Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen. And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore. Surprise 🤗Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into. I wrote and recorded this music in isolation but got to collaborate with some musical heroes of mine; Aaron Dessner (who has co-written or produced 11 of the 16 songs), Bon Iver (who co-wrote and was kind enough to sing on one with me), William Bowery (who co-wrote two with me) and Jack Antonoff (who is basically musical family at this point). Engineered by Laura Sisk and Jon Low, mixed by Serban Ghenea & Jon Low. The album photos were shot by the amazing Beth Garrabrant. Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed. My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world. That’s the side of uncertainty I can get on board with. Love you guys so much ♥️

I hope you remember me from the Siriusxm town hall event - I mean, its quite hard not to, since I was the only one sobbing like a baby 😇 I’m writing this because there was so much I wish I could’ve said to you, but due to lack of time and me being a mess, I was not able to. I saw you for the first time ever on GMA’s summer concert (its hard being a brazilian swiftie lol) and it was amazing. Being a fan for over 10 years, it was my dream to see you play live, and you were perfect that day! ❤️ And then at the siriusxm event, the moment you entered the room I started crying because you were so close to me, I just couldn’t believe it was actually happening. I’ll never forget how you looked at me when singing “Who could stay? You could stay”. So of course when the time came I couldn’t utter a word to you and I’m so so sorry. I wish I could’ve said how you saved me in more than one way. How you are my role model and inspiration for life. How you helped me deal with depression/anxiety and body issues. I wish I could’ve thank you for all this things! I love you so much. 💘 I delivered a small purple notebook and a bracelet to your team (pictured bellow). In the notebook I collected over 13 love letters to you from friends you helped me make - most of them are Brazilian swifties who love you as much as I do and would be so so happy if you could see it. I also wrote a bit more of my story there, so if you have the time, please read it. Again, I love you and I’m so sorry for being a crying mess 💟
