You’d cleared your schedule for Dokyeom - purposefully deciding to not complete your Ancient Greek theatre history paper so that you’d have more time for him instead.

It’s just one paper. It’ll be fine. It won’t ruin my grade that much, you tell yourself repeatedly.

Except now, you were all nerves.

‘Can we reschedule maybe?’ You type out, only to undo it for the 30th time in a row and you can’t stop the frustrated whine that makes it out between your pursed lips.

He said it’d only be 30 minutes, but you knew with how nervous you were that the minutes would move agonizingly slow and you just hoped that somehow you’d be able to fill up the time with something.

Tunnel vision 

Wonwoo was in such a state of panic that he forgot to press the button to your floor. He stood there in the back corner of the elevator, his back against the cold metal, while your moans got increasingly louder through his phone speaker. It wasn’t until his neighbor, with an odd look, one in between curiosity and disgust, that he realized that his phone was at full volume and he had been standing staring at the ten little numbered buttons for longer than he intended. Stumbling, he exited the app not before taking in your appearance, close to your orgasm. His heart hurt. He was supposed to be there with you. Pleasing you. A dirty little secret that would go unnoticed by everyone except the two of you. 

Why did you do it? The two of you promised to not let the whole camming business get in between the two of you. And it had done exactly that. He wasn’t sure how to face you when he was so angry and sad at the same time. Where he wanted to hurt you and apologize to you. stressing over the shopping list at the grocery store n you just have to take a hold of his forearm to tell him that it doesn’t matter if you get taeoh red or yellow socks for his school talent show next week because taeoh is 6 and he doesn’t care

loves his kids more than anything in the world and is extremely supportive and encouraging

isn’t very strict but does have house rules, chores and routines and treats every one of his children with respect and love

almost never gets angry or worked up….only when the kids fight or hurt each other will he slightly raise his voice to assert his authority

but always ends his lectures with an i love you and a big hug

the “that’s my kid!!” type of dad

so so proud of his clumsy, messy and comical children

cheered for chorong when she did a handstand in the goal in the middle of a match

It was like time had frozen.

No one dared to say a word. The silence surrounding the four of you screamed at the top of it’s lungs. Your heart was beating against your ears. It was hard to breathe as you looked between Minghao, Maya and Wonwoo.

Wonwoo.

You had never once seen him look at you with so much betrayal, with so much hatred. The warmth in which you once found a home in, was replaced with ice. You couldn’t grasp a coherent thought. They were running faster than the speed of light, full of questions and regret. You close your eyes, silently hoping for someone to break the silence, to crack a joke, anything to distract you from the anxiety that was slowly spreading its way into your lungs.

No one did. Instead you could feel one pair of eyes full of confusion, another one full of pity and another one full of hatred.

“And I missed you, silly,” you giggled, grabbing him and ruffling his hair.

“Hey!” he struggled to get away from you. “I’m the chief of surgery, you can’t do that!”

“Aw come on, Hyunnie,” you laughed. “Don’t be so serious.”

“I need to be,” he grumbled, pulling away from you and smoothing out his hair.

“You know you always were a bit of a stick in the mud, this job suits you,” you grinned, heading down the hallway.

“Don’t make me regret this,” he muttered.

“Relax, I’m one of the top pediatric surgeons in the country. The little darlings are in good hands, Hyunnie.”

“I expect as much,” he sniffed. “And don’t call me Hyunnie.”

[11:55] the way you called junhui after closing the door softly seemed to echo throughout the unusually quiet dorm. joshua had assured you that jun was in fact home through a short text conversation just 30 minutes ago, so the loud quiet that answered your second call of his name seemed quite peculiar. you made a quick process of toeing of your white keds and hanging the jacket you had taken with you when you left your own apartment onto the overfilled coatrack by the entrance. “jun?” you muttered out again as you made it to the door to his room, listening carefully for a split second before you cracked it open. the hinges squeaked in surprise as the door slid open, the sound of cars zooming down the asphalt streamed out of the darkened room and you deduced that jun must have fallen asleep with the window open again.

the lump of blanket in his bed confirmed your suspicions, and as you made a beeline for the opened window it’s seemed to move a little. “y/n?” the sleepy man mumbled as he leaned up on his elbows, his left hand moving to rub his eyes. you hummed softly at his seeming questioning tone as you closed to the window and drew his curtains closed, stopping the streetlights from illuminating the roof through the glass. “what are you doing here? isn’t it like the middle of the night?” jun continued with a gruff voice, his throat probably feeling scratchy from the cold midnight air that had seeped in through the forgotten window while he slept. “it’s about 11:58.” you answered as you rested your knees against the edge of junhui’s mattress, reaching out to run your fingers through his newly dyed hair. he looks up at you with questioning eyes as you paused to take in his bare face.

“i came to wish you a happy birthday, but it seems i’m a little early. i hope that’s okay.” you whispered, letting your fingers lightly trace along his slender face, stopping by every mole and beauty mark that littered the tanned skin on his cheeks. junhui chuckled, his eyes forming tiny half moons as the corners of his mouth rose along with his cheeks. “that tickles.” he giggled, reaching up to wrap his hand around your wrist and sneakily pulling you down into his bed with him. “you’re so cute, you know that?” he smiled as he let you settle in beside him, his hand still encapsulated around your wrist. “i’m adorable, i know.” again he giggled. he let his thumb run gently over the skin on the inside of your wrist, his eyes flickering around your face as if he was in a hurry to take it all in. you let yourself stare back at him, willing yourself not to shyly look away from his unreadable stare. the seconds seemed to tick my extra slow as junhui took his time. the digital alarm clock jun had perched on the windowsill above his bed let out a low mechanical sound, had it not been dead quiet in the room no one would have heard it, but you did and let your eyes flick up to the green numbers shining into the half darkness of his bedroom. ‘12:00’ it read. midnight. when you lowered your gaze to jun again, he was still staring up at the clock, having followed your stare when the clock changed time. “happy birthday, love.” you muttered silently, smiling at the man in front of you with so much sincerity and love that you felt you could bust out in tears any second. “i love you.” you continued as his features softened with your remark, a gentle smile playing along his full lips. “thank you, baby.” he whispered back, moving the hand previously holding your wrist to your cheek to hold you in place as he leaned forward to press a firm kiss against your lips. he moved only an inch back when he pulled away, his breath fanning over your face as he once again considered your face. “i love you too, so much..”
