Sure since adopting self checkout they got rid of 99% of grocery workers and if something goes wrong you gotta just stand there for 20 minutes while the employee managing 30% of the store singlehandedly tries to juggle helping you with their other responsibilities. But at least groceries are less expensive now right. Why are you trying to whisper in my ear I have a girlfriend
#please all of you come to my local Aldi which refuses to get self checkouts because it’s on a bus line#(all the other Aldi stores have one it’s just this one. I mentioned to a cashier once how they’re the only one without)#(and she CACKLED like oh my god no they’ll never give us one)#anyways#there is always only one checkout line open at a time because they have like three total workers at a time#and 1-2 are always doing bullshit online orders#and the line is always backed up winding through the aisles#so like#bro the self checkout isn’t the problem it’s employers not staffing enough workers#the lack of self checkout and infamously long lines discourages people from shopping there#but all that aside: never had the expired food thing there and I go there weekly
