"Probably for the best, If you ever have any questions about the unit, feel free to ask me...kind of part of my duty to check in on everyone, being the teams main medic after all." Doc offered, normally not one to interact much. "Oh, and I wouldn't mind chatting with you at some point about android repair" He added on, giving Adler a dismissing pat on the shoulder. The dispatcher giving a sigh before going back to his own post, Shortly after, Doc retreated back to his station.
"Getting to know the team a little there, Connor?" The voice of the captain spoke up once 60 had sat back at his desk. Seems his little nap didn't last long at all, he had stirred with Malachi started talking but kept quiet...he had enough trust in his team, that he knew they wouldn't slack off too much. Well...Malachi would have, but he usually got wrangled in easily enough. Otherwise...he would have stepped in to talk to Adler....again.
"When there is this much downtime, I don't mind the team taking a break to just...chat. I find it helps the unit to work better with each other, if they can speak to each other on a personal level. It also lets me see who doesn't work well together, so I can shift the team around accordingly. I do insist they keep personal life and professional separated, however" He explained "Plus, it would be hypocritical of me to chastise them for taking a break...when I'm asleep at my desk, huh?"
Howl's eyes widened just a little, of course the android would want to keep working...honestly reminded him of the captain in a way. Casually he slung his arm over Connor's shoulder, keeping his voice low to avoid waking the captain. "C'mon Connor, don't you want to come hang out with the squad for a bit? Think of it like....a team building exercise" He tried to convince the android, although he's not too sure if that would work on Connor.
Quietly another member of the unit, 'Doc' came up to remove Howl from the android, tossing him a look before turning to Connor. "You'll have to excuse Malachi...he's a bit of a slacker". The dispatcher giving the medic an incredulous look. "I doubt the Captain will be out long enough to do much anyway, other then some idle chit chat."

"I've tried many things through the years to try and avoid the pain flaring up. But, nothing seems to make it go away for good. Part of me has accepted this, as its a nice reminder not to be careless again on the field" He explained. "But, I've learned a few things from the years of physical therapy I had to go to, that has helped a little. Some simple shoulder and arm stretches that can ease it sometimes."
His eyes wondered up to the androids forehead. "It's kind of like how sometimes that chip of yours acts up, if I had to compare it to something. Although...I don't know if there are any exercises you can do, to help with that...or if physical therapy could help androids."
It was one of those nights it would seem. He had given up on trying to sleep, after tossing around for way too long, and headed out in the living room. He looked towards the android for a moment before he took the offer to sit down, his massive dog giving the two a huff in annoyance and being shifted around.
"No, it's nothing that's on my mind, Connor. It's just an old wound acting up, reminding me it's there" He started, shifting just enough to turn towards the android, and moving the tank top he slipped on just enough show Connor his left shoulder. An old scar from a bullet wound hidden just beneath the fabric, it had long since healed from the looks of it.
"It healed a long time ago, but I still get the occasional pain from it. Usually its just an annoyance, but very rarely it acts up in a way that interferes with my daily life" He explained.

"Only two hours?" God it felt way longer then that. He grunted, lifting himself just enough to take the glass and get a drink, before handing it back. True enough, he had to stay hydrated...the best things for beating a sickness like this being rest and fluids. "Thanks Connor".
Frankly he was ready for this to pass, he hated being bed-ridden while the team was without their leader. He wasn't looking forward to the report he was going to have to write up to his Commander either....how he had to dismiss the whole unit because the flu was going around. He looked up at the android's eyes....on the plus side, he could include how the android stepped up to help him out during all this.
"Any word on the rest of the unit?" He could check in himself, but he was sure Fiona would get annoyed with him, if he moved around too much. And...he figured it would be something for the android to do, that wasn't babysitting him.
Whatever flu was rampaging around the station was proving to be tougher then he had originally thought. On the positive side, he had been keeping up with the rest of the unit with periodic checks over the phone...at least, when he was awake and aware enough to keep that information. But, because of his insistence on sending them all home....most of them had only got a minor case of it...so they should all bounce back quickly enough.
But, him on the other hand...
He wasn't a man who got sick often, always keeping an eye on things like this to try and avoid it, and more often then not he does. But, on the off chance he does get sick...it tended to put him out for longer then he'd like. A tired groan escaping him when that cool cloth touched his heated neck, his head shifted to open an eye up at the android. Even that seemed to be a struggle as the light hit him, causing him to squint.
"How long was I out for?" He asked, sickness permeating his tone. He would try to move, to sit up...but his canine had other plans, her large frame keeping him mostly pinned down for the time being.

He paid close enough attention to that LED on the androids head, to know he was definitely uncomfortable here. "You don't like crowds? Well, Can't say I blame you...a crowded bar isn't my idea of a good time either. But, it's what the rest of the unit voted on this week....so, guess we're both stuck".
He stared down at his own drink for a moment, before finishing it and setting the glass down...he wouldn't order himself another one. "Hey, I'm gonna go step outside to get some air, want to come along? it'll get you away from the crowd for a moment" He offered, already standing back up and heading towards the door...making sure to dodge the people who were far too sloshed to be moving around.
Soon as he was outside he leaned his back against the wall, taking in a long and deep breath, exhaling it slowly. The noise much quieter out here.
Connor wouldn't deny feeling protective of the captain. Hell the longer he was with the unit the more protective he was off all his fellow unit officers. They were out for a "team building exercise" which was just an excuse for the whole unit to go out drinking together. And when he saw David getting hit on he said nothing. His LED turned a deep crimson and he glared at the person flirting with him. Eventually he looked away, staring down at the table as he took a drink of thirium. It wasn't any of his business, now was it?
He was never much for going out to drink, hell he seen what it did to Hank...not that he was against having a few drinks sometimes or anything like that. But, the unit had voted on going out for a few drinks, as was typical for a Friday night....just a way for the team to celebrate getting through another week without issue. Personally he would have preferred they all go see a movie, but he's not one to deny his team.
He glanced up when a random woman, obviously a little too intoxicated...came up to talk to him. It was obvious to him that she was flirting with him, even touching his arm. The captain had no interest in a random hook up....especially when she was so sloshed. He glanced around at his team, ignoring the woman who kept going on and on about god knows what. Eventually his eyes landed on the android, who looked down, but he noticed the color of his LED. He gently turned the drunk woman down, and excused himself, opting for checking in on Connor.
"Not a fan of the bar scene, Connor?" He asked.

60 is currently hiding in a quiet dark bedroom, face buried in a pillow. The only light is coming from his red LED. His chip malfunction decided it was a day to cause him physical pain and make him overly sensitive to lights and sounds.
Odd, he hadn't seen the android most of the day. Sure they both happened to be off today, and Connor can spend it as he pleased...but he had gotten used to the 800 sitting out in the living room with him, usually as both of them read or checked the news. He gave a gentle knock on his door before opening it. First thing he noticed was how dark it was in here, the second was that red LED...usually indicating something was wrong.
"Connor? Something bothering you today?" He asked in his usual tone, unaware of what was going on.

He was slowly coming to, his vision blurry and his head fuzzy. David couldn't quite remember what happened...he vaguely remembered they were called in for a bomb threat...but after that, his memories are patchy at best. He barely heard a voice calling his name, shifting his head just enough to look towards the voice. Glazed over eyes opened just enough to look at the android, his vision still out of focus.
"...Connor..?" His tone was rather weak and tired compared to his usual one. He blinked a few times, trying to clear up his vision...but gave up and just closed his eyes again. "...w-what happened?" He asked, finally registering the 800's hand and giving it a weak squeeze. It definitely wasn't the first time he ended up in the hospital...flashbacks to when he got shot in the shoulder come to mind...but he was glad the android had taken it upon himself to stick by his side, as he slowly came back to reality.
"Is the team okay?" He had to ask, hopefully no one else was hurt...or worse. "...are you okay?" He added on.

60 couldn't keep away from David for long without his stress level nearly maxing itself out more than once. He'd been the one to sit with the human as they waited for the ambulance, rode beside him on the way to the hospital, and had nervously paced the waiting room when the captain was getting emergency surgery and treatment.
The android had been terrified of losing Allen. Not simply because he was the human that vouched for him or the one that let him stay in his home. But because he came to care so deeply about Allen that losing him was the scariest thing in the world. Allen was his world. And if he was gone, that world would shatter. He would shatter.
Eventually he was allowed to see David in a recovery room. He let the rest of the team know that he'd made it through surgery alright before he entered. His face was a mask of concern as he moved to sit at David's bedside. 60 took his hand in his, holding it gently.
"David..." He said softly, not actually addressing the human.

He had been asleep, when Fiona wondered into his bedroom and started nudging his side with her nose, even pulling the comforter off of his prone form before he roused enough to get up and see what was wrong. She took off towards the living room, looking back once to make sure the human was following her.
He stepped out and immediately noticed the android writhing around. Was he having a malfunction? The Captain got close enough to put his hands on the androids shoulder, giving him a few gentle shakes. "Connor?" He called out. It almost seemed like the 800 was having a nightmare? Did androids have nightmares?
When Connor finally opened his eyes, he couldn't help but notice the tears, a confused look spreading across the human's features. "Are you alright?"

60 was asleep on the couch with Fiona laying on him like a big living blanket. Her face was buried against his neck when she felt him start to twitch. The LED on his head turned red as she whined at him. The wolfhound got up to go find David.
The android started to writhe without the weight of the giant hound to keep him still. There were flashes of memories his brain was blocking him from seeing. But he was still remembering bits and pieces. Ones that scared him. He thought he felt the hands of other androids grabbing him, but he's jolted awake, staring up at David.
The LED slowly shifts from red to yellow. Connor blinks, reaching up to feel the tears he hadn't realized were falling down his face.

[ guide ] your muse putting a hand on mine’s back to lead them .
For Karl?
The hand on the other man's back was gentle, but still was forceful enough to get his point across. "Sir, I'm going to need you to clear the area, and let my team set up" His tone was calm but commanding, as he lead him to a safer area. The team had gotten a call about a possible threat in the area, and a sweep needed to be conducted. And, Captain Allen's priority was to ensure there was no civilians in the way of his team.

He'd never admit he had a soft spot for his team, but it was probably obvious to those on the team, who have worked with him long enough, to get an idea of what goes on in his head. He flashed a little smirk at the android, glad he accepted the offer...it meant he could be even more detailed with is daily reports to the Commander...and he liked being thorough.
"There is always a choice Connor" He commented, true enough the android could chose to stay here at the office during the night, or he could go back to the junkyard, or even just wonder the streets at night. But, he was relieved he chose to take up his offer. Even if he didn't fully trust the android, he'd rather know that he had a safe place to stay during off hours. He IS part of the team now after all.
"Then it's settled, you will ride home with me after the day is over. I'll just need to move a few things from the guest room, but otherwise its already set up" He kept a few of his weights in there, but they could easily be moved to his garage with the rest of his at home gym equipment. He was mostly concerned about Fiona, his Irish Wolfhound...she doesn't typically do well around strangers....and he has no idea how the android will react around a rather large canine like her.
Honestly he was a little surprised at himself for even offering. "Yes, I'm sure. I'd extend the offer to anyone in the unit, It's my duty to ensure my team is at their peak at any given time, and that includes offering lodging at my home for as long as they need it. And...in this way, I can also keep an eye on you personally. I can observe if there is any issues or malfunctions, that would affect your ability to do your duty here" He was willing to risk his safety, if it meant he could ease the higher-ups worries about the android.
"I have a guest room you can stay in. I must warn you...I do have a dog." He heard around the station that Deviants had a thing for animals...but he hadn't quite pinned down, if this Connor was a deviant or not.

"Smart move, you never know when you might need something like that on the field. It's why I carry my knife with me" He commented. The Swat leader had to wonder if calibrating was something just the 800's did...he had never seen any other android do anything similar. He also vaguely remembers seeing the 800 that works with Anderson, playing with a coin a few times...was that for the same reason?
And yet....this one used a knife to calibrate? How...individualist of him....interesting. "Can I ask something? Do all androids have to calibrate like that, or is it just something the RK's do?"
He wouldn't say he was a master of knives, but he was familiar enough with his own combat knife. Course...this was a bit different. He opened it, taking a moment to examine the blade. Gently testing it on his thumb...careful not to cut himself of course. Sure enough, it was a rather sharp blade, and the android was just casually playing with it huh?
He glanced at the android watching him for a few seconds, before he took to flicking it around himself...obviously he wasn't as fast as the android had been with it, but still impressive enough for a human. After a minute or so, he snapped the knife closed before handing it back. "It has a nice weight to it, easily opens and closes, and the blade itself is nice and sharp. Would be useful on the field as well" He commented, unsure if he kept it around just to play with, or actually used it.

Part of him knew the Commander would allow his request...he had proven himself time and time again to keep a level head and make the correct choices when it came to the SWAT unit. But...she was still rather intimidating, even he tensed up in her presence.
"Of course, Commander. I plan to personally assess the android, and keep track of every little thing he does and is assigned to. You can expect a detailed day to day report from me." He paused, sure he trusted his team, but he felt he couldn't expect them to keep an eye on the 800. "I will be personally be with the android myself, so as to best keep an eye on him. A task this important, I cannot justify having anyone else look after him. You can count on me, Ma'am"
He had met with the Commander, while the android was off getting repaired and cleaned up. He stood before the rather intimidating woman, his arms folded behind his back as he stood at attention.
"I am absolutely serious" He began. "I had a chance to work with a previous RK800- Connor prototype, back on a hostage mission...I'm sure you remember that. I got to see in person, that particular android's negotiation skills. I believe, we could benefit from that skill set...and, we are lacking a negotiator in the unit as of right now." He finished his explanation, allowing his arms to sit at his sides.
"And....with all due respect, Ma'am....I seem to remember, a young rookie who was new to the swat team...a rookie, who you had given a chance to" He crossed his arms over his chest before he continued. "And, that rookie...would like to pass it on, and give the android a chance to prove himself"
