Cyfle cyffrous i fyfyrwyr yn Abertawe!
Ddydd Mercher 16 Ionawr, bydd myfyrwyr Ysgol Gyfun Penyrheol, Gorseinon yn mwynhau diwrnod gwych o weithgareddau menter, busnes a phynciau STEM wrth iddynt weithio gyda'i gilydd ar fenter Enterprise Soapbox.
Mae’r gweithgaredd hwn yn deillio wedi’i ddau gyn-ddisgybl ennill gwobrau wrth ddilyn rhaglen adnoddau arloesol Llwyddo*, adnodd sy’n cynnig cymwysterau datblygiad personol a chymdeithasol.
Gwobrwywyd Sandy Saunders fel Myfyriwr Rhagorol Llwyddo*. Ac enillodd Lee Rayner Wobr Cyflawniad Rhagoriaeth.
"Rydym wrth ein bodd yn gweld yr effaith y mae'r Rhaglen Llwyddo* yn ei gael ar ddysgwyr o bob gallu o bob cwr o Gymru, fel y gwelir yn yr enillwyr buddugol Sandy a Lee. Rydym yn falch o allu darparu cyfle addysgol mor gyffrous i'r myfyrwyr yn Ysgol Gyfun Penyrheol, er mwyn gallu gweithredu'r sgiliau y maent wedi'u dysgu. "
Gwawr Booth, Rheolwr Gyfarwyddwr, Portal Training
Mae Enterprise Soapbox yn weithdy addysgol trawsgwricwlaidd ar gyfer mentergarwch, busnes neu bynciau STEM lle mae myfyrwyr yn gweithio gyda'i gilydd i ddychmygu, cynllunio, dylunio, cynhyrchu, pecynnu, hyrwyddo a hyd yn oed gychwyn eu cynnyrch sebon go iawn!
Bydd myfyrwyr yn cael y cyfle i weithio fel tîm gyda rolau a nodau busnes realistig. Mae gweithdai Enterprise Soapbox yn gysyniad rhagorol gan fod angen defnyddio creadigrwydd, ymarferoldeb, sgiliau dylunio, cyllid ac arweinyddiaeth i gyd o dan bwysau amser i gyrraedd y nod y fenter. Bydd y sesiwn yn ymarfer y sgiliau ymarferol gwych mae'r myfyrwyr wedi'u dysgu fel rhan o'r rhaglen Llwyddo* BTEC Lefel 1/2 y buont yn ei ddilyn.

Swansea students to clean up with exciting soapbox initiative!
The activity has been made possible due to two former pupils’ award-winning achievements in following the innovative Sweet* Personal and Social Development (PSD) Programme of resources.
Sandy Saunders and Lee Rayner were awarded Most Outstanding Sweet* Student and an Achievement of Excellence, respectively.
“We are delighted to see the impact the Sweet* Programme is having on learners of all abilities from across Wales, as evidenced in the winning entries from both Sandy and Lee. We are pleased to be able to provide such an exciting educational opportunity to the students at Penyrheol Comprehensive School, to be able to put into practice the skills they’ve learnt.”
Gwawr Booth, Managing Director, Portal Training
Enterprise Soapbox is a cross-curricular educational workshop for enterprise, business or STEM where students work together to imagine, plan, design, manufacture, package, promote and even pitch their own real soap product.
Students will have the opportunity to work with realistic business roles and aims, with the team becoming a business for the session and will need to work closely to produce their best results. As a business simulation, Enterprise Soapbox works so well because creativity, practicality, design, finance and leadership skills are all needed under time pressures. The session will put into practice the fantastic practical skills the students have learnt as part of the Sweet* BTEC Level 1 / 2 programme they’ve been following.

The Sweet* Teach Meet held at our headquarters in Cardiff was a great morning, and fantastic opportunity for our centres to network. A big thank you to Fran Shopland from St Martin's School and Greg Beasley from Abertillery Learning Community for their contributions to the session. Our next Teach Meet will be held in Spring 2019 for centres located in West Wales, with further details to follow. In the meantime, contact Lindsay to find out more.
