coming back to this to say the album has grown on me a lot over the past week and i now think several of the songs are great (i thought many of them were good but now i think they are great 👍) so while i'm still not sure if it's very high up in my marina album ranking overall there is a reason she's one of my favourite artists and even one of her less amazing albums is still a damn great album!!!
new marina album is good but not one of my faves from her... honestly shocked how many people i've seen say it's "so much better" than adiaml because i loved that album and it's in my top three of her discography and while this new one is enjoyable it's not really up to the same standard for me? still really like it and will get a lot of fun out of it but yeah none of the songs are top tier marina to me
#my top 3 at the moment is metallic stallion / digital fantasy / final boss btw#also i keep seeing people saying this album has tfj vibes... well kinda but actually adiaml had more tfj vibes#but people didn't like that one for some reason </3

and what if i said the feminist aspects of sabrina carpenter's music and image have always been quite shallow... and then what if i said there's not really anything wrong with that
#anyway i think the new album cover is pretty poorly executed more in the sense of just not being a very interesting or well-composed photo#i also don't know if it was really necessary for her to release a new album yet since short n sweet still has legs#and so far idk if this new one is really offering anything new. but i will still be tuning in!
