey and yet there was no visible pain response, no attempts to soothe the soreness, only proof that she had run until every muscle snapped with exhaustion.

"Aren't you cold?" He asked despite knowing that no answer would come, slowly sliding a jacket from his shoulders to wrap it around hers. "There, all better."

Without standing, as to not inadvertently initiate trauma responses, the man removed his shirt despite the freezing rain descending on them with the sharpness of countless needles and soaked it in the river running ahead, turning back to the maknae that was now looking at him wearily for the first time. The faintest movement was met with limbs placing themselves in positions that would allow escape should anything more alarm her, and despite knowing she could not truly see his face he inched closer ever so slightly whilst holding out the fabric to show his intention.

"It's me, Lotus, it's me." Minghao took his time, letting her willingly approach him no matter how hesitantly as one would with a frightened kitten. "I won't hurt you."

When the makeshift cloth gently began wiping bloodstained scarred skin, everything that had barely managed to stitch itself together inside the young woman's mind shattered - reddened hands beginning to tremble as she tried so desperately to speak only to be rendered mute by forces neither could see. Meiying's chest heaved with panicked labored breaths rendered even more strenuous by the deplorable condition this escapade had placed her body in and choked sobs were the last thing she could let out before falling into her bandmate's chest, who rapidly enveloped her in his warmth to keep the fragile fragments of her soul from vanishing.

Everyone knew that it was too late, and that whatever demons were locked away in the forgotten depths of her mind would now haunt even the most pleasant dreams.

Juyeon from The Boyz ; Notoriously has several versions of his crush-i mean senior's Miniteen character, and went on many variety shows with her photocard at the back of his phone. Guilty of showing his photocard collection on live and causing dating rumors by accident - he had almost every era...even rare ones

Ji-Woong from ZB1 ; Behold, the biggest simp of them all. Shamelessly flirted with their mentor throughout the show, though it did not seem to have much effect, and to this day acts playfully around her since they switched from 'sunbae/junior' to 'sunbae/oppa'. He's worn her birthday merch and personalized merch in public without a care in the world, shown off signed posters and even went on about why she's his ideal type

Jaehyun from NCT 127 ; Again, these men have no shame, one day he just admitted that he's had a crush on her basically since Jungkook invited her to come to the beach with the '97 liner friend group in 2020. He has pictures of the two of them up on his instagram and made sure to put those as the very first image that people see, so if you scroll down on his page she'll pop up at least 4 times

Honorable Mention ; Shoutout to Xikers' Sumin saying that he truly fell for her charm when watching her rapping stage then outing his senior by saying 'I think Yunho sunbaenim might like her too, he has a few photocards I think and he watched her fancams often'

Meiying didn't say anything since the older members, more specifically Hoshi, were handling the situation but when someone handed her the award she pulled on the skin under her right eye slightly to reveal it more, basically insinuating that MAMA was blind to think they didn't deserve a real one. When the camera filmed the members as they stepped back into the audience, she ran a thumb across her throat

. . Meiying & Woozi are co-producers, which means she's been writing the group's songs since she was around 14 years old, so she's on the same level as Hima! There's just slightly more pressure on her when it comes to being an ace since Pledis put her in two units simultaneously, so for every comeback not only are people judging the track itself (so her skills) but she's being judged on vocals (in group or solo tracks), dancing/performance (perf. unit) and rap (hh. unit)

The maknae appeared on programs like 'Chuang Asia' 'Boys Planet' 'I-Land' and more as a mentor, taking on the responsibility of guiding trainees through their practices, but has refused every request to personally mentor someone. Even though what happened with T.O.P was entirely due to his own personal choices, the idea that perhaps one day she would end up in a similar situation and would need to abandon juniors just like he did to her terrifies her. It isn't that she wants to, it's that she has a deep rooted fear that she'll hurt them in some way

. . Meiying struggled during the 'Your Choice' and 'Attacca' eras despite them being some of her favorites because it was during these comebacks that her first ACL tear happened, unfortunately making her fall behind and going from Grade 1 to Grade 2 since she refused to see a doctor. Netizens didn't know about what had happened so they began criticizing every aspect of her performances on social media, saying that she was lazy, that she should practice more, etc., even though she was maintaining the same level of energy, just with an injury this time so footwork was slightly sloppier

The maknae began spending more time in the practice room to catch up, ignoring the pain shooting through her knee, and she started thinking that she didn't belong in the group as she could not even dance properly. It was Hoshi who found her one night after forgetting something in the building - sitting against the mirror unable to move because her knee had gotten so bad that getting up was genuinely impossible. As one of her unit leaders he took it upon himself to find out what was wrong and she broke down pretty quickly, spilling her heart out to him but despite his best efforts she was still hurting herself on stage by dancing too hard and looking utterly defeated when they didn't win, as though it was her fault Surprisingly enough it was DK who got rid of that 'out of place' thought, not by asking what was wrong, not by trying to get her to talk like the others were doing, but just by being there. He would make her laugh, include her in every group activity in little ways that would ensure she didn't notice it was to make her feel better, he'd mention her a lot on Weverse, on lives, do almost everything with her and slowly it got better

. . Meiying is very similar to Kisa Sohma and Momiji Sohma from the anime 'Fruit Basket'! Similarly to Kisa, past trauma led to fear of being touched and reluctance to trust people until meeting one specific person (Tohru for Kisa, Minghao for Mei) who slowly taught her how to be around people. At the beginning of the show Kisa relied on Hiro to speak for her because she could not do it herself as bullying had made her very reserved, and the trauma Mei experienced rendered her mute. They both have strong dislikes for conflict and very easily break down into tears due to their sensitivity. They can both be clueless despite having experience the bad of the world very early on and need the guidance of people older than them in many situations despite insisting that they can do things by themselves

Similarly to Momiji, despite having no problem with being serious she often displays more childish antics - though underneath the carefree facade that they uphold there are darker things hidden deep down, emotional turmoil, a maturity no one truly gets to see. They both have courage to stand up for those they love even if they are faced with more powerful entities (Akito for Momiji, HYBE, Pledis, or even the media for Mei) and will try to protect them no matter what. As they grew, both of them defied higher entities that were controlling their lives and decided to find a brighter future for themselves without cowering to those entities, but still retain a heart kind enough to forgive whatever wrongs were inflicted on them (to an extent)

. . Their favorite activities currently are jogging together, hiking and skateboarding! In foreign countries they like walking around cities without bothering to look at maps, just exploring until they get tired. They've slowed down slightly on physical activities though since Meiying's knee needed time to rest even a year after surgery, but they love being active together! (Don't worry I have some drabbles planned just like MinAri, buuuut I have some not so happy lore first)

I was actually thinking of that song not too long ago so here's the list : Lights Down Low, Here, Just Keep Watching, Te Amo (Rihanna), Dangerous Woman (whole song), Under The Influence, Promiscuous (haha Hawaii am i right...anyway) and Loveeeeeee Song. All choreographed by our maknae since she suddenly got bored on break - even tho she was literally in Hawaii clubbing with GyuCheol but okay

. . . Meiying Fun Fact [ 1 ] . . .

During the 'Maestro' promotions, the maknae's intact eye was irritated due to the makeup artists inadvertently using expired products, so naturally, the staff had her wear an eyepatch to prevent further irritation. The problem was that they had grown so accustomed to seeing her blind eye's natural color that it did not occur to them that the eye left uncovered could in fact not see, and at first Meiying didn't realize it either - until the world went black. She found it so hilarious that she didn't tell anyone about what was happening and walked around familiar areas with the patch on. People, including members, having seen her eye without contacts for several years now greeted her as if everything was normal and only noticed something was wrong when she had to sign albums as she accidentally signed the table instead. Meiying couldn't look at anyone in the eyes throughout the day and people thought she was being timid, but in reality she couldn't tell where they were located and was likely looking in empty places half of the time.

Meiying immediately giggled at these rather explicit implications before getting to finish reading the tweet, brushing a sharply manicured hand through long unstyled hair before pulling back a lipstick adorned upper lip with her pinky to show them off.

"You mean these?" She asked teasingly. "Sure, just say please next time."

It took several seconds for the maknae to read the text aloud in her native language, tongue running across the tip of her canines to maintain focus whilst she paused to silently ponder over the meaning before a mischievous grin slowly spread onto her lips.

"They'll cut this out if I can't say it, but I actually know who that fan is." She giggled, tilting her head slightly. "She runs a popular fan account and we met several times already...so next time we see each other be sure to repeat that to me."

When finishing that sentence, mismatched eyes looked up at the large man sitting right next to her through long lashes as his grip appeared to tighten on the phone in his hand - a singular eyebrow raising in what many interpreted to be a warning.

In the editing phase, staff members included the video reference by the anonymous fan behind this rather suggestive comment ; the young woman was leaned onto the seat of her motorcycle, laughing at something said by nearby friends before blowing out the smoke towards the ground, absent mindedly twirling the burning cigarette between her fingers.

"I don't think she's dominant like that." Minghao teased, wrapping an arm around his childhood friend's shoulders. "She only plays that way in front of cameras."

Mingyu's breath could be heard catching in his throat through the sensitive mic, which was not missed by the older man's gaze already locked on his own - several beats of silence passing between them before Vernon quickly moved on.

"How do you know it's not happening in private?" The man in question asked, wrapping an arm around her waist before letting his hand stray towards the lower part of her hip.

The maknae that had been teasing members through their own comments went silent the second his fingers brushed against bare skin, cheeks flushing into a deeper red than the accents on her nails. Mingyu took notice of this demeanor change and leaned down to press smirking lips against the side of her neck, moving his large palm to her thigh as he smiled charmingly at the camera.

"Just kidding, SEVENTEEN are just very good friends, our Carats know this."

Seungkwan nearly made their distracted maknae choke on the water she was drinking after reading the tweet in their language much louder than the previous ones, some of the liquid spilling down her shirt as she looked over at her boyfriend's phone to make sure those words were indeed written on their screens.

"I'll-" Meiying's accent became heavier due to embarrassment. "Uhm...I'll come visit them I guess...or arrange for some child support-"

The young woman's lips parted in shock as the member most fluent in that language made very weak attempts to paint this comment in an innocent light, yet the way she laughed at every word that left his mouth silenced him rather quickly. Without much care about idol image that had already been shattered the moment filming began, she leaned over to confirm the translation with him and when a shy nod came as an answer she looked over at their managed standing to the side with amusement in her eyes.

"Well uh..." Meiying cleared her throat, slowly losing her words. "I mean if-if it gives you guys the desire to do so then I'm uhm...glad?"

"Didn't you say that your fans were the most innocent before we started filming?" Vernon chuckled, turning to look at her. "They have very interesting thoughts-"
