evie never had any real childhood. she doesn’t remember her parents nor where she came from. the only story she is getting told is that the ice nation had found her in the woods close to troy, abandoned and all alone  —  and they gave her the name evie.

she stayed with a little family in troy till she grew of age. the man in the house, atreus, took care of her the most as the female, emrys, didn’t see evie as their own child.  atreus, however, was a very practical man that worked for the queen as a spy. often, evie was left alone when he went on a scouting mission, infiltrated other camps only to come back with a new battle wound.

he was cold, ruthless and bloodthirsty. he loved the fight and you could see it every time he came back home with a triumphant grin all over his face.

and he was all that evie had.

when she turned twelve, she begged him, multiple times, to teach him his ways. the blonde wanted to be like him, more than anything. she dreaded the day she’d lose him one day, but at least wanted his skills and strength to continue his legacy.

after multiple arguments, especially with emrys, he finally agreed to it and over the years, taught evie everything she needed to know to become a master assassin and an excellent spy. very quickly, she was allowed to follow along on his missions, learned how to pretend to be someone else to gather information, only to coldheartedly kill them afterwards. evie had her first kill with only fourteen.

the woman always stayed loyal to the man she started to dare to call father, and the queen of the ice nation. she pridefully fought their battles and did everything as she was asked to without hesitation. that was, until the queen had sent evie’s father on a mission where he didn’t return from when evie was only 19.

to this day, the letter that informed her that atreus had died in battle is still stuck in her pocket. it was a reminder to her to take revenge one day, since she fully blamed the queen for it. it had been a mission that wasn’t necessary, that was promised to be safe and nothing dangerous. 

for fourteen years, evie never forgot what the queen did to her. taking the only person away she truly ever cared about and looked up to. the one who took her in. evie knows she can’t take revenge directly, but she’s excellent at being a spy, after all. she is starting to consider to work for the opposite team, but so far she manages to keep up her mask perfectly, doing the queen’s bidding as she is told.

personality wise, after her father’s dead, evie barely shows the little child that is still hiding in her. she’s blunt and cold, a smile is rarely seen on her lips. only when she is fighting. though she does have a sassy side and is always up for a challenge, with weapons or not.

while arianne zhao’s talent was taking care of people as a doctor, her daughter’s talent was with technology. these two could have not been any more different. arianne always took care of everyone and tended to their wounds, while eden preferred to be alone and just work on her own little projects.

eden was incredibly intelligent, which was shown off in their grades at the school. she nearly surpassed everyone and it was only a matter of time before she had the chance to have her first “space walk” and work on the cronos station from the outside, floating in the sky, fixing as much as she could to keep everyone alive and safe.

you’d think she had a lovely childhood : but that was until one day, eden, only just turned 18, found out that their mother had committed a crime and had another child. until to this day, eden never found out the name, only that it had been a younger brother. with the strict rules on the cronos station, there wasn’t much arguing necessary: eden’s mother got floated right away, and the day their brother turned 21, he had followed her after having spent his time in juvenile prison.

while the mechanic wept for her mother, she couldn’t ignore the betrayal in her heart. after this, eden started to distance themselves only more from everyone, starting to grow a sassy and nearly spiteful attitude. though deep down, she cared deeply, just like her mother once did. eden just didn’t like to show that side.

three months ago, when the cronos station was sent to earth, eden had been one of the people to fix everything as much as possible after they had crashed, since she was one of the best mechanics on the sky station, nearly able to work with any kind of technology they had on there. and soon, she was one of the first to work on the animalistic machines, realizing that the people could control them for their own good.

currently they are still trying to fix as much as possible on the station, though they have gotten the offer to move to the capitol, especially because of their skill to work on the machines. however, eden is unsure about that. while she feels neutral towards the grounders, she still does not trust them completely. and a part of her is still connected to the cronos station. even though her mother had left her, the cronos station was the last part of her home.

eden’s spitfire kind of personality is not helping her with her feelings towards them, as she doesn’t hold back her mistrust and tends to speak before she thinks.
