my tears ricochet is about Sc*tt B*rchetta
OK SO OBVIOUSLY I’M FREAKING OUT ABOUT folklore LIKE WHAT A MASTERPIECE
This morning, I watched the lyric video to my tears ricochet and literally ONE PERSON posted that it was about Sc*tt B*rchetta and I was like ‘THIS IS SO OBVIOUS’ so here is my theory! Feel free to add some more, I would LOVE to discuss this with you fellow Swifties!
And if I’m on fire, you’ll be made of ashes, too Could be referencing the fact that both were depending on each other for so long. We all know that Big Mach*ne’s success relies on Taylor, but Taylor also had the support of Big Mach*ne for the first 6 albums of her career.
Even on my worst day, did I deserve, babe, all the hell you gave me? We know for a fact that Taylor’s last years at Big Mach*ne were complicated because she tried to buy her masters back, but Sc*tt did not want to. Remember when Taylor said that Sc*tt did not like the idea of making a pop album when she created 1989, and that she had to fight to put out the project. And that’s only what we know, we don’t know what happened behind closed doors.
I didn’t have it in myself to go with grace I just remember Sc*tt making a comment when he sold her masters, that she was not handling the issue in a professional manner.
You’re the hero flying around, saving face When her masters were sold and Taylor was angry (with good reason), Sc*tt tried to position himself as a businessman who was just acting rightly for the sake of his hard work. In Big Mach*ne’s statement, he said that Taylor was lying about many points in the situation.
And if I’m dead to you, why are you at the wake? Cursing my name, wishing I stayed, look at how my tears ricochet THAT is one of the line that gives it all for me. We all know that it was Taylor’s decision to leave Big Mach*ne - it was not good news for them because she was the label’s most important artist in terms of money. I think that Sc*tt was mad and tried to sabotage her to get back at her for leaving. As Taylor said, they had almost a father-daughter relationship, so for him to lose this as well must have been hurting for Sc*tt.
You know I didn’t want to have to haunt you I think she’s referencing at the special bond she had with Sc*tt. He believed in her before her career even began. It’s clear that they had a close relationship during many years of them working together. I believe that if he wouldn’t have sold her masters, she would have not made waves about the downfall of her relationship with Big Mach*ne.
You wear the same jewels that I gave you as you bury me THAT ALSO IS VERY IMPORTANT. Sc*tt’s reputation relies on Big Mach*ne’s credibility. The label earned its credibility thanks to Taylor’s work. When Sc*tt sold her masters, he sold a part of her soul, her body of work to an enemy of hers (that he knew of). He clearly was out to hurt her with this move. The money that was given to him was due to the value of Taylor’s body of work, so we could consider that she gave these jewels to him.
And I can go anywhere I want, anywhere I want, just not home I think she was talking about when she left Big Mach*ne, she had the opportunity to go anywhere, to any label. An artist as huge as Taylor would be welcomed in any music label. I figured that home was Big Mach*ne as she helped build the label since she was 14, and that it was just like home to her.
And you can aim for my heart, go for blood, but you would still miss me in your bones Again, another reference at the special bond they have. He took on her career since she was 14 until she was 29. She grew up with him and he certainly grew with her. As savage as his move was when he sold her masters, I believe that he still cares for Taylor.
And when you can’t sleep at night, you hear my stolen lullabies JAW-DROPPING LINE RIGHT HERE. Stolen lullabies references all of the songs that were sold to Sc**ter. Usually, when you can’t sleep at night, it’s because something torments you, haunts you. Her stolen lullabies haunts Sc*tt because he KNOWS that it’s his fault that she does not possess them anymore, and he knows that is what created an irremediable cut between him and Taylor.
And so the battleships will sink beneath the waves She knows that nobody is going to win this battle for her masters. On one part, Sc**ter and the other investors will lose money because she will re-record her albums 1-5 in November 2020. On the other part, recording all of her previous albums will be costly in time and money for Taylor. This situation is a lose-lose for everybody.
You had to kill me, but it killed you just the same Sc*tt had to keep Taylor’s masters so Big Mach*ne could still have value to the eyes of a buyer. By doing this, he ‘’killed’’ her, but her speaking out about it showed what kind of businessman he is. I would be very surprised if an artist would work with him after what he did to Taylor, his most important artist (and with whom he had a special connection).
You turned into your worst fears When Sc*tt created Big Mach*ne, I believe that he was trying to go on another route than the big label route. He was working with a major company before, left them and risked it all to start his own business. I don’t know him, but at the time, maybe he was trying to position himself as ‘’one of the cool guys’’, a manager that would not be the typical stereotype that you have of a manager.
And you’re tossing out blame, drunk on this pain When Taylor spoke up about her masters, remember that bullsh*t statement of Big Mach*ne, that Taylor was lying and that they did not do anything wrong. That they offered her to purchase her masters - though they did not say that their offer was toxic for her, but hey, PR.
Crossing out the good years THAT LINE TOO. By doing this to Taylor, it was like he had forgotten where they both came from, and how they helped each other. I believe (with no proof but with a feeling still) that their last years of working together were complicated, and that they had tensions about what she should / should not do. Mentioning the good years feels to me as if there were some bad.
VOILÀ, that was my theory about my tears ricochet. It’s such a powerful song and I know that it translates also as a song about domestic ab*se, but I really think that she spoke up about the Sc*tt situation. I can only imagine the feeling when the most precious thing you have is taken away from you by a person you care deeply about.
So, what do you think?!

In this performance of THE MAN, she sings with a guitar only. No big show of lights, no extravagant costume. To show that even though she can pull off big shows as she often does, she can also just sing with her guitar and be  impressive at it.
She can play the minimalist game too, just like men often do, letting her important words and her amaaaazing (as always) voice take the front stage.
When she puts on magnificent and shiny costumes, when she dances while singing with her full band, when her stage decor is complex and elaborate, it’s NOT because she HAS to do this in order to be good. It’s because SHE. WANTS. TO.

Taylor’s acoustic performance of THE MAN is sooooo important!!!
I remember the first time I realized that women were held to such high expectations comparing to men. For a show, we were divided in two groups of singer-songwriters - men and women. (I don’t know who thought it was a good idea in 2017, but well).
The women worked their butt off, creating complex vocal arrangements, a cello part and drum part for the songs... While the men were basically jamming their songs as if they were around a fire - they were only singing with a guitar, a very minimal cajon and a few off-key harmonies.
After the show, a woman in her 50′s came up to me to compliment me on my work, then said : ‘’This year, girls are as good as the guys!’’
So... That’s when I came to realize. In order to be considered equally as good as men, we had to do much more work.

Food and ME!
I related so hard when Taylor said she needs to take pleasure in eating.
For two years, I ate few and I didn’t eat for pleasure at all. It was only to help me get to the other meal, then I ate something boring and tasteless again that would just stop my hunger. I lost maybe 15 to 20 pounds at the time. I was the skinniest I’ve ever been. Having been bullied for being fat when I was young, I was feeling proud that I was thin (even skinny) for the first time in my life. I was in an unhappy relationship with a guy who was boring and negative. I was ashamed of being with him and felt like he was holding me back. Still, I could wear XS and S and that made me proud.
About two years ago, I got in a healthy relationship with my current boyfriend, who is just the best. He makes the best food and makes me discover so many meals. I gained 15 pounds since I’m with him, and I still beat myself down for it sometimes. I don’t eat more, but now, when I eat, it is so much fun to just enjoy the flavors, especially when we share meals with our family. Those are the most precious moments for me.
Thank you Taylor for speaking about body positivity. I needed it tonight.

I used to listen to Taylor when I was a teenager, and sing her songs in front of my bedroom mirror, dreaming of performing in long dresses, just like her. At 15, I wrote songs up until 2AM, I wore cowboy boots in high school and curled my straight-as-paper hair just because she did and I wanted to be just like her.
Ten years later, I write songs for a living and I couldn’t be more proud to have the same role model as when I was 15, because she’s straight up badass, stands up for what she believes in and she’s a talented singer-songwriter who works endlessly to write magnificent songs such as what we heard tonight. I’m still as amazed and emotional when I listen to her.
SO SO SO proud of you, @taylorswift!!! Being the Artist of the Decade at 29, after 13 years in music - this is just BADASS and so so so deserved!!!!

As a songwriter myself, Taylor has been an inspiration for me since her debut album. I’ve grown up daydreaming to her songs, and found myself still doing so even if I learned continuously about some of the horrendous ways of the music industry.
As appalled and disgusted as I am of what I have read today, I am proud that Taylor SPOKE UP. It is incredibly tough to do so when you are an artist because this business is not just about talent, it’s about contacts, it’s about money. While some might say that Taylor has the power, the money and the platform to call out an awful situation such as hers, the people concerned have power as well in this industry (by the contractual links between them and the artists they manage, or even just by their bank account) and what she did was more than brave.
Every day, there are PLENTY of artists - famous, emerging and even totally unknown) that have to go through conflicts of this kind, and few of them speak out about these. Again, Taylor stands as a strong and fierce voice for songwriters and creators.
I hope to see many more people from the music industry dissociating themselves from Scooter and Scott. This situation is a GIGANTIC red flag for ANY ARTIST that might consider working with them.
Taylor, I feel so frustrated and betrayed by what these men did to such a strong and powerful artist as you. Little do they know that money cannot buy your platform, your incredibly relevant voice and the wonderful community you have built and continue to build with your empowering music.
(AND I’LL BUY LOVER 26 TIMES IF I HAVE TO!!!!!)

A NEW TS7 THEORY - Calm + Dramatic
YO GUYS.
I’m fairly new to all of this - I’ve been keeping tracks of the theories with my personal account but I needed to tell you about my latest find so I made a Tumblr account. (YES I DID.)
SO, Taylor has said in an interview this week that she wanted to drop a few hints in the dialogue of the argument in the ME! music video. As a fluent French speaker, I went back on the video, and I found interesting that what we can hear in French is not exactly what is translated in English in the subtitles.
For instance, Brendon Urie says ‘’Tu en fais vraiment trop’’, which translates literally into ‘’You’re doing way too much’’, BUTTTTT the subtitle reads ‘’YOU ARE SO DRAMATIC’’. The meaning is kind of different, isn’t it?
Then, Brendon says ‘’Calme-toi s’il-te-plait’’, which translates into ‘’Please calm down’’, BUTTTTT AGAIN, the subtitle reads ‘’You need to calm down’’. Again, a different meaning.
These are the only two sentences that don’t exactly match the meaning of the English translation (with an exception, she adds ‘’young’’ to the phrase ‘’In front of our young daughters’’ but the global meaning is unchanged).
Isn’t it weird that the translation doesn’t match, but that she had a French speaking coach? She probably had at least a fluent French speaker / translater on her team to write the dialogue, so why wouldn’t that person tell the video crew what the words exactly meant?
WHAT BRINGS ME TO MY THEORY. What if the clue she’s talking about is only noticeable by French speakers, and that’s why she makes so many references to the ‘’Language of love’’ and her love for the French language?
Wouldn’t it make sense that TS7 is named ‘’Lover’’ and that the two parts are titled CALM and DRAMATIC, or at least that those are the themes of the two parts?
What if CALM is symbolized by her blue outfits, and DRAMATIC is translated into her pink and glittery outfits?
PEACE OUT I’M SCARED AND EXCITED THIS WAS MY FIRST TUMBLR POST, DOIN’ IT FOR THE SWIFT
