my favorite trope on criminal minds is when hotch and morgan are like “this is useless. the unsub wont listen to us. this is getting nowhere.” and reid is like “aha! this is because you are both alpha males. i am a weak little shrimp boy and therefore i can talk to him.” and then he does

Derek: hey, Spencer. Why does Wells Fargo say we spent $246 at Spirit Halloween last week
Spencer, wearing pumpkin earrings, black cat socks, and realistic vampire fangs: oh.....I don’t know. Maybe we should call the police

from a ep standpoint the Spencer’s “what if Maeve doesn’t like me when she sees me :(“ scene is sad. But as a viewer I can’t help but laugh cus of how obvious the writers were grasping at *insecurities* Reid would have over his appearance like what else was there to REALLY say besides “I’m 6ft tall which girls trip over??? My nose is too cute & my face is stupidly symmetrical??? My jawline could cut a diamond??” like
Hbshsjsjsj you’re so right. 👉👈 my tiny baby nose and big brown eyes and wavy hair is so yucky 🥺 nobody will love me with this jawline and these spindly lil hands.

I don’t think it was right of Spencer to pull the addiction card while fighting with JJ At Work but I agree that it was really scummy that Hotch and JJ didn’t tell the others. Like ???? Was the rest of the team going to snitch to Doyle?? What the hell
#why was it even a secret tbh#n Rossi saying he knew anyway really pissed me off it was so unnecessary#it just undermined Spencer’s being upset plotlibe by making it look obvious

i think they were both manipulative in that scene though. like spencer with the "what if i'd relapsed? hmmm? it would've been your fault" thing was super unnecessary
Manipulative means intentionally messing with someone to get what you want out of them. Spencer was not trying to get anything out of JJ and she was not trying to get anything out of him. They were both angry and upset and being obnoxious
Spencer was angry about the fact that he was close to a heroin relapse because of grief over a death that was completely fabricated. That’s a valid feeling, honestly. Maybe he shouldn’t have brought it up, but I will point out that he didn’t say “it would have been your fault,” and he was being honest. It would have been better if he’d kept that to himself, yeah, but I don’t think he made that up to get something out of her, I think he was just very upset and running his mouth without thinking
Same with JJ. She was in a much less painful situation than Spencer was, since she knew Emily was alive and coming back, but she was upset nonetheless that her close friend was saying such horrible things to her, and she was also running her mouth without thinking, because he said something that hurt her feelings. We’ve all said things we didn’t mean during arguments. I don’t think she was trying to control him or gaslighting, I think she was just jabbing back at the hurt she felt
You’ll notice that Derek did not engage in any of this nonsense

You know what I miss? When every ep of Criminal Minds had the following exchange:
Hotch: Excuse me person. We’re with the FBI and we’re looking for a serial killer we believe may be attached to your business/institution/whatever.
Random: How dare you! A serial killer would never be associated with our business/institution/whatever!
Hotch: You don’ understand. The person we’re looking for loves killing people.
Random: Oh god it’s Kyle

Stop including Derek in your “Spencer’s abandonment issues” compilations 😒 Derek did not abandon him, he just quit a job that was literally putting his family at risk.....they included an entire scene where Spencer was crying and freaking out because he thought Derek was abandoning him and Derek clarified that he was NOT..... “I’m always just a phone call away and I’m naming my baby after you”..........and then he visited him in prison/when he left prison........y’all are insane and don’t know Derek’s character at all if you think he’d just cut everyone off as soon as he quit the job. Smh!

Can y’all stop dragging Elle Greenaway? The woman was traumatized and she was SCARED. She killed that man for a reason yet so many people drag her for it. I know damn well if Reid, Hotch, Morgan, or practically ANYONE else did it, you’d all be like “ poor bby they’re so traumatized 🥺”. Now I’m not saying that all of you have to like her, I’m just saying that she doesn’t deserve all the hate she gets.
