crazy how just a year ago (back when i was a casual fan of the show and not Deeply Hyperfixated), i explicitly did not care for starco unless it was part of a poly ship—but nowadays, though i still absolutely prefer it as part of a poly ship, i’ve also… grown such an appreciation for it as an individual pairing.

probably the most important aspect of the series is the bond between star and marco, whether platonic or romantic, and a lot of the episodes that are regarded as some of the best of the show (Bon Bon, Face the Music, Starcrushed) have starco as such an important part of its plot. Without a doubt, the way that the show executed starco in the latter couple seasons sucked, but that doesn’t change all the set up they received earlier in the show and the fact that they genuinely have really good chemistry.

even though starco still isn’t my favorite pairing (tomco and starkie 🔛🔝❗️), I absolutely without doubt enjoy it and think they work well together, which is more than I could’ve said at this time last year. but at the same time, i absolutely do understand past me’s gripes about the pairing—the way it was ultimately executed and the “male and female lead must date!!1!” trope are both pretty souring. but ALSO i’ve gained such an appreciation for deconstructing canon and choosing what parts and aspects of the series i do and don’t want to focus on, and being able to re-imagine the less desirable parts has made me enjoy the pairing so much more than when i took canon at face value. fandom is all putting your own spin on the source material—there’s no right or wrong, and whether that’s saying “i think star and marco should be together” or “i think star and marco should stay friends”, both are awesome!!

I love the green one, a perfect dress for a picnic. The pink one was inspired by Vanellope Von Schweetz while the blue one, I believe, was inspired by a bird (of some sort)

The last one took so fucking long. I also decided to leave out the lashes, thought it looked better.
