i don’t think strictly incompatible necessarily, although i do think there’d ultimately have to be some level of back and forth. he is still kind of a tyrant at the end of the day… but at that point i think it would be less about yielding (outside of scenarios that might play into the masochistic side of the sadomasochistic read of his character) and moreso a matter of it being e.g. another way to interpret and extend the whole idea of how vlad insists that he and his master are equals.
