La Depresión NO Es Hermosa

"Hoy me lavé el cabello. Por primera vez en 4 semanas. Estaba tan enredado que se rompía cada que pasaba mis manos. Lloré mientras lo lavaba y lo acondicionaba, porque olvidé cómo se sentía pasar mis dedos a través de él. Me lavé los dientes, también, por primera vez en una semana. Me sangraron las encías. El agua se puso roja. También lloré por eso. Cuando salí de la ducha, no podía dejar de olerme el cabello y los brazos. He evitado abrazar a la gente por un tiempo, porque nunca huelo bien. Siempre huelo como si hubiera estado en cama durante una semana. No tengo ropa limpia, porque estoy demasiado cansada y triste para lavar.

La depresión no es hermosa. La depresión es mala higiene, platos sucios, y un cuerpo adolorido de dormir demasiado. La depresión es tener solo 3 amigos que están cerca porque tienen la paciencia y el amor de un santo. La depresión te hace llorar hasta que no hay más lágrimas, te deja seca y sollozando hasta que estás jadeando por tu próximo aliento. Tener depresión es estar mirando el techo hasta que tus ojos se queman porque te olvidas de parpadear. La depresión hace llorar a tu familia porque piensan que ya no los amas cuando estás distante y distraída. La depresión no solo es emocional, es un vacío que puedes sentir físicamente.

Lo estamos intentando. Te juro que lo estamos intentando.
