Because I can’t stop thinking about it, some more Earthspark Swerve thoughts:

Imagine Megatron going with everyone to the hangout and being THRILLED to see Swerve. He thought the minibot was dead or worse, and seeing him doing well is great.

Bee having not really known Swerve well in the past but they’re friendly enough and he’s glad to have someone to chat with causally again and have a safe place to beat the shit outa people on fight nights.

The fight nights were a joint venture between Ratchet and Swerve. Ratchet realized that after so many years of war bots were still gonna fight, inside or outside illegal fighting rings. The fighting rings are just a way humans exploit that desire along with other desperation. So designating a night every week where they set up a ring and let bots beat the shit out of each other, with some medics there to scrape them off the ground and the only rules being no killing and don’t destroy the bar, gives everyone a safe place to do that. And ends up causing the illegal fighting rings in a good radius to decline by a LOT.

I think he should have some meta awareness just cause that DELIGHTS me reading MTMTE (now that hes doing ok of course). I’m not sure how it’s manifest in Earthspark but I think all the kids (maybe Dorothy and Alex too) would reasonably find that weird. Meanwhile all the older bots are just like “Oh that’s just how he is haha! Some sort of run-in with an old acquaintance’s inventions. No, not Wheeljack.”

I would like to hear about EarthSpark Swerve please!!

Ok so. Fair warning this is going to be a bit long and need some context to hopefully drive home how funny this is for me.

A few months ago when first watching Earthspark I kept thinking about how surely there's gotta be MORE transformers out there somewhere than what we see. I mean, there's the bot fights and also way more to the world than just Pennsylvania. Hell, there's way more to just the United States than PA.

So I started imagining some transformers and humans (Sumdac Systems, anyone?) working together to help 'bots and 'cons hide and also get help they need, eventually giving them a place to hang out as well (maybe their own fights one night a week but no stakes aside from bragging rights). And part of that included an underground bar. An underground bar that I had NO idea who to have run.

And then, just a few weeks ago, I started reading MTMTE and met Swerve.

Not only would he be perfect to have as the bartender at this hangout, but I think him and his issues would be really interesting to have in the Earthspark universe. Especially with the kids. Like, consider a scenario like this:

Him still having crippling self-worth issues. There's always someone cooler. More interesting. And even when the Terrans show up he's just the bartender, a footnote, why would anyone think he's cool or fun when there's other famous bots there?

Thrash I think would be most likely to develop self-esteem issues of his own. I mean, his twin sorta takes the leader position. His human siblings are basically a Prime's Chosen Ones. He can't control things via wifi or make cool inventions or turn into a dinosaur or fly. I can see him feeling like there's nothing he can do that the rest of his family can't already do or do better than him.

Thrash finding something or other (map, urban legend, something else idk) and desperately wanting to go investigate it. Everyone's saying it's dangerous and won't let him go alone, but also won't go with him so he can.

Swerve seeing this and sees an opportunity to be seen as cool and offers to go with him. So they go on their way.

Of course something goes very wrong and they end up trapped somewhere, maybe Swerve is injured or pinned after protecting Thrash from something (he's not just gonna let something happen to a kid), and they're more or less stuck waiting and hoping someone notices they're missing.

Because they are stuck in a cave or something with no signal they have no idea that everyone is freaking out because of them being gone. It's a hot mess and a half. The Maltos need their Thrash back and if the hangout 'bots and 'cons don't get their Swerve back someone's gonna end up hurt. Or worse. The load bearing little guy is gone and nobody is doing well.

And they just sorta find out that even if they don't see their worth in the group, it doesn't mean that everyone else doesn't. But even if they didn't contribute anything they'd still be loved.

Also I think Earthspark Swerve would still be a minibot so I don't know exactly how tall he would be but maaaaaybe Jawbreaker height? If not a bit bigger? Idk. He's small. Just so the other Maltos can ask what his deal is and also find out how everyone likes him.

Swerve with an anxious attachment style can be sooo important to a man. I think he’d have a very big “if I’m useful they won’t leave!” mentality, and he’d be super sensitive to (what he perceives as) rejection .. like if someone looks bored while he’s talking it outright ruins his day
